Minicraft and Academy got hit really hard by this. I think that the trademark issues have been lifted. There are a lot of modern kits that have the Boeing logo today.

You are 110% accurate. There was a trademark issue. Just around that time. a lot of the US companies went after the plastic model manufacturers with trademark infringement lawsuits. Boeing was a big one. Academy got hit real hard with this suit. you will notice the boxes were all printed with out the Boeing name. Other companies embraced and actually supported the model industry. those were Air Buss and Ford. There were a few toy manufacturers that paid for trademarks. there were special stickers on those boxes. The Asian toy manufacturers were hit the hardest and it was intended for them. It actually brought Academy to their knees. Than when McDonald Douglas got bought out by Boeing, it happened again. I think that Boeing is still one that is that way to this day.

That stile of aircraft would only fall into what they have been doing in 1/144, it seams like. The larger scales all seem to be pre-1950. Also ART Model already has it in 1/72. I doubt very much that MikroMir would do one in 1/48.

Once I finish my current project I will start on this. Someone posted their build on Facebook. They did a nice build but it is brush painted and not airbrused.

I am really looking forward to the new release of the MikroMir 1/48 Junkers W.33/34/43/46. That aircraft has such possibilities. I would imagine that floats will be provided and therefore the civil Canadian bush planes will be buildable. I plan on building at least two, both in the Czech paint schemes. They were both the same aircraft but one was the original light gray, (my guess AE-9 primer (FS25630)) over the original RLM70t/65b paint, well weathered with the red lightning bolt. The second after repaint was factory fresh silver without the lightning bolt and with codes under the wings. I cant think of any other besides the Ju-52 kits that will have a corrugated surface. This will be a fun challenge for the decal placement. I do really hope that floats will be supplied with this kit.

If I wished they did some famous transport vintage aircraft it would be the Lockheed Model 10 Electra or the Bellanca 300. The Electra was flown by almost every nation in the world and is obviously famous for Emilia Earhart. Once again it was flown by all the US military services also, before and during the war. Not to mention that it was one of the first designs of the most famous US Aeronautical Engineers of all time. Kelly Johnson. This is a kit that has only been done in very limited release It was produced by Williams brothers in 1/53 scale and Special Hobby in short run multi media 1/72. The Williams brothers is the better out of the two kits and still in production. The Special Hobby kit is long gone and when it was available it was SUPER expensive. I know, The next one will be the Junkers W.33/34/43/46 series and I did give a suggestion of the "Douglas Dolphin" flying boat. He actually really liked that idea. I like the idea that it was used by ALL the US military services including the Coast Guard, and also a few foreign military services. Not to mention a plethora of civilian airline operators. The President of PanAm had his own private one. If I am not mistaken I believe that I read somewhere that the president of Boeing also had his own private one. The Vanderbilts also owned one and they carried it on the back of their yacht. Maybe some of the most famous ones were the ones flown to Catalina Island. The beautiful Blue Gold and White Catalina Air Transport aircraft. They flew most of the versions. Myself, I want to do one in the U S Marines RD-3 aircraft markings. But most likely would build two or three. Including the classic Catalina aircraft.

I am surprised that there is not more interest in this kit. The 1/72 kits are selling very well for the other Czech companies. I communicated to Vladimir Sulc and he announced to me that there will be every variant short of the first wooden version Zlin 26/C-5. There just wouldn't be any interchangeable parts. He never answered if they will supply in the kit, the early rounded tail surfaces for the Zlin 126/C105. Those at least would be in common to the first version and would provide opportunities for military subjects.

BTW, I have an HUP and HUK on order and own MANY MANY of other 1/350 ships and 1/144 airliners/transports and 1/48 kits. Sure don't have enough fingers and toes to count them. Their 1/350 US Submarines and 1/144 airliners are par-none. My only hope is, that I live long enough to build all these kits.

