Aces High is one of my favorite Maiden tunes. The Eddies look really good, as well. -

Up the irons. Nice. -
Nice work. But, I have a soft spot for Gull Grey/White Phantom IIs.

BAM News - Universal intakes for the Hasegawa 1/48 Phantoms released!
Grand Toad replied to arnobiz's topic in Jet Modeling
Dave's got a good point here. As soon as something pops up I want, I try to get it ASAP. BTW, thanks for getting the F-4B Phantom II Fin Cap with AN/APR-25 RHAW Antenna (TAM kit) delivered so fast. -
Flying Leathernecks FL48-8005 Mk-83 1000lb bomb with BSU-85/B Air
Grand Toad replied to Dave Roof's topic in Jet Modeling
I’m going to get the MK83 bombs. I need two for VF-102 during OEF. And two for a commission build for a F-18E of VF-115 from OIF. This is good news. -
Sprue Brothers is top notch. I ordered some GT Resin F-4 intakes and one was broken. They hooked me up with GT Resin right away. GT got the new intake to me in about a week. BTW, a shout out to GT Resin for their great customer service.

Announcement from Steel Beach Accessories
Grand Toad replied to Darren Roberts's topic in Jet Modeling
Best wishes. I guess I discovered your products too late. I’m just glad I was able to get the F-14B update. -
It’s cool that they don’t have the “tuck and roll” seat cushions.
-
I'm really happy with the GRU-7 seats in the F-14B set.
-
It was a pleasure doing business with The 48ers. I ordered the Steel Beach F-14B update set.
-
That's very good work. See, you around the forum.
-
It was way better than Maroon 5.
-
The Internet, it’s serious business.
-
I’ll get in touch with you when I need your parts. I really like your GRU-7 seats.

Back in the mid 80s, I tried doing the Waldron placards on a 1/32 Tamiya F-14A. I got totally frustrated and gave up. Shelf of doom time. I never did finish that kit.

Shep Paine called it "gizmology". And, back then we didn't know any better. Funny thing is Shep Paine sure had a lot models and dioramas on display in museums. I remember guys using model railroad chain hooks for canopy latches.

I'll always remember a Francios Verlinden quote about model building. To paraphrase, "If you are building an F-104, and it looks like an F-104, and it doesn't look like a vacuum cleaner, you have succeeded."
-
At least the parts were intact.

I ordered the Steel Beach F-14B Conversion Set from the The 48ers back in December. I had a good email exchange with Ilias. He tracked down the package about a week ago. It was stuck in ICS for a few weeks. Well the package finally arrived. It looks like someone punted it around the building. The resin set was fine because Ilias and his crew had done a great job of packing it. And, yes I'll be ordering from The 48ers again.

Glad I could help.
