  1. I recently found out that Heller have released a "new" boxing (yet another one) of their old range of kits but this time with a completely new set of decals (and instructions) Not wanting to buy these kits all over again as i already have them, is there any way i can order just the decals from Heller? It seems this is a 2013 release so several years ago. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/heller-80229-messerschmitt-me-109-k-4--347701
  2. Hello all, Need to rack up some extra cash and where else to turn to than my faithful styrene stash. It rhymes don`t it...stash...cash, lol. I have one too many of the E27 kits, unmolested/parts sealed. Box is in great condition...it`s been well cared for. If you want the B/C kit, i do have that one as well just in case you are looking for both. I noticed there is a low supply on these kits so demand goes up don`t it?! Thanks for stoppopphopping by, Bjørn in Norway
  3. I`m a diehard Humbrol enamel fan and i couldn`t care less for some silly new rule banning the sale of them. I was in Denmark 10 years ago in some hobby shop and asked for the Tamiya Acrylic range but was told they had a chemical in them that apparently was banned in Denmark. Well, guess i just buy them at home in Norway then. All these various regulations is not to be taken seriously. I won`t let anyone tell me what paints to use. Can`t help wonder if this is a Brexit thing...
  4. Well to be honest this issue popped up in my head when i accidentally dropped a single engined model straight down onto the wooden floor and thought to myself aerodynamic my arse. I couldn`t help wonder why it just fell to earth like a rock. I guess physics plays a part in this. Maybe if the model i dropped would have been true to weight it somehow would have magically crashlanded on the floor without any damages, lol. I get strange thoughts in my head like that from time to time, hahaha.
  5. If the real size 1:1 machine is 10 tons, what would it weigh in at in the various modeling scales? Say a 1:1 scale Avro Lancaster weighs 25.000 KGs, what should in theory a 1:72 scale model of a Lancaster weigh? I don`t even know if there is anything called "true to weight" but it would be fun to know. Are our plastic models lighter or heavier then what they should have been following the logic of "true to weight" ? I hope i got my question through to y`all out there, lol.
  6. Hey all, Just in case the intl. shipping isn`t a very big intimidator to you, i am placing my Aero Detail books up for sale. The shipping weight is around 13-14KG so intl. shipping looks to be around U$130 or thereabout. The books are in great shape (really) and most of them can be considered "like new" although some early releases came without a dust cover and were less likely purchased in a "new" condition like the early Spitfire/Hurricane & F-4/F-15 titles. I am asking U$750 for this lot and will ship more or less worldwide (No Conflict Zones!) While not somethi
  7. Schiffer is a top namebrand for me. Choose wisely as there are many of them out there. This is good because it means the price isn`t usually too high. I much prefer the hardcover books that have several hundred pages of material. I always do some research upfront so i have an idea of what i`m getting. If you`re thinking of the David Doyle title i would be somewhat apprehensive from the fact that these litter ebay right now and none of the listings give any idea of the contents (basically just the image of the cover, nothing else) That is a dealbreaker right there at least for me. 8. They are no doubt cool but i can`t help wonder if this is touching on and conflicting with copyright laws from the various artists. He is offering these in various sizes and with or without frames so it`s not just something he cut out from some random model kit box. I think this one is from an ICM kit, not sure. https://www.finn.no/bap/forsale/ad.html?finnkode=242445816 Hasegawa B-25 box art. https://www.finn.no/bap/forsale/ad.html?finnkode=242444945 And a Taimya one. https://www.finn.no/bap/forsale/ad.html?finnkode=242445800 Any t
  9. I always wanted to play IL-2 Cliffs of Dover but i guess i won`t find any new CDs with the user key and such anymore. I play a little bit of IL-2 almost every day and find myself going back to the same mission almost every time. Moscow MIG-3 scramble. A few times i play the Rheinland 262 mission intercepting Mitchell bombers. I have a pretty mediocre video card....asus 1060 strix 6gb i think but it`s more than good enough for me. I never just buy a single aircraft, not worth it only a campaign or full game.
