  2. The IPMS Canada 'Best Canadian Subject' Award at the IPMS/USA 2012 Nats in Orlando For the past couple of years we have been informally recognizing the outstanding model reflecting Canadian content at the IPMS/USA National Convention. This has been working out so well that we want to do it again in Orlando in August 2012. If you are entering a Canadian subject model, please look for the Canadian flag and entry sign-up sheets in the contest registration area. What is Canadian content? To qualify for the award, your entry has to be identifiably and distinctly Canadian in its markings, or it
  3. It still is both names, but it's usually called RT for short, at least by the cool kids it is. ;) For a few years we dropped Random Thoughts from the cover of RT, but a previous Editor decided to reinstate it, so we just went with it. A short history of the name can be found here - http://www.ipmscanada.com/ipms/ipmsRT.html
  4. Hi guys, Thanks for the kind words and the support for BT. I need to point out that I just posted the notice here on the ARC forum. Chris Aleong, of IPMS Edmonton, Alberta, has taken on the mantle of e-news editor. Chris, webmaster Kim Elliot and I will coordinate on our efforts to bring material to IPMS Canada members.
  5. Important Announcement for IPMS Canada Members - beaveRTales! We have just e-mailed out the first issue of IPMS Canada's electronic newsletter, beaveRTales. Once we get the production schedule smoothed out, the plan is for beaveRTales to be emailed out about mid-way between postal mailings of our RT journal. beaveRTales will compliment RT and the IPMS Canada website, and will contain news, reviews, and other material that we hope will be of interest to you all. The only problem is that we don’t have email addresses for all current IPMS Canada members; in fact we are about 100 addresses short
  6. The current count is right around the 60 mark, so there's still time to put in your request. FREE BLACKBURN SHARK Drawings to IPMS Canada Members Courtesy of Carl Vincent, Terry Higgins and the good folks at Aviaeology (www.aviaeology.com), IPMS Canada’s Special Products Division has come into possession of about 100 copies of detailed Blackburn Shark drawings. These drawings were recently discovered in a Belgian warehouse, carefully hidden under a pile of Afrika Korps pith helmets. The black line artwork drawing consists of one, 16†x 20†sheet, printed both sides and cont
  7. Thanks to all of you who have written in to ask for a set of these drawings. Unfortunately we ran into a serious technical issue with our ISP and the emails you sent in got 'disappeared'. Our Webmaster, Kim Elliott, researched the problem and has decided that the simplest solution is to use a new email address. sharkplans@gmail.com With our sincere apologies, we ask that you please re-send your requests to the new email address. 13. Hi Jack, I'm doing fine. Were you at the Nats? I saw lots of old friends there but I don't think I saw your manly visage anywhere in Omaha.
  14. Thanks Jay, I'd really appreciate that. By the way, we had a heckuva good time down in Omaha. Sincere congrats to all the organizers and workers who pitched in to make it a success.
