    F-15I

nope, i have no intend on buying that kit, since i have a 1/32 Tamiya F-15E + all the conversion sets and decals to make a F-15I.....one day Details specifics ? lots of small things, major ones are the exhausts (carbon fiber "feathers" installed) Xtra chaff/flare containers in the tail booms, two small balancers on top of the fins, + all the features of a late build F-15E. Also a black painted cockpit. Some have recently had a large "dome" (looks like R2D2 :lol:/>/> ) installed behind the cockpit. Very good reference book : http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/Rev2/1201-1300/Rev122

    F-15I

This is my personal opinion ... The hasegawa kit altough still nice is a old tool kit . I have build several of them and have plenty more in the stash and i am still happy with them. I have had the GWH kit in my hands recently and its a suberb new modern tooling kit that is a couple of levels above the hasegawa kit. I have not seen the "I" version from GWH but it will surely be based on their recent versions. Personaly i would wait for the GWH kit.
  3. The Dassault idea is also really good, + we finaly have some decent kits of the Mirage family! And if the Israeli offsprings are to be allowed there are even more options!
  4. Some ideas perhaps. In 2016 ..desert storm 25 years ago! F-14 was retired 10 years ago, (us navy) F-15 40 years IOC ago The "war on terror" started 15 years ago
  5. Thx for the input In 1/32 the black box cockpit set has this configuration, the 1/32 aires " late" cockpit set has them all in the same location/size. Looks like a simple aircraft in modeling terms but there sure are a bunch off details to get right depending on the time frame
  6. Its a difficult subject, when you buy a decal sheet its just like pre painted cockpit, someone did the art work for you, someone printed it on decal paper. The only thing the modeler is doing is sticking it on his model. Resin details sets are a copy of someone elses talent and work...do you mix your own paints, no you buy them ready to use...
  7. Does anyone now if the black boxes in bay 5 are of the later type ( one of them sticks out) when they have these antenna's fitted?? Or is that a later upgrade? Just asking because when looking at some detail books its obvious the boxes are different when eagles get older
  8. Tactical nuke, about 20 kt low air burst would do the job...
  9. Hard to believe its almost 25 years ago when this conflict started. Have been looking in my DS books for the Saudi F-5 but their are only the well known pics. DS pictures were shot old style wet film and the media was controlled. Nowadays just everyone can take good pics with their mobile phone, not in those days...You need to find someone who was there and took pictures for personal use.
  10. If all those models are of your high standard , I sure would like to see them all, any chance of a pic of the collection ?
  11. I agree with the comments that the weathering is bang on, just enough to make it realistic and not overdone.
  12. yeah, looks good, also like the pics with the background
  13. Great model, very inspiring
  14. Not PJ productions, but PWMP "Plastic World Modeling Products"
  15. Same thing happened when I ordered a set off 1/32 f-15 exhausts. When I got the box I found a Tamiya F-16 ladder. I contacted him and a week later I received an nice new package with the correct items. I was not super pleased with the quality of the resin copy's but I wasn't expecting Aires quality either so i was happy with it. Then 2 weeks later I received an e-mail from them that an new package was under way with a better set in it. When I received it i found a much improved resin set! All this without paying anything extra for the shipping. I could even keep al the other stuff I received.
  16. Cutting edge had a resin piece with the old gun vents to backdate the 1994 kit, good luck finding it however...

Yes, the hubs are the typical current style for almost every user of the F-16 with the light weight LG.

not correct , most users with the light LG have moved them to the nose wheel door.
  19. For the fuel tanks you can use the center line tank from the revell 1/32 f-4 kits wich has one. GT resin sells resin F-15 tanks and PWMP does the travel pod in 1:32 links ebay : http://www.benl.ebay.be/itm/1-32-GT-Resin-F-15-600-Gallon-Drop-tank-correctly-shaped-for-wing-CL-pylons-/390948120280 http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/Rev1/801-900/Rev880-PlasticWorldModeling-Jacobs/00.shtm
  20. Best is to use a spare Hasegawa canopy because it has the best shape, for the cockpit there are some Aires sets for the Hasegawa kit that maybe will fit the Tamiya kit.
  21. nice clean build!, what did you use to make the tarmac ?
