  1. There is no aircraft in the US military that can compare to what the A-10 can do. They want to dump the A-10, F-16s, and legacy Hornets for a single jet that they won't fly into real CAS situations. What's going to happen to the military when the entire F-35 fleet is grounded due to an issue like the oxygen problems on the F-22?
  2. It's ridiculous that it took them this long to come to this conclusion.
  3. Mig's streaking grime. I mean I've seen some beat up Hornets, I just feel, for as clean as the rest of the jet is, minus the fuel tanks, the streaks are too stark. Maybe not even too stark, just too many leaks.
  4. Thanks! You know, the wings are actually my least favorite part of the weathering here. I feel like I really over-did the streaking. I was hoping it would tone down after the flat coat, but it really didn't.
  5. You know, I noticed that, and thought you were just playing a sick joke, trying to make me doubt my eyes that are already over stressed from scribing the Phantom.
  6. I have the Rivet-R Mini and I love it. Best riveter I've used. I love Sprue Brothers, but it's a lot cheaper at Hobbyworld-USA.
  7. Jimmy, is there any place that you're not? :D You really do. I'd like to see what you could pull off with a Hasegawa/Hobby Boss Hornet.
  8. That's quite possible. They're on wrong anyway, they're set too far in and not flush with the vert. stabilizer. Thanks!
  9. Thanks, Steve. This was pretty much my third kit after really getting back into last year.
  10. Nice work! The only thing that catches my eye are the inside of the leading edge slats. I feel like they are a bit too clean. But I really like the overall variation you have in the finish.
  11. Hey everyone! Just posted this over at the Display Case, but then realized we're not allowed to critique there, so I bumped it over here. It's been a long time since I've been active on any forums, but I've gotten back into the game lately and figured I'd share my latest work, Hasegawa's 'D' model legacy Hornet. It's finished with decals from Twobobs' and weapons stolen from an old Tamiya F-16 build. I won't post all the pictures here, but if you're interested in the WIP photos and the full finished build album, it can be found here. I appreciate all your comments and critiques, it

  13. Here is my 1/48th Tamiya F-16C with Twobobs "Buckeye Vipers" decals. Thanks for looking!
  14. To answer my own question, I found the Aerofax book on Amazon... $4,392 for a new copy!!! I think maybe when I pay my car off I'll take out a loan...
  15. Thanks for the help guys! Sernak - Do you know if that book is available on Amazon?
  16. I'm going to be starting Revell's 1/32nd Bell X-1 and I'm looking for some good detail photos and technical diagrams. I've found a couple basic diagrams online, but I'll be rescribing the panels and I'd like to have some official diagrams to go by. Does anyone have actual diagrams from Bell or know where they can be found?
  17. Yes sir! There is also red piping on the jacket. If his cover (his hat) is also included in the bust, the emblem on the front is solid gold.
  18. The dress blue "alpha" and "bravo" uniforms are a black jacket with blue trousers. Depending on the rank of the Marine, the trousers have a red "blood stripe" on the outside of each leg. The blue that Exhausted shows looks pretty accurate for the trousers.
  19. Thanks, Fort! To be honest, that was the scariest part of the build for me. This is the first base that I ever made but I'm so so happy with how it turned out. There are a lot of things that I'll remember for future builds, but I think I'm actually more proud of the base than the model.
