  1. Thanks for the link. I'll reach out and see what happens. Have a great week!
  2. Thanks for the information. However, I'm looking for drawings for the other service structure that had the crew access arm. I think LVM Studios made one, but they seem to be defunct. I searched, but can't seem to find anything suitable, just a few photos here and there. Thanks, Troy
  3. Does anyone know where I could find some drawings of the LUT on launch complex 14? I recently purchased the "All Systems Go" Mercury Atlas kit and I though I might attempt a scratch build of the LUT to add to the detail. Thanks, Troy
  4. Thanks! I really appreciate the kind words. I wish I would have been able to get to the other side. There is a chance that we will have a different view when they rollback to the VAB sometime before the end of the year. The crawler was really impressive. We were less than 60 feet away as it passed by.
  5. Hello, Just in case anyone may be interested in reference photos of the new SLS Mobile Launcher, I have uploaded a gallery taken on Saturday, October 12 about 600 feet from the mobile launcher at Pad 39B during the wet flow test of the sound suppression water system. https://troymcclellanphotos.smugmug.com/SLS-Mobile-Launcher-Reference/ Here is a link of some video that I shot of the actual test and a closeup video of the rollout back in late June: https://vimeo.com/366082526 - Water Deluge Test https://vimeo.com/344872632 - Crawler w
  6. Manfred, Glad the images helped. I've thought about scratch building a small scale LC-41, but I have too many irons in the fire at the moment. I'm really enjoying watching the progress on your build, it's outstanding!! Have a great weekend, Troy
  7. Hello, I was out for remote camera setup yesterday for the Atlas V GPS 2-F11 launch and I had a moment to get a few shots showing the new launch tower that is being built at Pad 41 to support the Boeing CTS. I'll try to get some more detailed shots the next time I'm out. https://troymcclellanphotos.smugmug.com/Category/Atlas-V-GPS-2-F11 I hope this is useful, Troy
  8. Rob, Nice shots! The lighting inside the Atlantis exhibit does make photography challenging, but yours look great. I was fortunate enough to see the last 3 shuttle flights from the KSC Press Site. What an experience. In addition, I shot the final rollout's of Discovery and Atlantis from inside the VAB and pad tours the morning after rollout. I remember the empty feeling the VAB had as we walked out after Atlantis has cleared the doors for the last time. There were no more SRB segments and other parts to support a future launch in the various areas along the transfer aisle, but I did make so
  9. Are you going to apply for media credentials? If so, PM me and we can connect at the KSC Press Site.
  10. Thanks for the kind words. Hopefully I can get some more shots when the move it to the pad next week.
  11. Here are a few shots that I took on Friday in the United Launch Alliance Horizontal Integration Facility at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station during a media event. I'm not sure if anyone is building a Delta IV Heavy/Orion EFT-1 model, but I wanted to share some images that might help. I hope to have more shots when the move it to Complex 37 and then some pad shots during tower rollback before the launch. Enjoy, Troy
  12. Hotdog, Are the decal for the Revell 1/144, Airfix, or both? They look great by the way and I would be interested in a set. Do you have a time frame for release? Thanks, Troy
  13. Let me know if you are planning a trip and I can meet you over there if me schedule allows. I'm only a couple of hours away. Troy
  14. I'm heading over next month for the MUOS 2 Atlas V launch and I'm hoping to have time to go see what they have done with here. The last time I saw her was when she was moved from the VAB to the new building at the Visitor's Center that was still under construction. There were a few media events to see the new center over the last few weeks, but I have been up to my eyeballs with other projects and could not attend. I can't wait to see photos!
  15. Cool shots! I plan on being over there for the upcoming Delta 4 launch. If I have time I'll drive by and check out the progress. As cool as this display is going to be, I still wish they were flying!
  16. I can't wait to see the Atlantis exhibit. I was there with a group of media the day they moved her from the VAB to the current building location. I also had the chance of a lifetime to stand next to her on the MLP the morning after her STS-135 rollout. Walking under the ET and Boosters mockup to enter Atlantis will bring back some great memories. Here are a few of my shots of Atlantis. It's hard to believe that it has been almost two years since the last shuttle mission. I have been at several launches at the Cape since the shuttle and while they are still exciting it does not com
  17. You could try contacting Revell to get a replacement part. I did that for the 1/72 shuttle kit. If I remember there is a place on their website to order replacement parts. You can get up to five different parts from a given kit and you will just need to provide the kit number and the part numbers/descriptions. It did take a while to get the parts, but it did work out well for me. I hope this helps. Troy
  18. Mike, Absolutely stunning!! You are a true artist and I hope to see some more of you incredible work soon. Take care, Troy
  19. I met The Last Shuttle team while I was there for the various media events on the last three flights and their work is amazing. Me and an associate spent about an hour inside the cockpit of Atlantis back in September to shoot fisheye images for full dome planetarium projection. Here is a shot from the back of the flight deck. Seeing that 360 pan brought back great memories. I was also struck by how small it really is inside of the cabin. I plan to go see Atlantis at the visitors center with my kids this summer. It is sort of surreal to think that I was able to sit in the seats of such a ma
  20. Spaceman, I'm glad that my shots were able to help you. As a rule, they don't usually allow non-workers underneath the MLP, but somehow it worked out. My associate and I were out shooting circular fisheye images for use in full dome planetarium productions and I tried to shoot as many reference shots that I could think of. By the way, your build is amazing! I can't wait to see it finished with a shuttle on it. Troy
  21. I forgot that they did a swap and I'm glad you liked the photos. The one looking up at the fixed structure with the buzzards overhead was sort of fitting. It was like they were circling over a dead pad. I am sure 39A will be used again, but the future is far from certain. One of our guides worked at the Cape during Mercury, Gemini, Apollo and Space Shuttle. He talked about being in the firing room during Apollo 10. He will be 89 years old next month and is the oldest volunteer at the KSC PAO office. His stories are amazing!
  22. I had a great opportunity to tour the "Rubber Room" and emergency bunker underneath Pad 39A on Wednesday. I also was able to get into the flame trench and underneath the MLP at the pad surface. It has been there since Atlantis left in July of 2011. I want to give a special thanks to the PAO staff at the KSC NASA News Center! Below is the link to all of my photos and I hope they can be of use. 39A Reference Photos
  23. Everything is looking great! I'm planning on using a similar technique for the decals on my 1/72 build. I have been going back and forth on whether to use clear decals or white, but after seeing your clear results I think it's the way to go. I can wait to see the rest of it!
  24. Mike, I looks really good! I think once you weather it up a bit the shades of gray begin to diffuse into lighter and darker shades. No matter what, your work is stunning! Have a Merry Christmas, Troy
  25. Thanks Mike. What did you use for the weathering? What are you using for your clear coat? I had thought about using Microscale flat or satin clear.
