  1. >> Everyone does anybody know the contact details (for feedback) of F4Models? Dear Sir, a contact form is now available on http://f4models.blogspot.com/ Regards, Alex
  2. Dear JackMan - no trouble at all. I'm doing some research for the same purpose as you do: to build an accurate Tracer. An, sadly, I find that neither the Mach2's kit radome nor the RVHP's conversion set have nothing in common with the real thing. Neither in planform nor in profile nor in front view. I will probably have to scratch-built it entirely. If I do, I will be sure to make copies. Regards, Alex
  3. >> Looked at many pics & was not able to find one that truly shows the Tracer’s radome from a direct top view While this hardly can be called a top quality photo, at least it is better than nothing. A Google's satellite view for you, a direct top one if I'm not mistaken: Found on maps.google.com, coordinates 40.764517,-74.000457 Regards, Alex
  4. A great work! I'm truly amazed at how well the water, the hut ant the pier are done. PS: I suppose the scale is 1/48; it's always good mentioning a parameter so critically important for every model (even more important than naming your aircraft, since most of us can actually see what aircraft it is : ) Respect, Alex
  5. Loach Driver, thanks a lot for your answer! I see.... Regarding the Merlin's kit: I saw a review somewhere... and I intend to avoid closer acquaintance.
  6. Dear colleagues, Has anyone, by chance, stumbled upon some decent drawings for the Kaman HH-43 helicopter? I'm especially interested in the earlier piston-driven USN & USMC versions, HOK-1 / HUK-1; they are quite different from the later turbine-powered ones, as you surely know. I'm aware about a book on the HH-43, titled "Kaman H-43: An Illustrated History" (by Wayne Mutza, published by Schiffer). Has anyone had a look inside? Does it contain any worthwhile drawings? Since the book costs quite a few bucks, I'm a bit reluctant to order it only to find out that there are no drawings,
  7. >> that they were correct for F-14s not Super Hornets? Dear hornet97, what time period we are talking about, exactly? The last F-14s were retired from service in 2006; the first F-18Es have arrived on the decks in 2001-2002. So, as you see, there is an overlap. Therefore the talk of "Tomcats vs SHornets" is not technically correct; we have to address a specific timeframe. Here's a larger photo of the Hasegawa's guys: http://www2.gpmd.com/imagel/h/lhsgs1886.jpg What items of their gear do you deem incorrect for, say, early 2000s? Let's take a look at the actual photos of the deck
  8. Yes, there are at least two 1/48 kits from SkunkModels: http://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?item_no=SW-48003 and http://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?item_no=SW-48005 The compressor is totally wrong however, and you'll have to correct it.
  9. Just in case anyone's interested, we will soon be issuing an 1/72 resin kit for this particular type of the USAF "bobtail" (FLTT, or Flight Line Tow Tractor): http://www.379aew.afcent.af.mil/shared/media/photodb/photos/080912-F-5774B-015.jpg Regards, Alex
  10. I wonder why CMK is mentioned in the header? They are not the only guys who do various pilot / crew sets, especially in 1/48. Here's a set that I think could fit your needs: http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/HAX4806 That's a USN pilot / crew set from Hasegawa.
  11. This would be the A/S32A-31A. The 1/72 kit from the F4Models company: The real thing: http://www.navy.mil/view_single.asp?id=120424 http://www.navy.mil/view_single.asp?id=126076 http://www.navy.mil/view_single.asp?id=121288 And a link to my article on all USN flight deck tractors: http://www.arcair.com/Gal12/11901-12000/gal11948-Tractors-Suvorov/00.shtm
  12. >> Where did you order it though? I can't find it anywhere Have a look at www.F4Models.blogspot.com; there is a list of hobbyshops there that stock this manufacturers's kits.
  13. This is how this tractor would look "in action", with an aircraft in tow: PS: the F-14 model is very old and is only acting as a stage prop here.
  14. Ok... It seems that only one modeller is interested in this subject. Can't call this encouraging in terms of production plans.
  15. Hi All Keeping in mind that two Royal Navy flight deck tractor kits have been lately released by our company (both are in 1:48 scale), I'm thinking about continuing in the same direction. But I would appreciate your help in deciding upon a particular flight deck tractor type to try next. For ease of reference, here's a diagram that shows all major flight deck tractor types used by the Royal Navy throughout the years. We've covered #1 and #4, so what next? What say you? And may I please take a liberty and ask you to be personal: which kit would you, in particular, want for yourself? (and
