  1. How about you paint the whole bomb yellow, then you just cut some thin tamiya masking tape to the desired width with a metal ruler, mask the area to be designated "yellow stripes" and voila! Certainly you will get a good result if you spray paint the bomb, so why not make a bundle while your at it ;-)
  2. It now seems obvious to me that i have lost money on my cancelled order with aviationmegastore. I figure they charged my credit card before they checked that the ordered items actually were in stock, and therefore lost almost 10 dollars by cancelling my order. At first glance it looks like it has to do with the currency exchange rate, but this should not apply to anyone cancelling an order, should it? I will have to contact them, because this is just being silly. This sucks :-(
  3. Some model kits you just give up trying to procure, but then one day you somehow manage to stumble across it. I had been looking for the FW187 A-0 (i didn`t even know it excisted as a kit) from special hobby for all of my 20 years of modelling life. But then just recently i found 2 of them brand new! one in France and one in the Netherlands. That is my very best find sofar. Runner up must be the Hasegawa Beaufighter X (with drop tank) and lastly a pair of Nakajima J1N2,Irving/Gekko even though this Fujimi kit still is readily available/in production.
  4. A few years back i started disassembling many of my new model kits and carefully placing the pieces in zip lock bags for evide..ehh..safe storage. In other words freeing the parts from their respective sprues and discarding most of the loose sprues. This means i am able to contain as many as up to 5 model kits inside one box...thus dramatically reducing the storage space needed. I guess there wasn`t any other option for me. The only downside is that you will find yourself without complete boxes for many of your kits. One example: The Eduard F6F Hellcat top opening box: 1 cyber hobby hellcat, o

  6. I "accidently" threw away the whole semi-built kit a few years back...i didn`t think it was up to speck
  7. Testing testing..

  8. No, it was a dutch seller. But i will wait a few days before i start hackin away at their credibility. It may be that the sum will reset itself after a while (been 5 days now) But if this turns out to be a monetary loss, i will be less than impressed with this fact. But then again i still couldn`t tell if this is a bank/transaction charge or something from the seller. Roll models, huh..never shopped with them before. I have shopped with a couple of dozen e-shops over the last few years, but never cancelled an order before. But then again if i place a small order and the in stock is not in stoc
  9. Nor was it any longer in production, so i had to cancel the order. This is something that irritates me and you and usually means alot more timeconsuming browsing and further orders if you can "find" what you are looking for..."in stock" again! So when the retailer reserves the amount on my credit card, will i be reembursed the full sum, or is there a small loss (you loose a little of your money on the pending transaction) It looks to me like there is a small discrepancy for about US10 after i had been recredited the amount for the order. (i don`t think they charged my card though) just the res
  10. I guess i can relate to this sore controversy. I am looking at the relatively new B-24J "coastal command" from Hasegawa, and i almost never bother with what a kit costs, but a domestic retailer is asking US128 for it, and that really is putting some serious strain on my state of mind or my modelling consciense if you will. And some of the other B-24`s also level out at around 100+ dollars. So i am having a hard time subduing myself into actually buying it even though i really want it. So, Hasegawa don`t expect too many young modelling recruits joining your semi-submerged fleet. Men may do so o
  11. Just some more info on this kit: I got the shipment in the mail the other day, and it looks like Eduard has done an outstanding job on this one. I got me 2 of those profipacks and 2 of those overtrees in similar boxes without any printing on them (my first overtree purchase) i actually regret buying the two overtree items as i would argue you are better off paying those extra 15 dollars for the profipack sets. The plastic is colored light olive drab, and has just the right amount of density in it :-) the wheel wells have some resemblence of rib detail inside, but not much. None of my two decal

    ARK Models??

