  1. I have had very little time lately to work on the skyhawk, so sorry for the lack of updates. Only a little bit of work to show, but it is at least getting to the stage where progress will start to go more quickly. While taking a break from cutting and reattaching the control surfaces, I painted the cockpit and internal fuselage parts to get ready for the fuselage joining. I didn't spend too much time on the cockpit, except for the seat, since most won't be seen once it is completed. I bought the new Aires exhaust resin for the kit. It is very nice looking, but after painting it I realiz
  2. Great job. I like the interesting paint scheme and colors
  3. Thanks Spejic. As for the airbrakes, I will probably just have them closed. I think the light in one of the pictures makes it look like some work has been done to them, but so far I haven't touched them.
  4. I love skyhawks, so I don't need much of an excuse to build one, but this group build will be a great reason to build a few more. I've had the Furball A-4M decals for awhile and have heard great things about them, so I've been anxious to use them. I am planning on using the VMA-214 Blacksheep decals so model a plane similar to this one: I also have the Steel Beach conversion for a 1/48 OA-4M, so I may do that project for this group build as well in the future I always start Hasegawa A-4's with cutting off the slat surfaces from the top wings and gluing them back on to replace the step. I l
  5. Hey Kursad, I did enjoy the decals. They were very well printed and thought out. Also, the information included in the placement booklet for converting the A-4M and the included link to reference pics were really appreciated! You have a great product!
  6. Thanks for that link Pacheco. There are some really cool pictures of the upgrades. I'm glad to hear that skyhawks will be flying for awhile longer!
  7. Thanks for the kind words! I didn't realize that the air force and navy had different roundels. Good to know! From my research it seems like the Sao Paulo might be getting back to service soon. Maybe the skyhawks will get some more carrier landings soon! Hey Scooby. Caracal gives you two extra rectangular strips for the portions that go over the refueling probe. The instructions show you were to cut the large bird decal, then use the extra decal to wrap around the probe. It takes a little bit of work to get the probe looking right, but all in all, it works out really well.
  8. After getting the Caracal decals for the Brazilian Skyhawks, I couldn't decide which plane to model. Luckily, the decals come with two complete sets, so I decided to make both! Both models are Hasegawa 1/48 A-4M's. The only aftermarket items are the decals and an Aerobonus pilot figure for the inflight scene. Hope you enjoy! Brazil is one of only 3 countries to fly the Skyhawk off of aircraft carriers, so I had to make an inflight display to recognize that. The only modifications needed was to extend the landing gear oleo's to an inflight length and lower the tailhook The aircraft pa
  9. I'm considering the Steel Beach conversion if I can't a C version, but I would prefer the actual kit. Also, anyone looking to sell an A-4K let me know!! Thanks
  10. either will do, as I believe that the OA-4M can be built as the TA-4. Please contact me if you have one you'd like to sell. Thanks
