  1. Good enough for me, than, I will just live with the Trumpeter kit "as-is" and sell the Tamiya kits on eBay. I just dug up about twenty more kits I have which I can et rid of and these can now make it twenty two more to the "to get rid of stack". I have also looked at your May-24 post and noticed your conversion kit more closely. I was looking at it backwards I thought that the Tamiya kit was not enough sweep, it is actually too much. This would put the Trumpeter closer than the Tamiya in any case. So in fact, the Tamiya tail is overswept and the wings are underswept. So I guess, the Trumpeter
  2. Since I got my Trumpeter miG-15 I overlaid it on my Tamiya kit. Here is what I observed. The vertical stab on the Tamiya is slightly more but the wing sweep on the Tamiya is substantially less. Both the leading and trailing edges. I think I am willing to live with the fault of the Trumpeter more comfortably. I hate to admit it. I guess, if I really wanted to, I could cut the stab off the Tamiya and place it on the Trumpeter. The question is, is it really worth it for the slight change. It is next to impossible to tell if you do not have the two next to each other. But the wing sweep is quite n
  3. OK Hannants just got them in stock. $14. So I ordered the set. So never mind the request guys.
  4. This is for the CS-199 two-seater. This canopy is only available in the Falcon #50 set. I have had my name on the list at Hannants for quite some time but they have been out of stock . I am not at all into one-oh-nines but would like to try my hand at converting a kit into the two seat CS-199 in Czech police colors. There is someone on fleebay that is selling the set for $30 plus post but to pay that just for one canopy I will ever use is kind of silly, I think. There has to be someone out there that has that set, that has no interest in the CS-199 that would rather get some cash back into the
  5. Any news on possibly anyone coming out with a new 1/48 MiG-15? Since the last post here? I know that things turn on a dime with this hobby. Such as kittyHawk announcing a new Su-17/22 in 1/48, just as I bought two more from Poland, of the older Smer its, about three weeks ago. Fortunately I still like those and I got them for a decent price. I am quite sure that I paid less than half of what the new KittyHawk kits will cost.
  6. Anyone out there have the Falcon clearvacs canopy set #50 in 1/48? I am looking for the Avia CS-199 canopy, if you are not going to use it. I can't get hold of Falcon regardless of multiple emails. I would be willing to pay a good fair price for this canopy. That is the only canopy out of the set I am interested in. 1/48 Skyraiders Which?

The last time we emailed was about a month ago and he said he is leaning on his source that actually produces his stuff. I made four total cowlings for myself, sending him one of them. He is a very nice guy but just a bit busy, that's all.

    1/48 Skyraiders Which?

    Keep it going guys.
  12. I would much prefer a Vac canopy set. One open and one closed.
  13. It looks like you may not have to use a BN for this conversion. You get the whole nose so any MiG-23 from Trump should work. Please correct me if I'm wrong. The other kits can be found for a song. I bought one for $20.For me, it will depend on the price of this conversion, as I mentioned before. If you want to use a BN than $50+$50 =$100. That is a bit too much for something that should cost $39 or so total.
  14. I have seen the ColdWar Studios update and it looks REALLY good. I am looking forward to it if it is affordable. I don't want to be spending $50 for the kit and another $50 for the upgrade. In that case i will wait for the Zvezda kit. https://www.facebook.com/ColdWarStudiodetails/?fref=nf http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234973404-148-mig-23bn-flogger-h-by-trumpeter-released-nose-correction-set-by-cold-war-studio/page-5
  15. Oh, hat is fantastic, Sharkmouth. I will print those out tomorrow on our printer at work tomorrow.
  16. What is the best modeling site for armor? I lost my instructions for my DML ZSU-23 Shilka and need to find someone who has a set thy can PDF me.
  17. I am quite happy with the IS-2 kits I have. No need to spend more money on that project. I have more than I need.
  18. I just ordered the Zvezda kit for $13.33 plus $8 shipping from Russia. I could have bought the ISU-122 for $11 but than I would have to cannibalize or buy a metal gun.
  19. I'm looking at the Zvezda kit once again. I am quite satisfied with the IS-2 from them and it is less than one quarter the price of the Tamiya including the shipping. The DML kit will have the same lower hull mistakes as on the IS-2 kits and the upper hull on the Zvezda IS-2 I have is nicer than the DML kit anyway. The Zvezda kit is being sold for anywhere from $11-$16.50 and. the Tamiya kit starts at about $50. Plus the tracks on both are still the old stile rubber-band stile. Plus Zvezda also offers the ISU-122 which can be bought for about $10 and just replace the gun barrel. The only issue
  20. Unfortunately I realized that I screwed up. I wanted the ISU-152 and not the SU-152. Wat a blunder. Oh Well, I guess I have more to sell on eBay. Trumpeter included.
  21. Just got my Trumpeter SU-152 and it is unbelievable. It comes with metal barrel and muzzle, Photo etch, New updated road wheels and beautiful individual track links. Accurate or not, it is a beautiful model. I also got my new order from the Ukraine, with my MSD track links for the KV and SU and T-34/85 tanks plus bought some late spider wheels for the T-34/85. The SU-152 from MSD is a well updated Eastern express kit with individual track links and a couple of new trees. It is not AS Beautiful as the Trumpeter kit but for the $14.75 each (I bought 2) it is well worth it. I will compare the two
  22. i would also love to see the Su-7 from them.
  23. Don't feel bad, my first language is Czech. I do agree with you about perfection. This is why I just asked which is better and am surprised that a company like Zvezda has not taken on the model. I just hate sending money to the other side of the Pacific ocean. I don't mind sending it across the Atlantic, and I do a lot. :explode:/> . I have plenty to build so I am in no rush for ANY kit. I just don't want to miss out on the good ones and don't want to waste money on the bad, IE "most" Trumpeter kits. As badly as I want ta MiG-23BN, I refuse to buy the one available from across the Pacific.
  24. RF-8_________ What a concept. With John Glen's record breaking ship decals?????
  25. Why_ Why_Why_Oh-Why_ can't someone just come out with a correct model of this icon? I might wait just for that. How-bout Zvezda? Good product for good price.
