Anyone have a 1/48 World War II US Navy seated pilot that they are not using. -
I got mine from Amazon. No clipped wings!

Scooby, Thanks. I bought one on Amazon for $38 and then I read this post. Glad I can get the wings fixed.

Thanks J-10, Triarius!

Tape pulled up small sections of MM gloss coat on the nose of 1/72 J-11B I am working on. I am assuming I have to remove the gloss coat from the nose and start over. What is the best way to remove the MM gloss coat? I am switching to Future for the gloss coat, obviously future will not fill in the "holes" pulled up by the tape, correct?

Has anyone built this model? The only example I can find built does not have clipped wings (IPMS USA review, http://web.ipmsusa3.org/content/f4u-4-corsair-late-version-propeller-and-cowling-upgrades) Did Hobby Boss fix it?

I am building my first model since I was a kid. Trumpeter 1/72 J-11B. I painted the model in MM Light Gray Enamel which is very flat. I polished (rubbed) the model with a t-shirt to break down some of the roughness. I then applied the MM gloss clear lacquer with the appropriate MM 2018 lacquer thinner with an airbrush (#3). I started with a 50/50 mix and then eventually a 75 gloss clear, 25 thinner mix. The light gray paint seems to just suck up the gloss coat. I know it is going on because the black nose has a nice gloss to it. I have done 4 coats and the gray paint still looks flat.

Great Model. What color did you use as the base gray?
