Model building of all types. Dogs. My 1971 Chevelle. Family and friends
  1. I know the kits are the same. I thought I could save a few bucks on aftermarket decals. The Italeri decals look better than the AMT ones. Some aftermarket decal sets for the 1/72 B-52 sell for $34.95 each nowadays! I didn't pay that much for my Monogram 1/72 B-52D that I bought at K-Mart back in the early 70's! I think I paid something like $22.00 for it. (Remember when k-mart sold model kits) Anyhoo...I just bought an AMT B-52H on e-bay for $60.00. One went for something like $96.00 2 days ago! I think I did good. Thanks for the intell fella's Mike
  2. Looking for a 1/72 B-52H from Italeri. Must be complete and un-built. I see AMT kits on E-Bay but no Italeri. Anyone have one for sale? Know anyone with one for sale? I can pay through Paypal. PM me and let me know. Any intell is welcomed. Thanks in advance. Mike
  3. Wow!! What a fantastic Build Tim ! I think I'll use your ratio formula and save the Tamiya AS-5 for my 1/24 Stuka. Thanks again! Mike
  4. Tamiya AS-5 Luftwaffe light blue is a very close match if my monitor is not deceiving me. I held the decal set up to the screen and the Blue/Green diamonds seem the same to my eye. I ordered a can. If not.... mix it myself and airbrush it is. :D
  5. I received my decal set from Nazca and there are no paint code recommendations included. Any idea what FS code the blue/green of the rear fuselage I should use ? Any intell is welcomed. Mike
  6. Got my first order. 1/144 Cathay Pacific 747-8F Hong Kong trader set. Decals look excellent. I'm a little puzzled that there are no FS paint codes provided. Any intell of what color blue-Green for the rear fuselage I should use ? It appears to be more Green/Blue than the standard Cathay pacific sky blue FS2550. Any ideas ? Jennings? Anyone ?
  7. I ordered 3 1/144 L-1011 sets and the 1/144 747-8F Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Trader Set. :wave:/> Mike
  8. Thanks! I never have any problems with Joy Decals and recommend them highly. There are some Nazca sets however that are not listed on Joy's website that I would like to get. I will give it a go and order a couple of sets direct from Nazca. Mike
  9. Any intell on Nazca Decals. I ordered the 1/144 747-8F Cathay Pacific set through Joy Decals. They are on Back order right now and could take several more weeks before they ship. Is it faster to buy them direct from Nazca's website? I have bought from Joy Decals without any problems. There are quite a few other decal sets that I would like to buy from Nazca that ore only listed with them. Before I do I am looking for feedback as I have never used their decals before. Any Info is welcomed. Mike
  10. The 747-8f Decals I ordered are indeed Nazca through Joy decals. The standard scheme. I ordered 2 bottles of LifeColor RAAF Sky Blue LC-UA 515 from the UK as it matches the FS code provided by Jennings. Thank You Sir!
  11. Thanks. The closest match I could find in a spray can is either Tamiya PS-48 Silver or Tamiya AS-5 Luftwaffe blue. The best match of all I would have to apply with an airbrush. LifeColor RAAF Sky Blue LC-UA 515. I have never used any of the LifeColor range. Before I order it from Airbrush Online in the UK has anyone used this paint? Again, Any intell is welcome. Thanks in advance! Mike
  12. I am starting 2 new 1/144 747's using the Revell 747-400(Lufthansa) and Revell 747-8F (Cargolux)kits. I have ordered both sets of decals that I need for Cathay Pacific birds. My question is what color of gray do I use for the main band on the fuselage? It looks to be a gray pearl of some type. Almost a faint blue. Any hobby paints that come close? Any intel ? Any ideas? Thanks in advance! Mike
  13. WTB 1/32 Hasegawa f-5E Tiger II. For a build, not to collect. Can pay through Paypal or by Postal Money Order. Thanks in advance. Mike
