Is there anyone of the opinion that the Hasegawa kit is still worth the purchase? I'm a huge fan of the Tamiya and Monogram kits but I have an opportunity to pick up 3 Hasegawa's for the same price as 1 Tamiya F-14A. I want accuracy but also numbers as there are dozens of aircraft I want on my shelf still.
Unless you love a challenge and have the time to make adjustments or corrections, then no, it just isn't worth the hassle.

All I can say is wow, what great dedication and innovation, very impressive work.

Poorly.... the judges didn't like it one bit 😛 Didn't even bother to ask them about it since I over heard some of their opinions....
Oh that's a shame, sorry to hear that, I thought it looked pretty damn awesome.

Well, canopy drama aside, that is a very impressive model of the B-1. The finish looks super smooth and is seriously good.

So... how did it get on at the show ?

Some impressive shots, especially the 'golden hour' ones. Lovely to see these and interesting to find out what had happened to the two seaters.

Really good looking model now, excellent posts to show how you have achieved this.

You're not wrong, that is a frustrating issue.

I hate to be the bearer of even more bad news, but AMK f*cked-up the gun gas purge vents (the same as on the 1/32 Trumpeter and 1/72GWH offerings.
If you look at image 43, you'll notice that the 2 front NACA ducts on the kit end at the same imaginary vertical line, whereas on the actual aircraft, the bottom duct is actually offset more foreward. I suspect that the companies above all worked from the same/similar basic references to tool their dies, because that's one of the most photographed/viewed parts of the aircraft, and the only way you can make that error is to work too strictly from (faulty) diagrams.

Wow that does look like the level of detail you'd expect in a modern 1/32 kit. Very nice.

Some interesting detail on these F-94C's in this book here (from page 52)

I stand corrected! Great info there, great pic as well.

Also BTW, what is the best, walkaround book beside DACO's, if there is any? Thanks
The old Squadron Walkaround is pretty good, but does not cover modern B and D very well due to the time it was published. I don't think you can beat the DACO book tbh.

Here you go brother, greatest F-16 reference portal in the world! (Yes, 'beercan' RWR relocated to wings on block 30/32 Vipers).

Hi Parabat,
Thanks. Not the same pic but similar. This will work though.
Where did you find the picture?
again, thanks
Gary
Ah, right. I just typed in 'cat zero gravity' into an image search!

I would say it depends on what timeframe you are doing, when I was on the Nimitz in Oct/Nov 84 the kill markings was on the tail (posted a pic of it years ago, not sure if it's still in the Tomcat thread).
I think he's just after a personal opinion, about where you think they look best. What would be more appealing - the same aircraft with a kill marking on the tail or under/on the canopy?

Edit: Nevermind, you're doing a USMC F-4S...so no carrier deployments.
I did not know that... You learn something new every day.

Just seen this - what an undertaking this will be! Great pictures, really clear to see what you are achieving.

Nice one, will be following this.

A tour de force of a build, that is quite staggering. Congrats with the completion and a well deserved rest.

Dark and brooding very nicely done. Legacy Hornets really have 'something' about them.
