  1. Here are a few images of 'Easy Money' I took on Redstone when I was working the CH-47J project with PEO Aviation. I have a full walk-around. Last photograph of the ACH-47A is an official 1st CAV 8x10 taken at Ah Khe, RVN. All the images are mine and from my collection.   3. Ray thanks for the correction on the TOW s/n. I did notice the traverse and elevation wheels on this unidentified system. I'm thinking they were likely just to boresight otherwise completely impractical. Not a very optimal design although the tubes are definitely for the larger rockets than the 2.75" FFAR. The mounting arm itself or something similar looks to have been used by at least on one gunship with the Gunslingers of the 128th AHC in Vietnam. I've not seen it employed outside of this unit. I guess that system on the 58 will remain a mystery. I've always thought
  4. Well it looks like April 2016 was the last post made here and far be it from me to revive a thread. I was looking for information on some things I had squirreled away. The first two were taken on Redstone Arsenal back in tthe MICOM days and these 8x10s have 1964 dates on them. Obviously the system was a No Go at this station but any details would be nice to know. The only one's I haven't posted do not give a sharp decent view of the underbelly attachment points however as you can see they structurally enhanced the nose with rod like they did for Hueys equipped with the M5 nose mounted grenade launcher. 2 attachment points along the avionics panel for the support rods attached to the main Elephant Brander boom and there were two on the underbelly for the brander itself. Only one appears to have had the extra tail mounted blade antenna. There is also a longitudinal beam across the underbelly in the first image with a whip antenna mounted.

Still has many of the era specifics such as the FS Safety Orange sync elevators, gull gray mast and hubs before they went to black, all OD nose. 17160 - if anyone can help with a full s/n that would be great. Just my two cents Monogram / Revell UH-1C Huey Hog / Air Force - There's enough in this kit for me to favor it despite some of the other discrepancies not listed in Ray's review (anti-collision lights have to be fixed between UH-1B/C, frustrating poor fit of roof to cabin body, molded on windshield wipers, dog house gap, no nose mounted pitot for UH-1B, nose mounted FM Antenna have to be removed for a UH-1C, no hell hole, M21 system has to be tweaked, etc).   19. Ray, I've got a bunch of 35mm slides from Operation Deep Freeze 1963-64 with those first Hueys from Ft. Lewis. That was in the bunch. He was also at An Khe later on in 1966. They are scanned in at 4416x2944
  20. I do not remember the clever old CE I got this from but I have a painting document and this is just one part of it. Huey colors - Rotors, rotor head, scissor, push rods, links, swash plate and mast Viet-nam era UH-1 pylons (UH-1B,C, D, H, and M) were all painted roughly similar. Components were mixed and matched with out regard to color. So you could have a pair of "drive links" for example of which one was that gloss light gray with the other being just anodized and left that metallic silver color.   22. That is too cool about the OD on the models being affected by the varying light spectrum as well. Also I'm highly impressed with that OD you mixed with the blue for the early High Vis Hueys.
