Sad to report....Uncle Rick Chin has passed away
The Migrant replied to Colin K's topic in General Discussion
Sad news, and quite a shock. I've dealt with Rick on many occasions, and he was hugely influential on the Calgary modelling scene. RIP, Rick. -
Another voice of support for Neven. I know him personally and have done several deals, in which he was more than fair.

Vancouver IPMS show October 8th, 2011
The Migrant replied to Chris Cowx's topic in General Discussion
Great execution on Tamiya's 1/32 Spit. Only one I've seen finished: Airfix 1/24 Mosquito Hasegawa 1/72 T-33 in CAF scheme Tamiya 1/48 Skyraider motorised and illuminated on a diorama base. Big Trumpeter 1/32 Su-25 with immmaculate camo work. 1/72 post-war Czech He-111, from the Italeri kit. -

It was an excellent show, some really nice stuff there and it was good to see Wayne Hui's 1/48 Tornado. Here are a few of the many pics I shot:- Drew Hatch's 1/48 CH-53. Very big, very nice. Hobbycraft 1/72 Banshee Airfix 1/48 Sea Vixen A beautiful build of Revell's 1/32 Ju88 Nice paintwork on Special Hobby's 1/32 P-39 A rarely seen kit: Aeroclub 1/48 DHC Chipmunk in Canadian markings. -
Beautiful work Nige.

Thanks again guys, glad you like it.

Thanks so much for the comments! Sorry Chuk, I didn't get that memo

Very, very nice. Camo looks superb.

The Airfix 1/72 kit. Not the most accurate Fiat G-91 out there but I had fun with it. Re-scribed and home made decals.
-
Thanks for your comments, much appreciated. You're not mistaken, it is the build from the article. Cheers Terry, I used paper masks held just off the surface with blutack.

1/72 Airfix kit, with a bit of extra work.

Hi Steffen I did receive your e-mails, and responded to both- both times they bounced back. Please PM me and we can sort out your order. Thanks to everyone else who responded with endorsements, and thanks Stew for alerting me to this thread. Mike

Prices in Canadian dollars. You can order through the Sprue Monster site or PM/e-mail me with your order; either way I'll get a shipping cost to you before you decide. Shipping will be at cost and, due to exorbitant international costs, only to the US and Canada. - 1:24 Tamiya - Fiat 500F : CAD 12.00 | link to details - 1:24 Moebius - Lost In Space Chariot : CAD 25.00 | link to details - 1:32 Eduard - Bf 109E-1 Profipack : CAD 50.00 | link to details - 1:32 ARII - Mazda R360 : CAD 10.00 | link to details - 1:48 Hobbycraft - Seversky P-35 : CAD 10.00 | link to details - 1:48 Dra

A-26 "Always" Firebomber decals SOLD
The Migrant replied to kg4kpg's topic in Buy and sell - add scale to your title
That's a good deal :) (Pssst, it's 'Grant' BTW) :P -
Looks really nice, Yuri. Paint chipping technique worked really well.

Thanks for all your comments Cheers Isaac, I used stretched sprue. Thanks Greg; I think the wing shape of the Revell kit is more accurate too, but I enjoyed the Academy build a little more (despite the rear fuselage split). Cheers Steve, it's a mix of Tamiya red-brown and blue-grey, thinned with Gunze thinner and lightly airbrushed.

Thanks a lot for your comments guys.

Built as a companion to my Academy P-51B, this is Revell-Germany's 1/72 P-51B finished as Lt. Joe Blackburn's Little Joe, 5th FS, 52nd FG, 15th AF, Italy June 1944. My own markings, otherwise completely OOB. Here's a pic of both of my P-51B's, Academy's and the Revell-Germany version.

Thanks Brad. I use Future for the gloss coat, Gunze Mr Hobby flat for the final coat. Admittedly both finishes detract slightly from the true metallic nature of the Alclad but since the aircraft in service wasn't a highly-polished finish, it looks fine with the metallic muted down. Mike

Thanks for your kind comments Thanks Moeggo; probably not as a general release, although I'd be willing to do short-run ALPS decals for those who were interested. Cheers Najk; fuselage was Alclad aluminum, wings were Alclad white aluminum. For everything else I used various Tamiya acrylics thinned with Gunze self-levelling thinner, which sprays beautifully.

Here's my first completion of 2010, the Academy 1/72 P-51B finished as 'Scarlet Kate', personal mount of Maj. George R. Rew, 361st FG, 8th AF. Kit has a True Details cockpit but is otherwise mostly from the kit. Decals are my own.

I love your work Joe, everything so sharp and clean (unlike the sensor on your camera) Looking forward to next year's output, what's in your plans?

Very nice Nev, there's no sign at all that you've struggled with the fit of some parts – difficult to achieve on an all-silver airframe. I totally agree with you about the panel lines on the newer Airfix kits, they do need toning down.
