Thank you for your replies. The windshield was bare before airbrshing. I did thin the paint with TAMIYA X-20A(50/50) and I used lower psi not to pool or spider the paint. I then dipped the windshield in Future. I did NOT wait long for the paint to dry as it was just a few misty passes and dry to touch. What should I do now? wash off the Future and the paint and redo? I am afraid I might crack or cloudy the windshield for good.

This is my very first experience with tinting a windshield. I followed the instructions in the forum. I masked the interior of canopy and airbrushed a thinned TAMIYA clear green(50/50) in a few misty passes. To my disappointment, the tinted windshield is NOT transparent. The green tint tone is perfect but it not transparent and the paint is grainy. I even tried dipping it in the Future but to no avail. Any suggestion on how to make it transparent? How can I fix this? I don't think airbrushing a clear paint is a good idea. Please help!

I am building some Iranian Air Force models and I came across two errors in a row by different companies. It is so bizzar how come these companies didn't do their homework before printing these decals. 1- 1/48 FCM F-14A Tomcat : The Iranian flag on the vertical stabilizer for IIAF in 1977 is wrong. Iranian flag changed in 1980 after the Islamic revolution. IIAF F-14 flag error 2- 1/48 Hobby Craft Hurrican II: The roundel of IIAF is wrong. The order of color rings are reversed. I am planning to build a 1/48 A-5C Fantan but you all might know that AA Models(Sinomodel) is the only 1/48 available(or not, for that matter) with a very crude cockpit, seat and IP. In your opinion, which version of MiG-19 cockpit detail set should I use? There are some available by Neomega. Please advise. Thank you.

My 1/48 Iranian Imperial Tiger Moth(SMER kit) finished last night, painted and rigged, ready for decaling when decal disaster stuck! I was already very unhappy with super low quality SMER kit. @RCAFFAN, Just a quick update. I contacted the seller(https://www.aviationmegastore.com/) and explained the situation. They said all their stock is the same and seemingly missing the second pair of wing decals!!! They did the right thing and fully refunded my payment.

Damn it! You are right. Mine is missing the second pair. I bought my set long time ago and just opened it last week. There is no way I can have it replaced through them.

Thanks, Bruce. Have the decals already but strangely, the decal sheet is missing one pair of wing numbers. There should be two pairs of wing numbers, one for the wing top and one for the wing bottom. Anyways, I am just scratching my head. Will go ahead and eyeball colors from the Airfix link above. I guess Aluminum all over and cockpit green should do for the IP and side walls and brown for the seats. As for prop, I am not sure, maybe black.

Hello guys, I finally finished the model last night. I didn't correct the gray the color. The model gave me a lot of trouble from the start. Poor dry fitting. Yellowed decals. Masking disaster and more but I had to soldier on. This my 4th model and I have a long way to go and lots to learn.

WOW...that is really odd. Thank you for letting me know but it is a very strange order. Never heard anything like that. All countries print their flags as it really is, on their stabilizers.

Holly Smokes, Janissary. You are the God! Amazing build...I am totally speechless. I am just puzzled why the Turkish flag on the starboard side of the vertical stabilizer is reversed!

Thank you guys for all the insights but my question was how to minimize the effect of yellowed film AFTER you apply the decal not when it is still on the sheet. The decal sheet itself showed no sign of obvious yellowing until I applied the first decal. I thought maybe a liquid solution can do the trick but I guess there is no work-around this issue.

I was wondering what is the best way to minimize the effect of aged/yellowed clear films of decals. I never had any major issues with them until this week when I applied them to Satin white color for the first time. The yellowed clear film shows badly on white. Any insights/suggestions?
