Problem solved. I received the Welsh Models kit today, and it actually includes the Ronin Decals set. Great decals too! Nils

Thanks for your reply. Do you know about any contact information for the people behind Ronin Decals? I could not find anything on their web site. My primary interest is to prepare for decals for Norwegian P-8s for my own Vingtor Decals range. Thus, any well done decals from other manufacturers are of great interest. Nils

Are these decals still available? I am thinking about the 1/72 scale set for the Welsh Models kit. I cannot find any place to order it. Nils

Very nice model of the YAV-8B om today's (6 May) main page. I would not trust "Viginator Decals" though. Being the manufacturer of Vingtor Decals, I suspect "Viginator" is a pirate manufacturer :) Nils

New Canadair Mk.5 Boeing Chase Plane Decals from Vingtor!
vingtor replied to Jennings's topic in Jet Modeling
Unfortunately the rear part of the fuselage stripe (behind the air brake) for the white scheme was designed with the thin black stripe on the wrong side, above the broader red stripe. This can easily be fixed by cutting the black stripe from the decal and reposition it beneath the red part. I plan to print corrected decals when I send my next print order to Boa, but this might be a few months away. Nils -
Thanks Niels! I had already found a couple of photos on the net, but these gave me additional information. If anyone have good photos that show markings details of the cockpit section and the tail fin after its repaint (in 2007/2008), these are still welcome. Nils

Hi, I am searching for recent photos of Royal Norwegian Air Force F-16AM 80-3666, with tail number 666. This aircraft has been deployed to Edwards AFB for some years as a test airframe for various upgrade programs. A couple of years ago the aircraft was repainted, apparently in the same colours as it had, but all stenciling and markings became non-standard (at least for a RNoAF aircraft). I am searching for photos of the aircraft in its new markings, to be used as reference for profiles. The aircraft now has a name written on the canopy framing, but I am not able to read it on the few (smal

Jens does have a point there. It's a nicely built model, but it's not accurate. Possibly a what if or fantasy category ..... :o Nils

The harness arrangement that Edgar describes was very common with Norwegian F-5A/Bs as well. I am currently building the CA F-5A model, and I was not too happy with the cockpit. Especially the seat is not accurate for the model I am building. It has a big "headrest" which is common vor T-38s and late F-5E/Fs I think. Myself I have used the Black Box F-5E cockpit (which has two types of seats) and modified this to F-5A standard. Nils

To me the Sabre photo looks like it's very poorly retouched. The stars tilts the wrong way. Nils

Hi, I made a set of decals for Norwegian F-86Ks earlier this year (please see Vingtor Decals web site). For the instruction sheet I didn't find any accurate drawings from which I could base new drawings from. Thus I measured up a F-86K on diplay at the local air museum. Please let me know if you are interested. Nils

The F-104G had bigger (wider) wheels than earlier models (including the F-104J). Thus the wheel well doors got bulges to make room for the wheels. The CF-104 had the narrow wheels, and doors without bulges. So if you cannot get hold of a CF-104 kit you can use a F-104J. The bulges on the Hasegawa F-104G kit doors are not very good, however. They're too square and too pronounced. The doors in Cutting Edge's detail set are much better. It has also the RWR antennas for the CF-104 (http://www.meteorprod.com/Artwork/CEC48266.jpg). Nils

Stencils and walkway lines were dark grey on the factory scheme (with the tiny roundels). After repainting, these are now black. Nils

Good work so far !! Have you got the decals ? Nils

I entered the ARC F-16 group build contest a couple of years ago with my model, thus the photo is still on ARC: It came 2nd in its category B) Nils
