  1. What if the Saudis did it? What if it was carried out by B-2s from a Saudi or Omani corridor? Hell, even if they came in over Iraqi arispace carrying bunker busters theres a great chance they could evade detection. The stealth eagles or possible F-22s could provide a great deal of protectiom to them. That is unless there is an existing computer flaw Iran could exploit again. What about a blockade, provokation, and justification of an attack on Iran? Why leave it up to Israel? The Americans could do it infinitely better. Between military intervention in Syria or Iran right now for regime ove
  2. Here you can see an unusual way of carrying ground pounding ordinanace- 3 Zuni pods on the port wing only! Jump to 35:18 if it doesn't play for you in this window. At 35:55 you can clearly see that the pods are only on the left wing. I know it's prototypical in nature, but it's interesting nonetheless.
  3. I thought Full Metal Jacket probably did well with the war scenes in Vietnamese cities. "deep inside ever gook is an American trying to make his way out"
  4. I've seen it and that counts perfectly.
  5. Ok, I want movies made about wars that are GOOD. Not the highest grossing, but as a man would call the film, good. I'll start with the format we'll be using: Dark Blue World - Czech Torpedo Bomber - Russia Stalingrad - Germany Das Boot - Germany Alright, keep it coming so I can Netflix it or burn it.
  6. I'm impressed! Nice job. I want one. Which kit is it homeboy?
  7. I'm sorry if I unwittingly brought in a political aspect. If you read my post, and I'm not saying you didn't, it should be clear that I have nothing but praise for the movie and what the Navy SEALs really do. I was only trying to touch up on the bin Laden raid as it is something I think was carried out first rate and the pictures from the raid- SEALs, White House, helicopter tail, etc., are all what I think sums up that brave action. Nothing political meant, please ignore any seemingly political overtones as they do not exist. For what it's worth C-in-C is a military rank, not exclusively a p
  8. It's a good movie that realistically portrays what these outstanding individuals actually can do when they come together as a team. Their trainng is first and puts Spetznatz, Moussad, and 99% of the other special forces to shame. Luckily, our country wants that remaining 1% bad enough to fund it. SEALS train first rate and the stale acting in this movie was fresh because Hollywood took a merciful round to the hip when approaching. This mobility kill ensured a faithful movie using plausible, probable, and most likely somewhat historical scenerios for our viewing pleasure. Not just anyone can
  9. Excellent job. Good subject matter. I think it looks just like 401's planes. Just remember that even though they are usually kept under tarp, they still spend a lot of time exposed to the HOT Yuma sun! They appear kind of faded after a while.
  10. I sprayed an acryilic undercoat of Tamiya Flat Aluminum for my Rufe fighter and I just want to know how long I should let the paint dry before applying the IJN grey to it. Then I want to know how long to let that dry before I start laying masking tape in little areas and pulling it off to get some paint chipping. Thanks!
  11. Aggressor, what's your job now? I did a lot with them from the MALS!
  12. I like it. How hard would it be to cut the brakes and close them?
  13. Don't worryabout the Oscars. Those are 100% trash anyhow. Thanks for the recommendation!
  14. We're still the best! If you remotely have a problem with the USA, watch out!
  15. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c7/AV-8B_Harrier.KC-10.drogue.jpg Like this, only with gun packs.
  16. Do Marines carry laser mavs? Yes. But lately I heard that precision guided bombs have been all rage. I do not know about the role HARMS play with Marine Hornets.
  17. SEAD is carried out by Prowlers. As far as CAS goes for Harriers I've seen tanks on the outboards (meaning no winders), Lightning pod indoor right, and JDAM or LGB on left indoor. Mavs are seldom carried from what the pilots tell me. I've also seen lightning pod, 1 jdam, and 1 gbu, leaving an open pylon ( not counting sidewinder rails) AMRAAMs are tested and work on Harriers but are not issued as I believe upgrades need to be made for squadron birds. Therefor you will only see them on VX-4 (?) birds, even if they are in VMA-311 markings (need to check that one out). I don't have much info o
  18. The beaches he is referring to are those of Italy. Yeah, the actor made a mistake - probably because he got interested in the subject and WWII as a whole. But Fox News seemed to go on and on without knowledge themselves for what seemed like an eternity. Reading Col. Olds book I didn't see much mention of fog and mist at 12,000 feet. I do, however remember Olds not being able to assist the soldiers due to worry of misidentification of the targets. George Lucas's film isn't complete garbage. It isn't like Titanic, Pearl Harbor, or Flyboys because the movie is 75% in the sky, not a love story.
  19. Even if you chose to seal the bird and add the last details I'd say it looks very convincing. The green doesn't look bad on my end, but I understand you wanting to have a more faded green. Nice job. Which Esci kit was this? MS I take it?
  20. Thanks for the support gentlemen. I'm sure that I will learn a lot here, as I have already learned immensely. I'm glad I can show my birds off and I hope I can be of some help to anyone curious about AV-8B Harrier IIs. I perform maintenance on the Pegasus and I'd be happy to offer help on anyone modeling USMC birds. Thanks
