  1. After seeing this, Makes me want to "My stash!" Hands down, One of the finest builds out there!!! Congratulations for your huge achievement
  2. Well, Honestly I have three commission builds lined up. Gov. Bentley's Inflight Red tailed Viper and two more F-16s to build. I'm wanting to start on one of my 32nd Tamiya kits after these are in the books. Thinking of doing an Ohio jet 87-222? Maybe late fall?
  3. Bryan, Every time I see this thing, I cannot help drooling allover my PC keyboard! This build is one of the Finest looking F-16 builds that my eyes have seen! Truly Amazing...I never get bored looking at this giant Viper!
  4. Outstanding job on your Have Glass Viper! Cool loadout too! Hopefully here soon we'll start seeing some decals for the new 5th Gen. Have Glass painted Vipers!
  5. Thanks for the comments everyone! Aaron, Yes sir, this is actually built to a block 30 A/C. The 181st had (NSI) "Smallmouth" intake GE powered jets The last serial # to have the small intake is 86-0261. The first jet to have the (MCID) Largemouth intake is # 86-0262 All of the MI.jets were Block 30s and had the Smallmouth intake. Are you planning to build your model on a Tamiya kit? If so, Grab a Block 25/32 ANG. kit. The only extra parts that you will need are GE related. I have spares so if you need these, I can help you out! Send me a PM here. The Fox One decals are great decals. You shoul
  6. Thanks buddy! I have 5 32nd scale Vipers in my little stash Even have the Sufa but I'm kind of leaning towards building a D out of it instead of the I. I have learned alot from guys on these forums and being that I have only been at this hobby for about a year and a half now, I'm pretty happy with my results. I used to build as a kid...Oh about 20-25 yrs. ago I remember using Testors tube glue "Not following directions" and enamels right out of the bottle, Silvered decals....What a mess! But as a kid, I thought that I had built something great!
  7. Thanks guys! Bryan, Your Masterpiece of the Sufa, Blows mine out of the water buddy...LOL!
  8. Hello guys, Here is the latest build from my bench. 1/48 Tamiya Blk 25/32 kit, Mix of Afterburner and Fox One decals, Shull24 resin GE nozzle. Painted with Mr Color paints. I'd like to give a shout out to Jake Melampy and Dave Cook for sending me some walk around photos of this jet...Thanks guys! "Couldn't have done it without your help" The plate on the base is an actual piece of an F-16 flaperon that has been lazer engraved. Any questions you may have, I'll do the best I can to answer them. Thanks for looking at this build of a Viper from my home state.
  9. Very nice indeed! Your paint work is Amazing!...Now I have to go back and drool over it again!!! Mike.
  10. Hey buddy great job on your Viper! You nailed the look of those leaky panels on top of the fuselage. You did a fantastic job with the Academy kit. Not sure, was this the 332nd deployment? Mike.
  11. Very nice job indeed! Stellar paint work!
  12. I'd like to get involved in this GB. Okay to do build some ANG. Vipers? So many to choose from! 1/32 scale okay? I have a couple in mind that I'm gonna be building out of Tamiya 32nd scale kits Thinking of doing a Blk. 30 NSI 181st FW. #85-1500 and a Blk 30 MCID from the 178th FW. #87-0222 Will one of these be okay to enter? Mike
  13. Thanks for all of the comments and a warm welcome guys!
  14. Thanks for your comment! The bases are cheap wooden blanks purchased at Hobby Lobby for .99 cents each. To get the finish, I sprayed the bases with Floquil textured model railroading spraypaint (Also purchased at Hobby Lobby) This stuff comes in several different colors...I chose sand to kind of fit the theme as a deployed A/C flying over the desert! Finished off with a patch to show off the Squadron. Here are some photos to show how I mounted them up! The white square tubing is from Plastruct 3/16"/4.8mm The rod exteding from the base is Carbom fiber square tube .125" OD x .060
  15. Simply Amazing! Fantastic job...Your HGU-55/P flight helmet looks really nice displayed under the build also
  16. Dave, Thank you Sir! I'm gonna try and build 260 as best as I can for ya. I know that you took really good care of your jet, You know me though...I have to throw in some shading with the airbrush. I'll try to keep it more on the lines as a cleaner looking Viper...LOL!
  17. Dave, Thanks for all of your hard work on the flightline keeping those F-16s airworthy! Guys like you are a huge asset to this hobby we call modeling.

I hope that I will do your jet some justice in the end my friend.

    Mike.

  18. Thanks alot guys I'm trying to finish up another Inflight Tamiya f-16 build, Wearing markings from the 113th FS. out of Terre Haute IN. serial #86-260 Pics comming soon!
  19. Nice job Kevin, Paint and weathering look fantastic
  20. Thanks Jake! I know that your an Ohio guy. I miss seeing the Vipers from the 178th as well! I have the Twobobs sheet in 32nd scale set aside for my Tamiya 178th build...Triple Two again. Not sure if I'm gonna add the Grave Digger noseart though?
  21. Thanks for the comments guys! The hydraulic staining around the slats were done using, Winsor & Newton oil paint. (Burnt Umber) Straight out of the tube. Dab it on, (With a tooth pick) and drag it back with a Q-tip until you get the affect of your liking. Really easy! I know that when these A/C are Stateside, They are kept really clean. I tend to favor dirty A/C...Looks like they have been around the block a few times! Sorry for leaving out the scale, All three are 1/48 scale. 336 has a closed burner can donated from a Hasegawa F-14D kit Some after market parts were used. Cross delta S
  22. Hi guys, I'm new to this forum and would like to share a few of my builds! All three are Tamiya kits that were built and given to the guys with the 100th FS. Thanks for looking! Mike.
