  4. I've been ordering from Lucky on a regular basis for over 5 years now (I live in New Jersey) and up until recently I was consistently getting my packages on average anywhere from 7 to 10 days from the time they were shipped. However beginning this year there has been a noticeable slowdown - my last shipment took almost 4 weeks. Now there seems to be a couple of explanations for this slowdown (i.e. problems with Hong Kong Post having adequate cargo space to the delays being caused by stepped up inspections by US Customs) regardless, the one thing is pretty certain is that these delays are out

  11. I've been going to shows for years now and I most definitely prefer shows where the tables are raised as the original poster described. I find it's so much easier to view the models and a lot less strain on the back - it also seems to make it easier for me to take pictures as well.
  12. Last July I accidentally messed up the front canopy section of an Academy 1/48 CH-53 kit I was working on. I contacted MRC and was told to send them the UPC code from the boxtop along with part # and they would eventually get me a replacement. Well the long & the short of it is that I finally received my replacement canopy in yesterday's mail - nearly 7 months later. Definitely not the speediest replacement parts service but at least they came through for me! Thanks! Tim in New Jersey
  13. I have a Hasegawa 1/48 scale F-4J "Showtime 100" kit that I'd like to sell. $27.95 plus shipping. I prefer payment via PayPal but will consider a money order - sorry no personal check. Kit has been opened for inspection but all part tress are still in their original sealed bags. Thanks, Tim in New Jersey
  14. I've ordered quite a bit of stuff from LuckyModel over the last several years and usually received my stuff in 6 to 10 business days (I live in New Jersey). My most recent order, placed on 1/21, is the first time I've ever had a problem. After waiting 3 weeks I contacted LM and they wrote me back saying the package was probably tied up in some sort of customs backlog and that I should be prepared to wait between 4 & 6 weeks. While I still don't have my package my postman left a notice in my mailbox this past Saturday saying I could pick up my package tomorrow at the post office. I've n
  15. Hey Pierre.... I've been ordering for Lucky for nearly 10 years now and in my experience the best way to get in touch with them is through there customer account request form. To access this tab do the following: log-in into your Lucky Model account click on the "my account" and the top of the page then click on the my request tab then click on the open request type in your question/issue and then hit the "save" button on the left Good luck, Tim
  16. That's interesting.....I was taking the Staten Island Ferry earlier this week into Manhattan and on the way back I say two F-16's flying pretty low across the bay and up the East Side. Wonder if there might be a connection even though there's a few days between the events.
  17. specifically kit #4054. Basically I just want to know if this kit is as nice as most of the other recent Revell 1/144 kits. Thanks. Tim
  18. How many of you have any come across a really great "model deal" while perusing a local yard sale or flea market?
  19. Jeeez, as if it's not bad enough that I'm being enticed by all the great models coming onto the market these days now I have to deal with getting another good book - GRIN. Seriously though, I'm glad you brought this one to my attention as I'm always looking for a good book.
  20. Just curious, how do you know so much about the inner workings of the North Korean military personnel?
  21. Well if that's what you can do when you "build just for FUN".....I'd love to see what you can you do when you build....uh, when you're serious <GRIN> Seriously, great work my friend.
  22. Glad to hear it. I was reading the rather lengthy post last night about all the guys who were having trouble with their SAL orders from LuckyModel and was really kind of shocked. I've dealt with LuckyModel quite a bit over the last 10 years or so and have nothing but great things to say about Raymond and his crew. Based on what I was able to gather from all the comments it look likes they just need to work out the kinks with this new SAL shipping option. For those of you who've never ordered from Lucky Model before but are thinking about doing so I certainly hope the comments shared by th