In the past I have purchased MikroMir 1/350 ships and 1/144 aircraft. For about the last three or four years I would say. I have found their kits very accurate, detailed and interesting subjects. The kits are not TamiGawa or Eduard but neither are the prices. In the past year or so their selection of kits and announced subject matter has just exploded. With the release of their new line of 1/72 and 1/48 "Schneider Trophy Series" and their classic vintage helicopter under the AMP brand, and now the announcement of their Classic Transport aircraft in 1/48 under the MikroMir label I am just astonished. I have just the other day received my 1/48 Supermarine S-5 kits (3x), and they are beautiful. There is a little bit of flash, but for the detail and and general overall quality, who cares about a bit of cleanup. I am thrilled. I have been in intermittent, direct contact with them, with some suggestions for kits. They have acknowledged the future release of a new Supermarine S-6 and "possibly" a S-4 To compliment the S-5 in production. Because of their recent release of the AMP line HH-43/HUK-1, H-25/HUP, S-51/HO3S helicopters, I also put into the suggestion box, a new Sikorsky H-19/S-55/HRS/HO4S kit. The old Revell kit is almost three-quarters of a century old and needs to be superseded. It is still a nice and accurate model but is void of any real detail. Any aftermarket detail once available is long discontinued (sadly) and just needs to be replaced. There were other suggestions I have made but now with the announcement of the 1/48 Curtiss Robin and Junkers W.33/34/43/46. who knows what will be next. Their De Havilland DH-88 is also an amazing release under the MikroMir label. I got some disappointing news about Eduard's MiG-19. It will be a re-boxed Trumpeter kit with options to do both versions and wilol concentrate on the Czech variant S-105. That is very disappointing. However I do not know if the MiG-21F-13 and the UM/UB will also be. I hope not since the Trumpy MiGs are no better than the old Academy kits with the same and sometimes worse shape mistakes. If I had to guess, I will say that those two will be new since trees from the previously released 21s can be used. Fortunately I still have in my stash a resin fuselage set from the HiPM kit which can be married to the usable parts from Academy or Trumpeter. I don't think that there is any way to really fix the Trumpy early MiG-21F. Short of kitbashing that kit with the back half of either an Eduard, KP or OEZ kit. That can also be done for the 21U.

I fixed the signature. Why do you say that about Obscureco? Is something wrong with Chris? He did such a good job on the 1/48 PV-1 cowling for the Revell kit which I sent him the master for.

I saw on Facebook and in a Czech forum that Eduard is coming out with a complete series of Zlin 126-526, two seat trainers and single seat acrobatic. There should be the C-105 and C-205 military versions also. Kits will be in 1/48 scale. I just received my order of two more of the Zvezda Bf-109G-6 kits for my conversions. I am not a builder of German aircraft or in particular the Bf-109, but I do build anything with Czech markings. Variants of the 109 were flown by the Czechs into the 50s. Between various S-99, CS-99, S-199 and CS-199 aircraft in different variations and paint schemes, I could build a half dozen or more with no problem. Single seaters and dual seaters. Heck, there were at least 6 different two seat versions flown by the Czechs after the war.

I agree on all points. I found the same. I can even get away with the kit wheels. Especially if you build Navy versions. Tire pressure for Naval versions was much higher so there is no flatness to the lower part unless you build it loaded down with bombs. Obviously the E variant would have to get the new tires. I don't build much with USAF on it.

I have always liked the Esci/Ertl/ Italeri F-4 kits. I actually like thgeir F-4J/S better than the early Hasegawa kits.

I did forget to mention that from the Zvezda kit you can build the G-4 G-6 early short tailed and G-6 late tall tailed variants. You might even be able to build a G-14 from it. So for conversions, it is, in my opinion the best choice. You can get them for almost nothing from ModelsUA. I am one of his established members and the kit costs me about $12US. Definitely worth the money. Less than half the price of an Eduard weekend addition. Even overtrees cost about $19 here in the US. Besides, I believe more dimensionally accurate but for the 2mm too small wingspan. The fuselage is definitely more accurate. Besides the fact that Messerschmidt sealed all his rivet heads so the 109 should not show almost any rivet detail. Eduard is just packed with it. I would also like to mention that the Zvezda kit would and will be my first choice for any other Bf-109 Variation modification I plan on doing. This includes but is not limited to the Czech Avia S-199 Mezek (Mule) conversion which the wing shown is intended for. Using the beautiful AML set also with other components including some from the original Hobby Craft kit. At this point, only the wing blisters.

North American became North American Rockwell which than became Rockwell International which was than bought by Boeing. What really frosts my goat is Boeing F-4 Phantom.😠. But I guess that there are a LOT of such examples. Boeing bought out almost everyone. I guess it's now the Boeing B-1 Lancer. Etc. Etc. Boeing F-86 or F-100? Take your pick.
