  1. As a teaser there is a thread on built Viggens: http://www.ipmsstockholm.se/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6498
  2. IPMS Stockholm holds Modellexpo 08-Open 2017 8-9 april, at Skytteholmsskolan in Solna. With over 30 years tradition Modellexpo 08-Open is one of the largest model exhibition/contests in Sweden and one of the most important in the Nordic. Modellexpo 08-Open is much more than a model contest, there is also traders, commercial as well as private, Café with sandwiches and beverages, model clubs exhibitions from Miniatyrsällskapet, Flaskskepparna, and Svenska Modellhästföreningen. There will be special exhibitions to celebrate Finland 100 years of independence, a Matchbox exhibition and a show of
  3. Just a friendly word of warning! the store I help out in sell Mr.paint and I've used them some (love them!) BUT!!! some customers have had problems on occasion with uneven finish and flaking on parts of the model. It seems that Mr.Paint can react to some plastics and that you really need to shake them well before use, none of those who use primer (Gunze, MrP, Tamya, Citadel, UMP) have reported any trouble if they remember to shake the bottle well (I cheat and use my Ultrasound cleaner station) We were so impressed by their range of Swedish splinter-colours s
  4. Ah, yes! Shake well, I ran mine in the ultra sound cleaner for a few minutes before using and it worked like a charm!
  5. I've only used the UMP gray variant but I really like it! It sprays well and if you let it cure it nice to sand and polish UMP recommends 20-30 psi and a 0.4mm needle, to low pressure it clogs and it won't level as well if you use a smaller needle. The black appears to be a bit thinner than the gray but both levels out beautifully! Hope this helps
  6. Hi! I originally posted this question over at Large Scale Planes and a member there (thanks Youngtiger1) suggested that I should repeat it here. It all started with a question about the matting in the Swedish Boeing Vertol (Hkp4) and how to reproduce it in 1/48 scale. Inspired by some rail modellers I suggested that he could use a patter-roll with the negative pattern for rolling over flattened milliput (or the putty of your choice) and then you can cut your matt to any size you want. After some creative photo interpretation we decided that the Hkp4 used a square patter
  7. Hi! Im working on a conversion for the new Legato Farchild Argus to turn it into a F 24 C8C. The reason is that we (sweden) used one as our TP (transport) 6 at the F2 Wing, since F2 was a wing compsed of float-planes the F 24 was suplied with Edo 2880 floats. This is the work so far: Sooooo if there is anybody that knows what I have missed? just holler! /Lars B
  8. I´ve seen the CAD model of the JA 37 and I must say it looks really good! The Viggen is not an easy airplane to capture, lots and lots of forms and shapes going ways that is hard to describe on a drawing! but the people doing the designwork really impressed me! You will see some unusuall ways of kit design when this is out! /Lars Befring for IPMS-Stockholm
