  1. Holy Cow!! For only being 17 years old that is mighty impressive work there my friend. How long did it take you paint that scheme????
  2. Another nice build my friend. I have 2 questions for you though: #1, whose kit did you use and #2, it looks like the machine guns have been faired over .... yes?....no?
  3. Whoa......that's an impressive Tiger finish...! Congratulations. Tim
  4. That's a really neat look plane - I don't think I've ever actually seen one built up before. Nice work my friend. Tim
  5. Yep, I'd have to agree.....you definitely have gotten your modeling "mojo" back!! Nice work - I love the subtle weathering.
  6. I will give this kit to anyone who agrees to the following 2 items: #1. They must cover the shipping costs for me to send them the kit #2. And this is the "real catch"....they must agree to build the kit by the end of this year and send me several digital pictures of the completed model. If you can agree to those 2 items and would like the kit then please email me directly at the following address: GNomad781@gmail.com Tim NJ - U.S.A. P.S. Apart from getting some pictures out of this deal I have no other motives for making this offer!! I just know I'll never get around to build
  7. Great website my friend......some really nice work posted.
  8. Based on the imformation you have given I would most defnitely agree with you, they really should have mentioned the fact that they charge you the PayPal service fees up front. Then again they might be a small outfit that is still just finding their way through the business world. What about dropping them a quick note to let them know how you feel?
  9. $7.50 - price includes shipping via First Class Mail to addresses in the US. I will accept PayPal, MO, or cash. Thanks, Tim NJ - U.S.A.
  10. On a couple of occasions I've left the masks on for nearly 3 months without any trouble - now I don't know if this makes any difference but I do not treat my canopies with Future.
  11. Congrats to you mate! I must say the first goal the Dutch scored in today's match against Uruguay was BEAUTIFUL.....SWEET!! I'm just hoping for a final game that gets decided in OT...but not penalty kicks!
  12. Hey Patrick, You care to enlighten the rest of us on what a "modelling guillotine" is....or should we just use our imaginations??? (Grin!) Tim
  13. I'm just curious to know from the rest of you guys what the single most helfpul new tool or technique is which you've discovered in the last 10 years. I'm guessing there's probably more than one new tool or technique that you've discovered so if you need to list more than one that's okay. For me the most helpful new tool has been the discovery of the Eduard canopy masks. I mean I can't even imagine living without them for some of the 1/72 multi-engine bomber kits I build. Okay....your turn.
  14. Thanks for the tips Oliver! I've already placed the decals so I won't be able to use the #11 blade but I'll try using some pastels - actually I might try using the new Tamiya weathering sets I picked up. I'm not very good at posting pictures on here but if you want to see some pictures of my helo once it's done I'll be glad to send you some.....just send me your email address. Thanks again for the tips! Tim
  15. I'm getting close to finishing my Academy 1/48 MH-53E Sea Dragon kit and I'd like to add just a small amount of "scruff marks" on the walkway panels (decals) and was wondering if anyone had some "quick & dirty" techniques for achieving this effect. Thanks, Tim
  16. ****** Deal Pending ***** ************************ $25.00 plus the cost of shipping. If you plan to pay via PayPal then I'd ask that you include 5% extra to cover the PayPal service fees. Thanks, Tim NJ - U.S.A.
  17. Hey Telly......I think he might have meant to say, "why is this kit so hard to find".....not necessarily "unpopular"......
  18. Awesome.....thanks for sharing the pictures. Tim
  19. I've finally got my hands on an Academy 1/72 Catalina kit and I'd like to build it to represent a British Catalina which would be flying a mission against German U-boats in the North Atlantic. The kit doesn't come with any depth charges so I was hoping that someone on here might be able to directly to a helpful website or modeling article which provide worthwhile date for me to study. As always, thanks in advance for any & all USEFUL comments (vs. wiseass remarks - GRIN) Tim
  20. Hey Michael, Do you know what the kit# is of the one you are looking for??? tim
  21. **** TRADE has been negotiated ******** ************************************ I have one of the Accurate Miniatures Avenger 2 box sets (some of you might remember they were being sold at the IPMS Nats which were held down in Virginia Beach many moons ago) Anyway I'd really like to trade these 2 kits for one of the newer tooled Hasegawa 1/72 twin engined WW2 bombers (i.e. B-25..B-26) or for an Academy 1/72 PBY-3 or PBY-5. Due to cost associated with shipping overseas (outside the USA) I'd prefer to keep this trade Stateside. Thanks! Tim Lingle NJ - U.S.A. P.S. I'd also consider trading i
  22. Okay, let me just be VERY clear about one thing........I am not interested in ever becoming an expert on the F-16, I think there are plenty of guys here on ARC who already fit that bill, however, having said that I'm pretty certain that I read somewhere that the undercarriage parts that come in the Hasegawa 1/48 F-16I Sufa kit are not the correct ones - something about needing to replace them with ones a bit more "heavy duty?" If such is the case than perhaps someone could kindly point me in the right direction for an after-market replacement set. P.S. Now I'm guessing this will sound pretty
  23. Darn.....it, I love things that go bang :-) Please give me a call next time you plan on conducting such experiments...eh.
