  1. That is a very useful tool. I will add that to my collection
  2. I got mine from Hobbytown USA here in las vegas and i love the product.
  3. I just got a Canon T4i with a telephoto lens and I love that camera. I am starting to work with my apeture a little and started messing with the Manual settings on my camera. This tutorial is just for me Chuck. But the camera pictures that I am taking now in my in progress build of the F14 Tomcat look great but I can see what you are talking about (the blur behind the object). I will continue to work with my camera while I am working on my F14.
  4. You are absolutely correct Manual. I will add pictures tonight to show you what I did with that part. I put putty in the seams and kinda raised that panel a little, I will let you decide, but when I think about it, I may have to raise that panel a little more so it seats correctly.
  5. Now if I am not able to get another sprue from Stevens International, this is what I am thinking about doing. I was going to insert a sheet of styrene to the inside of the part and make it flush with the kit part. Then I was thinking about using some milliputt to the outside of the part to make it whole again. Now I have never used Milliput before but I have the "superfine" and "Course". I was planning on filling the part with milliputt and waiting for it to cure and sanding the part down to the fit the kit part. But like I said, I have never used milliputt before but it looks simple. If
  6. Now here is the part that is correct: And one of the pictures, they are side by side on the sprue.
  7. Now Here Is The Problem: While going over my kit contents I saw something strange with one of my sprues. I looked it over for a second and I seriously thought Trumpeter created the part that I am talking about, to be that way but when I looked at the part and the instructions, I found that I had a problem. Here are the pictures: Now mind you, I did not bring my Daco book to work so I can explain the part that I am takling about. If you guys can give me some suggestions on what to do with the part, or should I call Stevens International (The distrubutor of Trumpeteer in the states) and see
  8. And here are other parts of the PIT that I painted as well. Now I didn't go the RIO station yet becasue that part needed to be modified with cables and all the extra stuff, so I just painted the Front instrument panel using Mr. Color flat black. Now I need to do the covers for the Front instrument panel and Rio station as well but that is for another time. But I while I was painting the front instrument panel, I see a part is missing. Can you guys find it? I need a suggestion on how to fix that part of the front instrument panel. And here is the other part for the RIO station.
  9. I did some painting on the PIT last night. I first washed the PIT with warm water using dishsoap and left the parts in the dishsoap overnight. Then when I dried the PIT and all the parts to the cockpit I did not use primer becasue it will take away from the cockpit details (in my opinion). I painted the pit with Mr. Color Dark Gull gray and i think that it turned out ok, but I want to do it again. I think that I will add all the shadows using a different color, (darker) to show all the shadows and everything else So here are my pictures of the PIT using Dark gull grey.
  10. I will post more tonight when I take the pictures. The next thing that I am working on is the pit for the Tomcat.
  11. Now, becasue they don't "exactly" fit, I used Tamiya tape and surrounded the parts that I didn't want any putty to go on (i hate rescribing) and filled the parts with putty but i wanted to leave a distinctive panel line, I didn't want to take away the panel lines alltogether.
  12. More on the fuel tanks when I am done rescrbing the seams that the putty took away. But like I said yesterday, I am skipping all over the place with this kit because I am not ready to do the cockpit but I am getting close to it. I started with the outside of the cockpit and i stared to work on the panels that are suppose to be opened. Like someone mentioned on this post, the parts that are suppose to be opened, are not a great fit when you try to close them. so I started with the panels that are suppose to be opened and I only work with the parts that I don't have to alter. And I put in t
  13. After fitting the fuel tanks together, there were still seams.....Mr Disvolled Putty to the rescue. I put the parts together and applied Putty to the seams and let them cure overnight.
  14. Now I am skipping to the fuel tanks. The problem with the fuel tanks, well really not the kits problem, but my problem is that when I dry fitted the parts together because of the lock tabs being so few, I could foresee a fit problem with that area. So.....I put tabs on the kit parts to get the proper fit with the fuel tanks.
  15. Now as you guys can see, I am skipping all over the place with this kit, wings, brake lines and legs, and I still have not finished my Front landing gear yet. I still waiting on the Zactoman intakes so I am taking my time. Now to get those lines I put putty in....as you can see I rescribed the lines but they are very shallow, not like the panes lines.
