With a large number of 32nd Spads out in the wild and 2 A-1J’s this is a sheet that would go well in 32nd if any sheet would.

Well if thats a photo of the completed kit its already looking not bad. They seem to have got the top curves on the two canopies correct which gives hope for a correctly shaped upper fuse which also means it should make the dimensions ie width of the chine correct making it only the second kit to get it close to right(Italeri got pretty close). Hopefully Revell had the A team deployed for this one and redeployed the guys who did the F-18E to Northern Alaska on polar bear patrol. Visually its not looking bad fingers remain crossed and hopes high.

Hasegawa $40 Tamiya $150. Mmmm. Based on that we will just like 32nd never see a late F-4E in 48th. Its taken 5 years to get a late F-14A. P-38J/L anyone? 2 seater F-16’s anyone? A bird in hand…

That kit looks more like its been crushed for an extended time. Ud be requesting a refund as well. None if my 6 look even remotely like that gladly. It looks like its been left in the sun but still the entire upper fuselage comes packaged against heavy card to avoid warping so the only way it can end up like that is under load. Shipping issue.

Just weighed ine 1.446 KG…muktiply x 2.2 for pounds. Yea Ebay is a mess. For a long time we couldnt order Quinta stuff as it was UK Ebay. Someone else also chimed in took 2”5 weeks from China to Australia. The seller is very good used them for many Trumpeter and Hobbyboss orders.

Just got my 4 from China via Ebay Dawngrocerystore a dealer ive used many times. Kit is simply fantastic. The Flanker i have been waiting 25 years for is finally here. Big thanks to GWH and all the great guys who put this project together so well. Culmination of some great research. Time to order a few more.

Half a dozen on the way…

As raised above just after touchdown on a runway...not the boar as the spoilers retract with thrust application. On a runway with idle thrust the spoilers stay up, speedbrakes still open flaps and slats out..

My understanding was this boxing of the G is a “Secret Squirrel” boxing with a non strake G’s with CALCM’s which look identical to ALCM’s is 100% correct. Only nuclear alert G’s where modified with strakes and none of the aircraft in operation secret squirrel or and other Gulf War G’s doing conventional work where fitted with strakes. So inclusion of ALCM/CALCM which where visually identical is perfectly correct. Happy to be corrected but GWH got this spot on with non strake fitted G carrying CALCM. Wondering if any notes are in the instructions on the asymmetrical loadout us

A quick look at this video will show the GWH kit has better surface detail than the Minibase kit. Not a fan of reviewers and the hype on “unmatched surface detail” etc. Just be realistic yes its fantastic but”revolutionary” ir “unmatched” is pure hype. Excellent comparison shows we are spoiled for superb Flankers

If you havnt got an GWH SU-35 this will give you some idea what your missing out on. With all the hype on Minibase we are already spoiled with beautiful Flankers from GWH.

After looking long and hard jumping in with another 3 Minibase kits ordered. If i get time im starting up the first one and really hoping the fit and build is as good as the rest if the kit. Having spent quite a bit of time looking closely its certainly a step up from the Kinetic kit and happy to say that very clearly now after my initial impressions. Great work from Minibase and looking forward to jumping in neck deep into this SU-33. It really does take a close eye and a few days to take it all in. Thats 4 ill have so hopefully we see more from Minibase. Well do

Just got my first Minibase Flanker. Nice kit but maybe the hype train has built it up to way beyond expectations. Directly comparing it to my Kinetic kits to my eye the surface detail on the Kinetic kit is not only finer but far more restrained. Minbase has a swarm of small parts that im sure if you can get them off the sprues intact will add hugely to how busy the kit looks. Decals in the MB kit are a bit thick where the Crossdekta ones in Kinetic are superb. Landing gear etc looks fantastic. Overall lovely kit but one will be enough as comparing it to the Kineti

As Richard has highlighted ANY discussion on colour is fraught with problems when viewed electronically and even in natural light at times. Is the image edited and colour corrected off a grey card. Is the screen your looking at colour calibrated? Is the screen brightness, saturation, black and white point and contrast calibrated? Seriously unless you really do have a calibrated monitor comparing what you see on your screen to chips even if well photographed us difficult at best. Then to compare a life size large object reflecting far more light than a tiny chip leading

Yep inner spoilers in the half open position was normal being more open if high on the ball and more closed if low. And yes speedbrakes open as well.

Lovely Flanker build Haneto the colours look fantastic. Thanks for showing off whats possible with the decals combined with plastic. Cant wait for the single seater!

Academy fixed the nose back retooling it in 2010. Undersize tails are still in the kit. To my eye Academy is an easier build, beautiful decals etc. The oversize plates on the Hasegawa kit are a PITA to mess with. Pay your money and make your choice...

Making shape assessments off wide angle photos is a disaster looking somewhere to happen. Ive got two A-6’s on the shelf and i see now major shape issues at all. Aint no droopy nose Intruders to be seen anywhere in sight. The reason its never been discussed is as JeffreyK said because its fine. An issue would of been spotted ages ago the A-6 was scrutinised heavily on release, heavily.

Ill be grabbing a few Quinta sets. One thing is for sure is some weathering, a wash etc will lift Quinta from just a 3D addon set to incredible. There is always room for the cockpit artist to improve upon a great set and elevate their work above the shake and bake crew. Just because they do a great job doesnt mean it cant be improved on..

Got my first two and after a look through ordered another. What a cracking kit finally the Flanker gas gotten the love. Ok tell GWH we want the single seater now! i need like 7 of them! great work!
