I'm going to start building a Hasegawa 1/72 F-4B/N kit and would like to load some ordnance on it but am not really too sure what a "typical" loadout would have been for a bombing mission over Vietnam. I've tried searching Google for a loadouts weapon diagram but have so far been unsuccessful. As the kit comes with nothing more than the usual drop tanks I'll be sourcing all of my weapons from the Hasegawa 1/72 weapons sets. Thanks for any and all helpful input! Tim

1/32 Revell Mirage IIIE done as 75 Sqn RAAF IIIO
Scooter Man replied to Andrew Doppel's topic in The Display Case
Wow...that's a GREAT LOOKING birthday present!! Nice job Andrew. -
I've been slowly converting over to 1/72 from 1/48th and seeing as how I usually like to build my models as "in-flight" displays I'm looking to learn what 1/72 kits are out there with halfway decent seated pilot figures - I'm not too particular about which nationality just as long as they are relatively modern. I know that the new Airfix 1/72 Hawk kits have a couple pilot figures but what else? I'm also aware of the fact that Modern Hobbies used to make some really detailed seated pilot figures in 1/72 but since they are now officially out of business adding them to my list really wouldn't m

my airbrush is dead, what should I replace it with
Scooter Man replied to Orion Field's topic in Tools 'n' Tips
Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but as someone who has owned at least 4 different IWATA airbrushes over the last 35 years I'd like to ask you to consider an airbrush brand very similar to IWATA airbrushes but at a MUCH lower price. The airbrushes I'm referring to are SPARMAX and can be purchased for under $50.00 from LuckyModel.com Like I said, I've been using IWATA airbrushes for most of my life but have just recently discovered these SPARMAX brushes and think they work just as well as my IWATA airbrushes but at nearly 1/3 the price. Anyway, the worst you can do is check them out. -
As Steven has mentioned, I've found that I do my best work when I really "feel" like building and it's those times when I'm working on a model for the mere sake of making progress that I get results that I'm usually not so pleased with.

Considering these kits have been out of production for a little while now I know this might be a long shot but I'm looking (nothing urgent) to get my hands on one of the Hasegawa 1/72 F-4C/D kits. Here's a list of the boxing's I'd consider: HSG00918 "Vietnam" HSG00798 "Mig Eater" HSG00089 "Mig Killer" I might also consider the Accurate Miniatures reboxed Monogram kit but for that one I'd only be willing to pay $20. Thanks, Tim NJ - U.S.A.

What's the BEST FITTING 1/72 jet kit you've ever built???
Scooter Man posted a topic in Jet Modeling
Am moving away from 1/48th and back into mostly 1/72 and am looking for everyone's input on the best fitting 1/72 jet kits which they've had personal experience with building. Thanks, Tim -
I'd really like to build a 1/72 scale F-4J or F-4B/N Phantom with markings for the VF-84 "Jolly Rogers." Are there any kits out there that come with these decals or do you have to buy the kit & decals separately?? Thanks, Tim

Rotor detail on Hobby Boss 1/72 Mi-8/Mi-17 kit
Scooter Man replied to Scooter Man's topic in Helicopter Modeling
Kool beans, thanks Ken! Nice models by the way. -
Totally agree!! Very rarely, if ever, will I use anything else other than sprue from a Tamiya kit. This is not to say sprue from other manufacturers won't work, it's just that based on my own personal experience Tamiya's sprue is the easiest for me to work with.

Will keep you in my prayers my friend...!!

Okay so I've pulled this kit out of my stash and plan to start assembling it shortly, however as I was checking out the parts I noticed that there was quite a bit of raised detail on the rotors. Not being familiar with this particular helicopter I'm not sure if this raised detail should be left as is or should I try and sand it down a little bit to make it less pronounced??? Thanks, Tim

I've been coming to the realization that building 1/48 jet kits is really just too time consuming for me and am seriously thinking about trading off my collection of Hasegawa 1/48 F-4 kits (F-4E,F-4G, F-4J, F-4EJ, RF-4E, and RF-4B) for their 1/72 counterparts. If I'm really going through with this I'd like to trade with someone who is willing to trade me 2 1/72 scale kits for one of mine 1/48 scale kits. I prefer to trade for the newer Hasegawa boxings or the Fujimi Phantoms. Okay well if this sounds like something you'd be interested in please shoot me an email at GNomad781@gmail.com Obvi
