  1. Hello fellow modelers, I desperately need a nose cone for a 1/48 RF-5. Any manufacturer is fine as long as it is a 1/48 nose cone. If you have one to give away, please email me so that I can arrange shipment. I'd really appreciate it.
  2. Just a quick update on the status of Minicraft F-33A Beechcraft Bonanza(11670). I talked to Minicaft order desk today and she said the kit is indeed manufactured and is due to be released next week through Minicraft website , amazon and their local distributors across US and Canada. She said it is priced at $29.95. This is great news for all Bonanza fans! http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0251/0463/files/Minicraft_2013_New_Releases_66ae9659-2f5b-4615-81fc-60ac0876d11d.pdf?951
  3. This might be an old topic but once and for all, is priming "a must" before airbrushing? If so, should we use primer straight from the can or decant it and airbrush it? Can we skip priming all together and prep the model with a plastic prep liquid like Testors Plastic-Prep to remove oil and dust before airbrushing?
  4. None is available on any ebay site. Minicraft's own site also has none! Some sites say on back order until October 2013 but not sure if this is the case. Many pilots learned how to fly in Bonanza. I am puzzled how come this kit never became as popular as other trainers.
  5. I have been looking for this kit forever. V tail version is available but not single tail. Any idea if this is available yet.
  6. Now, I see what you mean. Well, I am not very familiar with RV kits but you can always choose your own color brand. If you are using airbrush and have access to tamiya colors in Venezuela, then check out their website here: http://www.tamiyausa.com/articles/tamiya-paint-charts-72?category_id=8&type=article#.UlRKZtKc8zK You can choose from X(for glossy) and XF(for flat) colors. You can use the color instruction sheet that came with your kit but use tamiya instead of Humbrol or any other brand. Which air force color pattern do you want to paint the Fishbed and the Flogger?
  7. I am sorry but your question is not clear. What is RV? Do you need to know the similar color code for your MiG-21 and MiG-23 by Testor and Tamiya? Please clarify.
  8. Thanks a million for the useful links and the info. I will look into it. One more thing. I never worked with resin but what is the best way to remove parts from excess resin? Unlike plastic models, there is no sprue, you see. I'd appreciate your replies. Thank you.
  9. Hello guys, I have been looking for 1/48 MiG-21UM or its conversion kit forever and still there is nothing out there! Has anyone done any similar project? Any idea or workaround is appreciated. Thank you.
  10. I am looking for a hard copy(pdf version is available online) of this special issue of FSM. Please click below: http://www.hobbymagazines.org/uploads/posts/2013-01/1358451771_how-to-paint-weather-scale-models.jpg Does anyone have a copy to give away? I will pay for shipping of course. Please PM me if you have one. Thank you.
  11. Hello guys, Any idea why avast anti-virus redflags the ARC site everytime now? see screenshot below:
  12. I am so humbled and so grateful for the generosity of Jim-one of the forum members-who sent me this rare kit as a gift today. Thanks a million, Jim! I never expected anyone to do such a thing. I am so excited. The AA models are not super detailed or easy to make but if you put time and patience, they can look awesome.
  13. Hello all, I have a question: Could someone please tell me why and how on earth can this model, "1/48 AA Models A-5C Fantan", disappear from the surface of the earth?! I have been looking for it everywhere for two years now but to no avail. Any idea?
  14. Hello guys, I got this Paasche VL set airbrush online and after inspecting all parts, I noticed a very slight bend at the tip of VLN-1(0.55mm) needle! See close-up below: Is it damaged or is it an optical illusion? How should I fix it? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
  15. Here is a photo of the parts. I circled the elevators in red. I only need one. Please let me know if you have it. Many thanks.
  16. Hello Everyone, I need your help. I opened my 1/48 OEZ MiG-21 MF/BIS box and was shocked to find out that it is missing one elevator! I bought it last year open box on ebay and had no idea. If you have any spare that I can use, I would greatly appreciate it. Please contact me ASAP to arrange payment and shipping. Thanks a million. My link
  17. Any suggestion what to use instead of glue then? Plastic cement is OK? Not sure about the intake. It looks OK. I guess I should start building and see how it will look like as it completes.
  18. Thank you all for your replies. I finally decided to resolve this issue by sacrificing one of my kits and use the delta wings of my 1/48 AA F-7II with my 1/48 AA F-7E/MG to make the accurate IRIAF F-7M that I wanted. I checked the wing roots. They look exactly the same and should fit 100%. Now, the nose pitot boom is in the right place and the wings are true delta. See photos below: Wish me luck! Will keep you posted.
  19. Thank you all for your replies. I guess I will wait until a more accurate option is available. I have already purchased the Aztec 1/48 IRIAF F-7 decals. They look very accurate and nice.
  20. Thanks for the info but it has double delta wings. http://www.airliners.net/photo/China---Air/Chengdu-J-7GB/1652925/L/&sid=6977f6d396d42d5988107958b22ccdf3
  21. Thanks, guys for the replies but my problem is the location of pitot boom. In the IRIAF version(F-7N and M) it is above the nose at almost 12 O'clock. In all available Trumpeter or AA models, it is located under the nose intake.
  22. Hello everyone, I am planning to build an IRIAF F-7 but I can not find any N or M version anywhere. All 1/48 F-7 available on ebay or other sites are F-7EB, F-7II and F-7E/MG(double delta wings). What should I do? I need something to look like F-7N or M version(delta wings). Please see attached photos of original IRIAF F-7N and M versions. Any help will be appreciated. http://www.airliners.net/photo/Iran---Air/Chengdu-F-7M-Airguard/1775098/L/&sid=857ad5461182ba0886074568ee4d8934 http://www.airliners.net/photo/Iran---Air/Chengdu-FT-7N/1940403/L/&sid=dbb03fe15613cdd13e5f9e92ca5abb
  23. WOW! Although this thread is too old but I just loved the photos. Great job! I am planning to build an Iraqi Mirage but on 1/32 scale but nothing is available? Also, why is there an Iraqi Mirage III on ebay? http://www.ebay.ca/itm/1-72-MIRAGE-III-Iraqi-Air-Force-LINDBERG-70955-/390121493521?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item5ad50d9411 As far as I know, Iraq never had nor obtained any Mirage III, only F-1.
  24. Not sure if you are finished with your Afghan MiG-21MF but here is a 1/32 decal on ebay which might help you, including paint scheme. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/MiG-21-Fighters-Over-World-1-Iraq-Slovak-Afghan-1-32-decals-Eagle-Strike-32032-/321015241466?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item4abdffdafa
  25. Great job on the Fishbed. I just wish the photos were bigger with some more cockpit close-ups. Also, the missiles look kind of odd for the AA-2 Atoll, don't you think? Were they initially included in the kit or what?
