  3. First I gotta say AWESOME work, and if you stare long enough you'll the model in picture with the hottie........
  4. Dude I've been off this forum too long, WOW is all I can say :jaw-dropping:
  5. and here are a few pictures I took before the just about final assembly. You'll note only one radio antenna is on the turret, the other I had to fill and re-drill its mounting hole and the other track return rollers are not installed yet.
  6. Heres the engine deck, I darkened the engine grille with a mix of lamp black water color paint, water and a drop of dish soap to break the surface tension of the water.
  7. been a while since I posted an update, but the builds just about done. I got all the road wheels painted and installed and the tracks painted and slightly weathered. The only hick up was a sliding fall it took on the way to a model club meeting about a week ago, I have to repaint and install a fender bracket. But anyway lol. Heres a few new pictures Heres the track lengths off the Tamiya M51, I just painted them black, dry brushed sliver and dusted them with the Tamiya weathering system.
  8. I got my hands on a Revell 1/32 F-18 model copyrighted 1980, I want to, if possible replace the nose and main landing gear struts from the kit with metal ones as well as the cockpit and seat with resin replacements, but heres the hang up, I cant find anything but main and nose wheels , and early Hornet decals, yeah right. Thanks for the help
  9. Nice pictures, always loved the look of a Phantom
  10. thanks for the nudge in the right direction, I'm going to scour the net to see what else I might be able to find, MIG and AK are really something else
  11. heres my issue, I dont have any idea where to start as far as weathering goes with this project. The idea is to set a derelict M4A1 sunken to point where only part of the drive sprockets are above ground level, the engine deck will be sunken to the open open engine compartment doors ( there will be a TREE sprouting from the engine compartment), the driver and A driver hatches are slightly open, the turret is rotated to one side, the cannon barrel has been cut off at the mantlet, the commanders cupola has all the vision blocks missing, its hatch is slightly open, and the loaders hatch is shut
  12. What do you have to offer in trade? I have the gun nose kit and would like to have the glass nose to replace it.
  13. I hope I can build my AMT T-55 to half the beauty of yours I might be PM'ing you to ask you some questions if you dont mind as well
  14. and now for some close ups I have some touching up to do on the road wheels and I still have six of them to finish painting, but I'm getting close.
  15. I didnt any work of substance last night, but I did put the track runs on just to see what would be involved later when I put them on for good. Heres some pictures of her on her feet, just remember that the tracks have yet to be painted and I still have some work to do overall.
  16. They both look awesome so far, I'd love to see you reveiw the T-2 when its all said and done, I've been looking to add one to my collection in 48th and I think thats the only one there is.
  17. Canning the parts from the other Sherman really kicked started my desire to get this one finished, so I've been working like crazy the last few days as youve seen from the pictures I posted yesterday. Anyway, yesterday I got the pioneer tools, as they were called, finished and installed. This is them in place before the paint. And after paint and permanently installed. Next is the outer road wheels. These were kind of tedious, I had to hand paint the rubber portions after airbrushing the hubs. This is a picture of either side before I'd completed the rubber portions, all twelve are
  18. I went to my local model clubs contest about a three weeks ago and bought an already built up but not painted Tamiya M51 Sherman and after giving the 51 a good looking over and decided I had wasted my money, so I tokk a close look at the running gear and decided use the road wheels from the Tamiya kit on this build. I had to open up the Cyberhobby axle holes but otherwise it wasnt too bad. Here she is on road wheels for the first time. I'm leaning toward using the Tamiya tracks as well since they fit the Cyberhobby drive sprockets. More to follow
  19. I love the old H-3, you did a great job re-creating her
  20. Thats definetly a looker, beautiful work
  21. thanks for the tips guys, I'm about to the painting point now, its so close I can almost taste it lol
  22. The big contruction area was the ventral fin I'd been working on. I looked at a picture of the 104 that illustrated the fin better than most pictures I had seen and trimmed the scratch built fin to about two thirds of its original size. Then I re-sanded it and drilled locator holes to put it as close to its correct spot as I could. Heres the end result I also installed the intake shock cones in the front of each intake. I'm so close to being ready to paint I almost cant stand it LOL. And here are some pictures of the front office with the canopy in place. I added a new pitot p
