  1. No offence taken or meant. I understand that the Panton Brother's are amassing a vast cache of spares and necessary money while looking at the viability of returning their Lanc to the air. Do you think Peter Jackson would fund both of these for his Dam Busters remake?
  2. I thought there only two airworthy Lancaster's; one here in the UK and one in Canada?
  3. I'll never be able to drag my girlfriend to see that anyway - no effeminate vampires with teenage angst in it!!
  4. Barnsleybill

    Sunderland

I doubt if italeri or MPM's new kits will be any improvement over your build - lovely job!
  5. Barnsleybill

    Heinkel 70

I can't find any reference to surviving machines in museums. Are there any left in Spain as the information I have is that they flew there until the 1950's??
  6. I get the feeling that you've just seen the best footage in the two trailers......... Besides Adolph Hitler escaped in a flying saucer and is living in a hole in the Earth's core at the North Pole!! Everyone knows that!!
  7. My apologies to Mr Borgnine - well there's a lead role just going begging..........
  8. Perhaps they'll use it to make Poseidon Adventure 3? I hear Gene Hackman's still available though Telly Savalas & Ernest Borgnne may need some time in make-up?
  9. The Captain apparently joined the ship as Head of Security in 2002 and was promoted up to Captain in 2006 - amazing!! If I get a job serving drinks on a Virgin 747, in 4 years I could be flying it!
  10. Bit of a waste of time with the Somali Authorities me thinks as they don't seem to know their arse from their elbow. Maybe they even get put back on a new boat with a 'Pirates of the Caribbean' baseball cap?
  11. Is it still legal to hang pirates? Hats off to the US Navy though, the Iranian Government will never thank them but I'm sure the Iranian fishermen and their families will appreciate their intervention. My Uncle once told me that doing a good jobs a bit like wetting your pants - no-one knows but you get a nice warm feeling!!! I've never tried it though!
  12. I also read somewhere that at the end of the war the RAF buried some Short Sterlings at an airfield in Norfolk. Probably just yet another urban myth but I'll be packing my metal detector next time I'm down there!
  13. I'd like to see an accurate and affordable FM-2 Wildcat from Airfix with wing fold option (of course). That could appeal to US and British modellers having been used by both nations and would sell by the cart load. The Airfix tooling is long in the tooth and there's shape issues with the AZ kits cowling & nose length (as well as a high price & limited run kit build issues that would put some off). There's just so many types that are badly in need of a new tool, I guess only time will tell but Airfix (and Revell) seem to be doing a sterling job of turning out well detailed, accurate
  14. Sad thing is that retailers have to protect themselves against this kind of thing through shutters, alarms, anti-ram posts and high insurance premiums, this is then passed onto customers through higher prices!
  15. The story goes that the Fairey rep supplied Airfix with prototype drawings. By the time the error was discovered it was way too late to amend the moulds. Airfix were apparently quite miffed!!