  10. Hey guys, Wanted to get the word out there because things ain`t adding up and as of today i am calling this seller a big fraud. I bought three magazines from this ebay seller in ITALY. A relatively big seller with almost 2000 active listings (flybudget33) The parcel according to him was shipped out on july 24th and he attached a picture of the shipment. First and foremost there is no postage paid shown on the parcel and no official documents attached to help describe the contents to get it through customs etc. Sort of surprising for an international shipment. I have done busi
  11. Why so? I can tell they don`t have anything up at the moment but the last listing they had ended on august 8th, not really cause for any alarm? I shopped with them on several occasions.
  12. I don`t trust the bank so i have a stash instead. I always bought a lot more than i needed so i could sell again later. The real question is how many kits can you build before you run out of plastic cement. I`m at the point where i no longer go look for models because i have pretty much everything i ever wanted. These days i spend a little money on books and such but without question the real foundation is my beloved stash, lol. I can pick & choose...cherrypick whatever i want, i don`t have to build "everything"
  13. Cutting the parts from their trees, cleaning them up and at the same time enjoying the parts intricacy that soon will build up into a complete model. That`s high quality therapy for me right there...every time 😉
  14. I wish Hasegawa would start making some new tooled single engined types, not just redo their old ones all the freggin time. Also i wish they would have made a few more soviet types when they did their nice collection back in the 80`s & 90`s. Maybe something like what Airfix is doing now, refreshing their old line of kits, lol. That`s at least doing some justice to all their fans around the world.
  15. Procuring a high quality/silent compressor is often the primary financial burden in a scenario like this. I was a grown man before i could buy one such for myself and oh boy it is SO worth it. As for airbrushes, you may obtain several different ones for your stash but as far as compressors, you usually only carry one in your arsenal over a long period of time. For sure look for used compressors unless you come fully loaded. Here`s one airbrush i find very attractive and good quality. https://www.largescaleplanes.com/reviews/review.php?rid=2198
  16. Is there a link to the book somewhere ?
  17. I bought a six pack of the Future bottles in 2014 from amazon. I think they were like $35 plus shipping to Norway. Mine came with a very sweet apple smell. A couple of the bottles were damaged due to the bottle caps breaking off from the poor design "open top" Pledge packs so they must have left an apple scent trail all across the Atlantic ocean, lol. Needless to say i still have a lot left and this future stuff really has got to be the most sought after stuff for modelers living in countries where you can not buy this product.
  18. I`ve been toying with this idea for a long time but it`s still just a daydream. I really want to try it out but i can`t seem to find a "way in" if you like. Is there anyone out there who has gone through the paces and sat down and learned the ABCs of casting your own resin parts? Maybe a clever "way in" would be to cast some spare parts for your project just to get started? I can see a lot of uses for this type of work. I have no idea what to buy but i know there are several good quality products out there.
  19. Ok so at first you say "form long strong bonds" and then you go on to say "potentially weaker in bonding strength" This "contradiction" makes no sense to me. Either we are talking about a stronger bond or a weaker bond when adding water. If you say both things you are confusing people. Soooo....which one is it? Don`t use too many scientific terms, talk in plain english so everybody can understand. I`ve been using thin ca as a filler on my aluminium rims to fill in small scratches which worked great but i did not want to apply any ca kicker since i believe the glue would become poro
  20. I`m seriously considering picking up one of these. I just found these shirts really really cool. https://theywillkillyou.com/collections/t-shirts
  21. So adding water could be a better solution than accelerator ?
  22. So i am curious to know why ca glue seems to react with water almost as if you added accelerator. Anyone know why this is?
  23. So is the Metalizer range discontinued or to be continued? I could swear i heard something about them going out with a bang.
  24. Just hopped on the bandwagon. Did i miss anything?
