I've been off the board for awhile so I'm sorry if this has already been covered but I'm curious to know if we've had any more news on this kit. Thanks, Tim

It's nice to see something a little "different" for a change. At least now we have some "pictures" of how things are done in that part of the world.

What did you get at the Hobby Shop today?

Today I received my first order from an online place called, RedFrog Hobbies. I normally order from Sprue Brothers but this RedFrog Store was the only place I could get some of Gunze Sangyo's "Dissolved Putty.' Since I needed to place a $20 minimum order I also got an Academy 1/35 Ms Stuart and some Tamiya 18ml masking tape. Placed my order last Friday and it arrived at my office this morning. -
What a PLEASANT diversion from the normal gray schemes!! EXCELLENT paint job.

I discovered Potomac Displays on the web about a 2 years ago and have placed several orders from them for various diorama bases. Anyway, I received my last order and discovered that one of the bases was pretty heavily scratched up. I sent them an email explaining the problem and I was quite shocked when 2 days later I received a brand-new replacement base. If you are looking for some really nice diorama bases check these guys out. www.potomacdisplays.com Tim

Thanks! I think I'll give it a try.

I just saw this stuff being listed at Best 1 Hobby for the first time and was interested to know whether or not anyone's ever used the stuff. Thanks for any feedback. Tim

Compared to Hasegawa's F-2 & F-104 kits this one was a bit of a disapointment. The fit of the kit was just a little below par for Hasegawa in my book.

Another one......

Okay, this was far from being one of my better efforts but the bottom line for me was a I was able to FINISH the kit before it got relegated to my "never to be touched again" pile.....GRIN.

Indeed a fantastic paint scheme!!! Not sure if I'd ever be brave enough to try a paint scheme like that one of my models though. -
Hey Mike, I used to have a program for kids called "Discover the Magic of Modeling" and I tried using the Testors "Non-Toxic" glue with them but like the other guys already pointed out this stuff really didn't work at all. It was then that I discovered the Model Master Precision Glue Applicator. While this stuff still has a strong odor it works great because it really allows you to control where you put your glue. The other thing you might want to try out is Tamiya's modeling cement - not quite as strong smelling - you can purchase the stuff through www.modelmecca.com Good luck my friend!

Hey Mike, I've used about 3 different kinds of liquid masking solutions over the years and I've found one coat usually does the trick. The one thing though that I always did was make one section a little thicker so when it comes time to remove the mask you have a section you can "grip" to remove. While not as easy to obtain, I use Gunze Mr. Masking Sol. I got mine through Spruebrothers.com Good luck! Tim
