  1. Impressive stuff. I wanna get a full set (lights, sound and motors) for my 1/48 C-47. Trumpeter's new fire engine would be cool with a dedicated kit too.
  2. It's a small world, but I wouldn't want to paint it.
  3. As for the helo, do you plan on having the rotor spinning? If so, what about using a clear disc and airbrushing it to simulate the blur from the rotor? I've seen pics of this (haven't actually seen it in person) but some look pretty convincing IMO.

    FOD COVERS

Okay, I'm gonna show my ignorance here...what does FOD stand for and why exactly are they used?
  5. As to colour my first thought was Testors Blue Angels blue.
  6. Whoa, where'd ya get that from? Issit yours? Been released in kit form or scratchbuilt? RC? Scale? Inquiring minds wanna know. Thanks for the pic!!
  7. 1/48 CH-54 Skycrane 1/35 CH-54 Skycrane 1/24 CH-54 Skycrane (okay, maybe that last one is wishful thinking)
  8. I may be missing something, but where would I find pics of the Prowler GB from earlier this year?
  9. Quick note about philgold, came through with some parts for me and has been a pleasure to deal with. Buy/trade with confidence.

    A-4 nose gear

Always wondered, why is the nose gear on the A-4 so tall?
  11. I have the 1/48 Black Box Prowler set #48003. I know there's also another set #48033. Which one is newer and what's the diff between the two?
  12. I haven't tried this but how about using stretched gray sprue?
  13. Any suggestions on how to tint the canopy glass on the 1/48 Monogram Prowler? Seems to me the clear tinted parts provided are too yellow.
  14. DUH! Why didn't I think of that? :) Thanks Don.
  15. Just received a refund for postage from Milam Models (also known as "jetpilotpaul") for a purchase on eBay. Turns out postage wasn't as much as he'd quoted so he sent some back. It's the first time a seller on eBay has ever done that for me and a welcome turn of events after getting burned on my last purchase from another seller. Bid with confidence from this one. Barry TB2
  16. Thanks Kasatka! Never heard of the Modeller's Close-Up before.
  17. What's the best "walkaround"-type book for reference?
  18. As a fan of less-than-mainstream subjects, that would be a welcome addition. Best of luck guys!
  19. I'm in. Might encourage me to actually start/finish my C-47. May 1,2007 sounds good. I'll have time to learn how to use my digital camera and upload pics (yup, I'm a newbie at this stuff).
  20. That hangar looks great. The thing I find with paper models is that when combined with more three-dimensional (plastic, resin) models they don't look terribly realistic. However the patterns can always be transferred to plastic cardstock then scribed and have details added. Bet it would look really nice. My .02.
  21. Yup, everything you've read is true. Dave's a stand-up guy and great to deal with (just got a 1/32 F/A-18A cockpit from him) . Buy/trade with no worries. Thanks Dave!
  22. Skyraider, if you don't have any luck on ARC try www.blapmodels . Located in London, Ontario Canada. I've met Dave and can attest to the quality of his products. Click on the picture titled 'resin casting' at the top of the page. Good luck. Barry TB2
  23. Ooh.. diggin' that. Did the kit allow a choice of the two versions?
