Nice ๐๐ป Very clean build Iโm working on this same kit at the moment - you gotta love the fit and engineering and colors of these Tamiya P-47Ms! Steve

Interesting and cool! I like all your WHIF F-15s ๐๐ป Steve

I suppose itโs a matter of personal choice. Iโm not super passionate about a G.91 and judging by the reactions here and elsewhere in social media, there are others that feel the same way. Iโm glad you are looking forward to it! Steve

Guess what? The HGW Rivet set arrived from the Czech Republic this week! Check out the awesome details on the elevator transfers Since the transfers take a recommended 6-8 hrs to dry, I immediatly dove in to the process. I had to make a slight modification to the turtle deck piece to account for the fin leading up to the vertical stabilizer since the HGW set is for the P-47D and not the M. I cut the two center most rivet lines out of transfer piece, up to the first rivet line going across the top of the fuselage in front of the fin.

I agree. I still think we get the J sooner rather than later. Steve -

No kidding! The F-100 deserves an accurate, state-of-the-art tooling! I have so many things in-progress right now that I would probably get to it in 2025 ๐ but I would welcome it!

I went away from the crowd and guessed a 1/48 F-100 series. Who knows ๐๐คทโโ๏ธ

Man, interesting answers on Facebook. A-10 is super popular. It makes me wonder if itโs something off the wall since they are promising a free kit to the folks that guess correctly. Steve

Thanks Mr Happy. Yea, definitely a process to get rid of the ghost seams, but a NMF is pretty unforgiving ๐ฌ Thanks 11Bee. Iโm looking forward to watching your build- especially after your tour de force with the Mosquito(!) Iโve heard great things about the 1/32 Hasegawa P-47s, so hopefully the build goes smoothly ๐๐ป Steve

I love everything about it. Yes. Want. Soon. Money. You. Decals. Me. Steve

Lol, you need to pick up a Tamiya model magazine once in awhile ๐๐ -
I am not passionate about the Su-33 per se, but I am about this kind of kit making. Iโm going to buy one to support Minibase in hopes we get more kits with this level of detail. ๐๐ป Steve

Thanks Carlos! I think the preshading really helped on this one. I used a lot of greys and blues on the top and greys and browns on the bottom. Steve

Oh what a deal Curt! I paid full price for my a Tally Ho boxing. Although I havenโt built any of the new early Mk Spita from Eduard, they look every bit the part as their older brothers do in the box. I just finished my third Eduard Spitfire Mk XVI and that kit just falls together...I expect the Mk I/IIs to do the same ๐ Cheers, Steve

Super curious on the English translation here...are they planning on making all those aircraft?

Thanks AFM! I appreciate it Steve

Hello ARC! Here is my first completion for 2021. Spitfire Mk XVI LF, TE199, flown by Air Officer Commanding of RAF No.21 Group, Swinderby AB, September 1948 It is the 1/48 Eduard Mk XVI with Barracudacast snapshot cockpit upgrade, Maketar paint masks for the roundels/fin flash, and Brassin landing gear, and Brassin wheels. Most paints MRP, except Gold (Gunze MC217), with the top coat MRP Jet Black. This is the first black airplane Iโve modeled. I tried to make it visually interesting, while staying true to form and not exaggerating things too much. I

Thanks Berkut- Iโm happy to offer some inspiration! This is a great kit for sure- it just falls together. Enjoy your build! Steve

Thanks for stopping by Carlos! There seems to be a bit of controversy about the roundels on TE199. Some sources speculate they may have been the subdued pale blue and red. Iโm pretty sure they werenโt, but I went with the suggestion in the Lifelike decals instruction sheet and masked and sprayed them with MRP Pale Roundel Red and Blue. Hereโs the actual plane.... Purly artistic preference, thatโs all. I will do a separate thread on this one when I get a chance! Steve

The armored glass solution is very neat! Sheโs coming along nicely ๐๐ป Steve

Thanks Dekon! Iโm on a roll right now with builds and while the P-47 has stalled until I get the HGW rivets, I am about to wrap an Eduard Spitfire Mk XVI... I will do an in-progress build report on this one too (soon) Steve

Awesome! I need to get some of that blackening fluid. The metal parts look just like the real deal! You sir, have very steady hands ๐๐ป๐๐ป Steve
