  1. Hi all,

This is my latest, a Hobbycraft 1/48 A-4E Skyhawk of Indonesian Air Force (TNI-AU). I used Hobbycraft's A-4H boxing which has everything (well, almost...) needed. Extended tail pipe and 30mm Aden cannons are the main features of TNI-AU Skyhawk external visible as they are ex Israeli AF aircrafts.

    I used recently-released FCM decal which beautifully and accurately supplies marking for 3 TNI-AU Skyhawks (2 A-4E and 1 TA-4H). 2 of them (A-4E serialled TT-0431 and TA-4H serialled TL-0416) were the last-flyable Indonesian Skyhawks in 2004.

The model is not 100% done yet, but I want to share it here....

  4. Ken,

I have the 1/72 Trumpeter Su-27UB here... what photos do you need ?

    Cheers

    Was it in Trumpeter's list of releases ??? - I can't remember......

The MKK is a simple change from their existing UB - new fins, a twin nosewheel, offset IRST & IFR probe.

To be even more accurate they should also provide new instrument panels.

Although, thinking about it, the upper fuselage moulding should be different from the the UB - in order to incorporate the IFR recess and IRST shoulder - anyone got the UB yet to compare???

The MKI/MKM/MKA would require a complete new fuselage moulding with canards - as well as new fins etc.

Anyway, I've ordered two of the MKK's - we'll see what they are like when they arrive.

  5. Hi all...

Building a model which only available from Testors actually made me feel challenged. Would it be good, or the way around?

One thing everbody knew is, Testors made a "single-seater" version of Bronco.. :deadhorse1:

Luckily, a friend of mine came into help when he gave me a pair of home made resin Bronco seats. The rest was scratchbuilt, including the wheel wells. Testors kit surprisingly has quite good fit. I build the wing and both booms to make the painting session much easier and left the "cockpit pod" untill the final stage. I cramped fishing leads as many as I can to the nose and to the space under the cockpit to prevent tail sitting.

Painting was done using Model Masters, Tamiya and Humbrol paintes to make it as Indonesian AF Bronco while serving the 3rd Squadron in Malang, East Java. Decal provided by CJM, a local decal brand.

The model is now given to the museum of Indonesian AF's 3rd Squadron.

  6. I'm not sure if NVAF used MiG-21F-13, but if they were, RoG is the only (good) choice. MiG-21PF (early) was certainly used and shot down some Phantoms (and other USAF/USN). The choice for this one is Fujimi in 1/72, Academy in 1/48 (perhaps Eduard, if they already released one ?).

As for the MiG-17F, there are several. The newest is AZ Models, but you can consider Dragon as well.
