  1. I have both- an Iwata Revolution Cr and an Aztec a470. I havent used the Aztec once since I got the Iwata. Iwata all the way.
  2. Ditto- I absolutely love my Iwata- so easy to use and clean. Best money I ever spent.
  3. I have had an A470 for approx 4 years, but started to get a bit fed up with it. I recently bought an Iwata Revolution Cr, it is cheaper than the Aztek, but it is a fantastic piese of kit- I have now got a new found love of airbrushing as the Iwata is so easy to use.
  4. Hi Frank- great builds- love the Marines car. Love those old Chargers- everytime I see one it reminds me of the General Lee.
  5. Hi Mat, looking good so far. Hope you put up some pics of the g-2 when you do it.
  6. I like your Phantom- very nice indeed.
  7. I see Hannants still have it listed as a future release. I wonder how much it will be going for, as I reckon I will have to get myself one. Looks very good from first impressions
  8. The TBF/TBM Avenger from Italeri. The accurate miniatures kit reboxed at half the price. Eduard F6F series. Tamiya P-51D Tamiya F4U Corsairs
  9. Beautiful- you are doing a great job on this. I might be tempted to get myself one, although I have never been a fan of anything French. That could change.

    Tiffie!!!!!

A small update on the Typhoon. Have filled in the mould flaw behind the second access panel. I had a bit of a disaster whilst installing the canards. The locator pins where quite short and the holding plug doesnt fit very well. Whilst trying to extend it i broke off the pin. So, I cut off the other pin on the other canard and drilled a hole in both and inserted a metal pin to go through both sides of the fuselage. This will enable me to move the canards at the same time. I have installed the cockpit and joined both halves of the fuselage. There is quite a seam so I will have to fill the
  11. Probably similar in size to the JU-88 box. That is one big box.
  12. I think they might have based a lot of their research on the existing Revell 1/48. In the Revell kit their is a mould flaw on both sides of the fuselage- it lools like a panel line, behind the second access panel. I can see this is evident on the Trumpeter kit as a panel line.
  13. Looking at the cockpit- the panel on the lower left hand side of the IP is completely wrong- they are showing 2 simultaneous rows of switches- the real one has one 3 or 4 switches on that panel. Check out this pic:- http://www.airforce-technology.com/project...00/ef20006.html and you will see what I mean.

    Tiffie!!!!!

It is actually light grey- as I said the photography came out poorly- has seriously darkened the grey down. Here is another shot.
  16. My brother bought me one of these kits for Christmas, knowing how much I loved the look of it. I pretty much want to build this as close to OOB as possible. I will be doing some scratch, like to the area behind the ejector seat, and I replaced the kit seat with an Airwaves resin MB Mk16A. So on to construction- to date I have built and painted the cockpit. The kit cockpit is very well detailed and almost exact when compared to any reference photos I have used. I chose not to use the decals Revell have supplied for the IP but handpainted all the detail instead. I will post more as
  17. I have a compressor I got a couple of years ago with an 8 litre tank. It lasts about 15 mins or so- the problem I have with it is I do all my modelling in a garden shed and when the motor kicks in to refill it, wow- loud- it probably puts out about 60-70Db.
  18. Many thanks for your help. Joe- that is a wonderful looking model you have created.
  19. Wow- Creighton, great looking Hornet. I hope mine looks half as good as that when finished.
  20. Many thanks for the replies. I have compared a few photos of B and D tails this evening since I have read these posts and I think the shape is the same, just what blisters to sand off, am I correct? I hope so- I have the Hasegawa Night Attack Hornet, that looks really boring in its low-vis markings and I have came across the Fighting Omars 2 tone desert camo scheme- looks really cool.
  21. So, I am thinking of backdating my Hasegawa f-18D to a B and doing it in the Fighting Omars adversary scheme. Can anyone tell me what the main changes are between the two airframes? I am sure this question has been asked before but I could not find any photo references. Many thanks, Alan.
  22. I am thinking of changing my own airbrush in the next week or so. I have been using an Aztec A470 for the past 3 or 4 years, but I am getting fed up with it. It seems to take mind of its own whether to spray properly or not. I am intendeing to buy either an Iwata Revolution CR or a BR. I know the Cr is a slightly better airbrush, but the BR comes as part of a package which appears pretty good.

    Arrgh!!!

A small tip for you to try- this is not for everyone, but when I am doing my decals, I first coat the area to be decaled with micro-set. Put the decal into place and dab off any excess water. After a couple of minutes I brush microsol over it, then go over the area with a hairdryer until it isdry- this speeds up the decaling process and the microsol works straight away- have to say it works every time- can get a snug fit with every decal and can see any problems almost straight away.
  24. Revell 1/32 Ju-88. What a beauty of a kit. Only downside is the lack of instruments or harnesses, so corrected that by ordering some MDC Luftwaffe dials and 2 sets of harnesses from RB Productions.
