I don't know it this will help but several years back I started to staple both ends of the strips - the staples are at the outter ends so I've never had them interfere with my sanding efforts...AND....since I've been doing this I've never had any problems with them coming "unglued" like you mentioned. There are probably several reason why I enjoy building models, however the strongest reason is because building models provides a "3 dimensional playing field" for my imagination.

For me it comes down to one overriding factor - what is the highest level of enjoyment can I obtain throughout the build process. If being super detailed doesn't subtract from the "fun factor" then I'll go for it, otherwise I'm pretty content to just stay with building right out the box with very little after-market stuff.

This is not an urgent need on my part but I thought I'd check and see if there was anyone out there who might have an Italeri 1/72 MH-53E Sea Dragon kit that they'd like to trade or possibly sell (Max price I'm willing to pay is $12.00 plus postage) The kits that I have trade are mostly 1/72 aircraft and 1/35 armor.