So what is this manufacturer all about? I`m hoping atleast some engraved panel lines ;-) anyone has some info to share on this maker? Pretty many interesting 1:72 sale subjects including the Firefly, Swordfish, Lysander & the...no wait, this must be some sort of copycat with just another brand name on it. Am i right??
  13. I am looking for this and some other 1:72 scale figure sets from Preiser.de. Formoust the russian WWII pilot & ground personell set(#72543)Been looking for this item the last year and even placed my order with models11.net without luck some time ago. So which on-line shop has the best selection from this manufacturer? I don`t think they can be bought directly from Preiser...
  14. Well i`m just cheking back to let it be known that today one week (7 days) have passed since i placed my order with Eduard. So either they have their hands full or the summertime trafficcontrol crew is too slow. I am hoping that it will be shipped sometime soon. The replies i have gotten after two days:"waiting" and after five days: "prepared" and maybe sometime soon (before christmas) i will be getting an e-mail with "shipped" Better be worth the wait!!! Update: Whoopeedoo..it shipped out of Eduard today after some good long seven days. Sevens the number!! 777 ;-)
  15. Well i have no idea how much work it would take to backdate an E model to a C, but that in my opinion is not a good enough reason not to get one (or more) of these. I would just about argue that it goes without saying that this is a full-blood quality kit. And not many other manufacturers are like that..maybe Tamiya. It seems logical to say the least that as far as 110 subtypes are concerned, Eduard now have their hands full. Ordered two profipacks and two overtrees the other day..along with four of those superawesome 110 gunbay`s and a couple of P.E. sets to go. And i just couldn`t resist get
  16. Yuk..i thought you were on about some 1:72 lightning parts. 1:48 scale models i don`t do.
  17. Is that a "dackelbauch" fuel belly i see on one of those sprues? WOW..please say it is so..Yes slayermk1, you`re not the only one having the new airfix molds in your stack. Hopefully the issues regarding previous kit shortcomings for the mebf110 kits are now a thing of the past.

    He-115

Hey! Yes, the ancient Revell kit is a tad primeval for us modern day modellers. So i totally agree. I ordered my Revell He-115 from Germany via amazon a year back, and it really takes me back to the days where modelling was about gluing some plastic together and having some fun while inhaling it :-)Hopefully it would look something like the odd aeroplane..These neglected models are not everybodys cup of coffe though, but i have a soft spot for that ole thing. Meanwhile good luck modelling the Revell kit :-)
  19. Well then i guess my big excitement would seem to be legit and i will go ahead and buy this little marvel..because that`s what it is right? The Eduard side offerings for this model certainly looks good to. I`m getting a couple of those to! What about the price of this kit...a bit on the cheap side??? Just wondering. Any building reviews of this kit yet?
  20. So anyone who has some intel on this all new kit from Eduard? It does seem the long wait is over from what my eduard e-mail tells me....(BIG grin:)
  21. I keep my sprues in a stash like most of us. I try to spend some time cleaning up the longest lengths of the sprues and keep those so it does not take up too much storage space. I am also careful to keep a generous variety of plastic sprues from different manufacturers as the quality of the plastic varies alot. Just got my first ever HobbyBoss kit yesterday (mig-3), but the lack of those big sprues didn`t excactly break my heart. I also try to stash away some of the clear sprues (the best looking)you know..for leading edge lights etc. I would say the finest quality sprue would be that of Tamiy
  22. Get some extra fat pilot figures!
  23. So who was it again..been waiting long now for this one..i assume it has still to arrive in the shelves?!
  24. One aspect of plastic modelling i never quite got the hang of was that of our meticulous marksman method. I started reading FSM at around 18, and that`s propably where i first heard of this phenomenon, but never really understood why anyone would want to go ahead and measure up the shapes or forms of the model kits. When it comes to modelling, you are modelling, not constructing a house. I find this un-natural even though i am above all, a perfectionist. Do you have an ambition to know how well the model measures out to the real thing you may proceed, but this is not for the mainstream modeler
  25. About four weeks ago i shipped my "misfiring" aztek airbrush body piece across the atlantic to the Testors company for a lifetime warranty claim. Somewhere along the line i actually immersed the entire piece in mineral spirits, but then again my old manual was inadequate :-( So it seems i got a brand new airbrush body piece in the mail today. My old one was 10+ years old. I also got a new 0.30 nozzle as the one i bought some years ago had a factory dented tip (i did return that nozzle along with the body piece) Nice one Testors. Maybe i will consider getting the metal body kit someday. It do
