  1. Kind of sad that one will have to get decals all the way from Malaysia, in order to do this jet. Sounds like the sheet will be very limited edition (as in only 50 copies in 72nd scale).
  2. 429 "Bison" Squadron, currently flying the CC-177 Globemaster, unveiled tail art to commemorate its 75th Anniversary. https://www.facebook.com/RCAF.ARC/videos/10154397610981237/?hc_ref=NEWSFEED Now, the obvious question is, will we get decals for this scheme?
  3. I kind of stumbled on this one, through a Facebook group (Grumpy Old Scale Modellers Group), and the guy posted a great looking F-16C, in the Blizzard aggressor camo. He used a paint called Bombshell Brew. The bottles look very similar to Vallejo paint bottles. However, the Bombshell range has a pretty good selection of modern and WW2 colours. What attracted me was the line of paints, specifically for aggressor/adversary aircraft. Some of the various blues aren't available in acrylic paint lines and usually have to be mixed. This new paint line would seem to eliminate that problem.
  4. I'll be getting a couple of sheets for sure. Thanks Kursad!
  5. If there are some RAAF markings on the sheet as well, I may just have to do another 32nd scale Hawk. But, the 419 jet comes first! I may actually get a couple of copies of the sheet in 32nd, just in case of possible commission builds as well.
  6. Another vote for 32nd scale....even if it is a limited release and a one-time print.
  7. I actually looked at the Canada 150 logo trademark info and it looks like there is just an application that needs to be filled out for commercial use. As Derek said, fingers are crossed that we can get a sheet of decals for this kit.
  8. That's what I mean. That seems to be the only choice. I'd love to see more options for a VF-14 Bravo Phantom.
  9. Derek sent some images into Kinetic as far as I know. Fingers crossed!
  10. Canadian stuff?! Yeah, I'm in! Maybe I'll build a Hornet.....never built one before....so, you know....something new. LOL
  11. Just wondering if anyone knows if we're ever going to see VF-14 Tophatters markings for the F-4B Phantom, in 48th scale?
  12. Sorry Kursad, I didn't mean to imply that the decal sheet is inaccurate, just noted that the artwork on the right side of the jets didn't seem to be included. In any case, I will be getting the kit and your update sheet. I've been planning on a big, multiple model build, of different aerobatic teams, and the Patrouille is at the top of my list.
  13. http://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?item_no=KI-K48064 Kinetic kit appears to be available, however, the nose art on the right side of the 2017 jets does not appear to be included on the decal sheet. I will be waiting for the Caracal sheet in that case.
  14. Disappointing, but understandable I suppose.
  15. Raymond....you have my attention! Hopefully, some of the more recent demos will be done. If you are looking for references, let me know.
  16. According to a post a while back, David mentioned that his licensing agreement covered the Demo Hornet schemes as well, so he is free to do them. As far as Jim goes, there are plenty of other sources of reference materials available as more than enough modellers take photos of the demo aircraft each season. I will be seeing the new demo jet in April, out in Comox. I'll be shooting a walk around, if I have enough time during my visit with the demo team.
  17. Anything is possible with the right tools. Even a sheet with just these tail markings would be simple to do as the rest of the markings on the jet are all standard, and more than a few modellers probably have more than one sheet of standard CF-18 markings in their stash. As well, a whole decal to cover the tail wouldn't really be needed, just the major graphics and the modeller would just have to paint one or two colours.
  18. Well, I'd like to see some RCAF T-33s, we're talking back to the 1960's or earlier. I'd love to do a bunch of natural metal T-Birds. I think an extensive sheet for the CF-5A/D in the ghost scheme could be done, plus a CF-5A/D aggressor sheet. More natural metal RCAF Sabres would be cool, and maybe even RCAF stuff from WW2 (Spits, Hurricanes, Lancs, etc.).
  19. A couple of things on the Hawk. Aircraft that are based in Moose Jaw don't carry anything on the wingtips, while Hawks in Cold Lake have the ACMI pod and an inert AIM-9. You can use an ACMI pod out of a Hasegawa weapons set (D I believe), or, if you have the Tamiya Aggressor F-16 kit, there are two in that kit. Only things you'll need to add are the wire antennas and the balance weights (as in the photo that Chris posted). The centerline pod is both for luggage and fuel. There is a similar looking pod in the kit, but it is a smoke tank for a Red Arrows Hawk. I took mine and reshaped it t
  20. I've been mulling this over in my head lately and thought I'd post and see what other guys are thinking. Is Canadian subject matter that much of a niche market? Year after year, we have these great looking demo Hornets come out of the paint shop and at one point in time, you could almost expect to see a decal sheet. Nowadays, not so much. While I realize that such a sheet is a bit of an undertaking, both time and finance wise, why not still put out a decal sheet, even if it is a limited edition? There are five recent Demo Hornet schemes that are fantastic, but haven't been done in scale,
