Sorry didnt mean to offend you You are right enjoy. I was looking forward to this kit since it was announced a while back and was just disappointed in the execution. I was NOT unloading just trying to outline the issues with the kit which you address too in your IN Progress so I am just hoping the tooling in the Cougar is better. I dont dump on kits I only call it as I see it. I built the Hobbyboss F-105 (May SAMI) and many called that kit junk and inaccurate and I found it to be a rather good build. My biggest qualm is fit issues. Things like slime lights arent a problem for me-The exec

I am glad you like the F-101B but there have been some real nice builds of the Old Monogram kit and it can be had for pretty cheap I got one for $8.00 on HS last month. I hope KH cleans up the molding tech. a bit in their new releases. I am NOT the only one that thinks this kit is a bit of a let down in the fit and surface molding. I just like to see progression in kit tech. from 29 years ago. Again I would like to mention I am looking at this from the AVERAGE modelers standpoint and an objective review is required Please compare this kit other kits in its class and price to get perspecti

This isnt Negative hype. I am building the kit. and this is what I had to do. How did you fit the cockpit tub and nose wheel well without sanding? IT just fit? I am curious since What ever I did and I spent some time on the nose assembly the cockpit tub and nose wheel well would not fit in without some cutting and sanding of the parts. I had to cut off all tabs and fitting junctions and sand it down a good 2-4 mm of thickness to get the nose to close around the assembly. DID you have any dimples on the gun ports? They need to be filled and sanded? I had 3 kits at one time & ALL had

RATHER see a RF-101A/C First before a B which the Monogram kit is fine..just re-scribe it if you need one in 1/48 or build the outstanding Revell 1/72 w/ engraved panel lines! The Rf-101A/C needs to be done in 1/48 since it is the only Voodoo to serve in combat! With all this being said I shudder if it it like the current Voodoo-Please clean up the tooling and get things to fit better! Steve,

I am selling some 1/48 kits. The reason is simple I have what I call storage saturation! I just built a new display cabinet & I have an agenda for that & I cannot accommodate these kits. So I would like to scale back. I will consider ONLY select trade (see list). I am in the USA and I accept PAYPAL (preferred), Check and Money Orders SHIPPING is NOT included. LOOKING FOR: 1/72 OV-1A Mohawk decals

Hey That would be great let me know what you have in 1/72. Let me know what I can send your way? I have the Haseagwa kit with the white OV-1A markings ONLY which are pre-Vietnam era and somewhat uninspiring. Please email me directly: scorvi@verizon.net Steve, -
What was your impression of the build? I built one too but felt it was lacking in a few areas. Wing to fuselage fit and the wheel wells needed to be re-drilled ad formatted to accept the main gears. I also scrathbuilt most pars to the nose gear? Your looks great ! Steve,

I hope Fine Molds keep the license too? BUT Bandai stuffs is the BEST in the market if you havent looked at the new Space Battelship Yamato 2199 stuff There kits are even better than Tamiya if I may say that when it comes to fit and finish ? They snap togehter with no filling & details are superb! Steve -

How did you make out with the Burner cans? Mine would not fit properly w/o brute modeling strength? I am still working on the wing- to fuselage fit....BTW-I am also doing a Monogram F-101B as a dual build article for a magazine so it is interesting to see how Monogram 29 yo moldings are better in many ways than this new kit? The fit is a lot better on the Monogram kit-We can thank Bill Koster for that! At elast Monogram polished their friggin molds. What is up with that in China--Kinetic doesnt either? Overall it isnt terrible but it could be a lot better considering the price. I will ge

Those seats arent bad but for your money AMS is the best in 1/48 Gets every little details and has both seats and full cockpit http://www.amsresin.com/1-48_scale_sets.html No affiliation just a satisfied customer! Steve

Hasegawa's lineup at the Shizuoka Hobby Show 2014
scorvi replied to White Wolf's topic in Jet Modeling
Yes I believe it is Great Planes...real high distribution pricing in the USA I still dont think Hasegawa is cheap in Europe...maybe someone can chime in here to confirm. Asia is the cheapest for Hasegawa of course...seems HK is cheapest online Steve -

The 1/72 P-47 is from the 1970's a nice kit but very simple and there is the Tamiya kit in 1/72 for the ultimate T-bolt esp. when you factor in the pricing?? Steve -

You do realize that all those other kits are re-boxes and no new tooling. That being said over 90% of there new releases are re-boxes of old tooling some with raised panel lines and simple detail if that and have been superceded by other kit manufacturers! I know there is a loyalty to Hasegawwa akin to Monogram in this country but some new tooling would be nice just 1 kit every other year in each scale??? Besides my interest lies in 1/48 and those are NOT new tooling at all. Steve -

I know really 1970-80's tooling...They make some real nice kits but what have they done lately?? I loved there A-4's F-104's Drakens but it seems in the past 2-3 years there hasnt been anything really new out of them? Is this a bad omen? lets hope not? I know they do sci-fi and home market stuff that fills the coffers but they had a real nice line of 1/48 aircraft and there just hasnt been anything lately? Steve -

WOW Whats up with Hasegawa? No New 1/48 tools at all. Are they on Hiatus? Love to see them do something new in 1/48 Jet preferably but anything. They just seem to re-box everything with new art and decals. Anyone know why? bad economy etc??? Steve
