  1. That turned out quite masterfully . It's a fitting tribute. I think I've found a new favorite scheme for the B-24. On most planes overall Dk. Green looks kind of blah to me, but somehow it gives the Lib a more menacing appearance.
  2. That's pretty amazing right there. You do some seriously awesome quality work.
  3. Oh yeah, definitely leave them up. Those are a great reference and even if they didn't get used much, they'd be a godsend when someone did need them. Interesting that when Googling "aircraft revetment photos" or variations of that, that this thread is pretty consistently at the top of the list but your album isn't even listed.
  4. I was just spraying some of that stuff today to prime a drywall repair and I gotta say there's no way in H-E double hockey sticks that goop is ever getting near one of my plastic kits. Though now that I think about it it might work well for the ablative coating used on the X-15.
  5. Ah, I missed that the first time around. At least a few others did as well. Thanks for the links to more info, guys. As far as the interior goes, here is a link to a Google translation of the interior shots. He gives pretty good descriptions as he walts through it. Also, here's a link to all 3 parts of the series he had posted on his blog, which is well worth exploring for some awesome images.
  6. I found this linked on another site and thought it was too good not to share. What an incredible craft. I wonder what type of missile/rocket those launchers on top were designed to fire.
  7. How about some love for the C-5 Galaxy? A new tooling in 1/144 would make the most sense, I guess, but I can dream about bigger can't I? The only other one I've really wanted would be a 1/48 HU-16 Albatross. But that's been taken care of in resin and apparently a styrene kit is in works as well. So sometimes dreams do come true.
  8. Now there's what I like to see, a subject that doesn't get much love. You've done a nice clean job of it, too . Just need to get one of the KP XFY-1's to go next to it.
  9. Nice looking kits. It's good to see that Tamiya seems to be running with their 1/48 line of "targets". Makes for some very neat diorama possibilities when combined with same-scale aircraft. :D
  10. Nice deal on the fan there & good to know it's not a big noisemaker. You could always swap the power switch for a rheostat to control the fan speed/airflow? :D
  11. Definitely a sweet build of a really cool subject. :D
  12. Looks like good progress so far. I'm curious as to how loud a blower like that is.
  13. Well here are a few I dredged up from the depths of the CD stacks that might be of some interest. These are the taxi-out and takeoff of Raptor 01's second flight. Not long after its first flight (which I got to see on final approach) I got a call from a friend who worked at Lockheed asking if I wanted to come out and see the F-22 on display. Needless to say I said &$#! YEAH. When she said I could bring my camera I almost cried, partly for the opportunity, and partly because the only film I had on hand was a couple of rolls of portrait film (Fuji NPH) which was not exactly ideal for the sit
  14. Can't forget the Genie. There are no nuke-tipped AAM's in active service to my knowledge. I'd guess the accuracy of modern missiles is good enough that they're not needed. Well, plus the whole "raining fallout over whatever happens to be below" thing. :D
  15. Holy mackerel, that thing is HUGE! Awesome looking build, especially considering you built the cargo compartment open. So where the heck do you display something like that? :P
  16. You seem to be off to a good start. Ought to be a spectacular addition to your collection. Looking forward to seeing it come together.
  17. Eagle Strike Decals #48235, Voodoo Flight Part 1, has markings for 2 NMF F-101B's from the 28th ADW; one from the 437th FIS, and one from the 15th. edit: and they're in-stock at Squadron
  18. Once again, my mind is boggled. Truly incredible work. Thank you for sharing it.
  19. Here is a good page that should let you know what specs to look for for your particular application. Once you figure out what CFM rating you're looking for, go back to the Grainger page, search for "Cage Fan", narrow the results to HVACR and blowers, then sort the list by price and scroll down until you find a fan that meets the spec you need. The 1TDV3 ought to do pretty well unless you're making a very large booth, or need lots of plumbing to vent it.
  20. Cool! This is one that's in my stash, so I'll be watching your build to get a preview. Love the Albatross & looking forward to seeing how this one comes together..
  21. Nice looking build. I like the heavy loadout; it gives it a cool, menacing look.
  22. Wow, those are really cool. What scale are they? I'm actually kind of surprised that the grain doesn't come out looking too large. Great idea and very nice execution.
