  1. Adding some paint to the Hawk, as said before, really hard (for me) "color" to work with and givi it a non toy look!!
  2. I'm pretty sure I would have added more color to all the cables you have scratched, but looking at your work I realize how clean and natural they look! great job as usual!
  3. It's been a long time ago that I ran out of words so I don't say anything, but keep following your builds and and holding my jaw everytime!
  4. Believe me, if I can do a decent job with this kit, anyone can! I wouln't call it unbuildable, it just needs a bit of work and lots of dry fitting. Actually this is one of the best kits I've had! I built the Venom and the Zulu and they were also awesome kits, those are the only ones I can speak of. As I said, if I can make them look decent, just imagine them in the hands of the real good modelers!!! So for unbuildable kits I guess they do ok! Glad you like my work! I wouldn't be able to explain my "technique" when it comes to painting, I s
  5. Since most of the interior is done, fuselage halves closure was next step. Beeing this a big kit a lot of dry fitting was necessary and a lot of problems were found, those needed to be addressed in order to get a nice fit and/or at least get the halves to touch each other. All the locating tabs had to be reworked in order to fit the way the were supossed to. I sanded a bit of the floor's sides and finally got a decent fit all over. the joint will need some make up work but I'm happy with the result Warpage worried me a bit, but I satrted glueing from the back and had zero
  6. More sub-asemblies Nose cowling with just paint and dry brushed This is just a test for the paint to come, I've never worked a whole black model, the only thing I know is that the few parts I painted black have always been hard for me! The seat texture was made this time with the same jeans tag but this time damped in thinner and then pressed against the plastic, and I think iworked as fine but faster!
  7. Glad you like it Oliver! my painting tries to emulate yours, even tho I get a thousand miles short, I´ve learnt from you never to paint a solid color and so far it's been working fine! still a lot to improve but I guess I'm on the right track! Thank you
  8. Glad you like it! and again, thnx for that awesome set of decals!! I used Olive Drab and olive drab tone down with light ghost gray for lights and faded look
  9. Oh yes I forgot to tell you that I'm basing my build on the looks she has at the museum she's sitting now or more like a mix between the time of Somalia and her last days! I really like how they look!
  10. I started this build almost a year ago, and I'm way into the build, but decided to post some in progress pics in case someone would find them useful or entertained. This is gonna be my third try at helos and even if I'm not looking for a 100% accurate bird, at least I´d like it to have the general shape and looks of one of the Hawks back there in Somalia, this project will be OOB plus Werner's Wings decals. This build is taking a long time to finish cause at a certain point I ran out of references and/or skills to do it right, Gino's build has helped a lot as long as all his know
  11. Did they use these kind of front windows back in Somalia? or the ones with frames on them? KH has both options and instructions say should be the same as in the picture, but watching pictures of that time, one can see the frames. Thnx
  12. I knew it!! I was waitting for this to come! gotta love your comitment to do it "right" great job as usual!
  13. Always nice to see your progress Oliver! very inspiring and discouraging at the same time! great show as usual!
  14. Wow Elmo! you have no idea how glad I am seeing your post updated and knowing your Tram is still beeing worked on!! no need to say how impressive is your work! it just keeps getting better! way to go!
  15. Thnx guys!!! I appreciate you comments!!!
  16. I can call it done! nice kit, nice details, not perfect but workable and lots of fun! And this is how they look together!! Hope you like them!
  17. It is not in the kit! I just finished building it and it is not there! all the cool stuff seems to be getting out after I finished both the Zulu and the Venom!
  18. BTW Tim, I remember you built the armored floor for a kit IIRC! would you happen to have pics of your work and the real thing? maybe I'm really bad for looking on the net but in spanish is kinda hard to look! thnx
  19. Interesting pic of the interior Gino, thanks! I can see there's no sheep skin on the seats! I really hope you can find it!!!! there must be a nice thing to see these birds up close like you guys can do! here is near to impossible to get close to them when they get around here!
  20. Thnx Gino, are there two different choppers in the pics or it has the cowling without the marks in one of them? do you have interior shots? do you happen to know if she still has the bulletproof floor on?
  21. I know it's been discussed before, and I did look for info on the net and this forum, but the pics I found were really interesting but got Photobucketed!! I saw many of them posted by Ray (Rotorwash) but were not available to be seen! I'm planning on building "Super 68" as she sits in the museum, with the ESSS wings and refueling probe. I'm not going for 100% accuracy but as accurate as possible. this is gonna be my third helo build and I'm planning on using the Kitty Hawk kit, I'm maybe aiming a bit too high but we will see at the end! I have been checking references
