Hobby 2000 (Academy) F-4C 64-0829 in 1/48
Sergei Galicky, Russia replied to Thadeus's topic in In-Progress Pics
Hi! Academy Phantoms has another problem. It's necessary to replace the airbrakes, which, although it has a bulge under a thick wheel like on the F-4C/D/E/G, has internal holes like on the F-4B for thin wheels. Such internal holes was only on early F-4Cs with a wing for a thin wheel. I recommend using the Eduard 48 855 set for the F-4D. This topic was discussed here Best regards! -
Thank you very much, Ben, for your expert opinion! You're right, this type of air brakes was only used on the B-series and the early F-4Cs with thin tires that were transferred to the USAF. I was inattentive. This film shows comparison footage of Navy and USAF tires on the same aircraft, which has thin tires.

Hi! Calling all experts.. I'd like to clarify the type of airbrakes on the Vietnam-era F-4C. Did the holes on the inside of the airbrakes look like those on the F-4B, or like those on the later F-4D/E/G, since the airbrakes were designed for the thicker, flared wing? For example, Eduard makes brakes for the F-4C with holes like the F-4B, but the F-4D has a later variant. Some museum photos of the F-4C already show later airbrakes - this from primeportal.net As we understand it, they could have been replaced much later in service. Some ho

Is Kitty Hawk's Su-27 kit a Su-27sm?
Sergei Galicky, Russia replied to LuckyZero's topic in Jet Modeling
Hi, LuckyZero! You can build a full-fledged SM or SM3 from the KH, and there are many visual differences in the cockpit and outside. A good cockpit for the SM version made by Quinta Studio. Use this reference for modification. https://cloud.mail.ru/public/1mP9/HTCqRjyxy Best regards! Sergey -

This is very strange, I preordered and the 3D cockpit was included -
Hi all! I want to share information about the 1/48 Mi-28 project from Arma Models. This is the second fully 3D printed helicopter model after the Ka-52. The rotor blades are from the plastic model Mi-35 Zvezda. Decals from Begemot. Included 3D decal cockpit set. Best regards! Sergey

ResKit Noses for F-105 Thunderchief?
Sergei Galicky, Russia replied to JackMan's topic in Jet Modeling
Hi all! Quick comparison of Dmold nose kit and HB fuselage kit. -
Hi! NVA MiG-21s did not have identification insignia on the wings.
-
All missiles that have transverse stripes are mockups. There are no stripes on combat missiles.
-
Usually only the central fuel tank is used, it is enough to solve combat tasks. Tanks under the wings are used for long-distance flight, for example, Syria - Russia. But there are no restrictions on the use of underwing tanks together with weapons - the maximum possible load is 4 tons. If you make a model and with tanks and weapons it will not be a mistake, but in real life it does not used.
-
Hi! Of course, the SMT modification can use 1100-liter underwings fuel tanks

Kamov Ka-52 1/48
Sergei Galicky, Russia replied to Sergei Galicky, Russia's topic in Helicopter Modeling
Arma Models announced the release of the Ka-50. I suppose they will start with a 1/48 scale -
Hi! To date, all Kazakh MiG-31s have been modernized in Russia, and some of them have practically been upgraded to the MiG-31BM modification. It is known that Kazakh interceptors are just as equipped as Russian vehicles. Moreover, Kazakhstan received the latest weapons for them, including R-37E missiles. There is no information about the R-77, but I think that their use is possible, taking into account the purchases of Su-30SM aircraft by Kazakhstan. Regards, Sergey

Paulsbrown, very good work! I see a very beautiful conversion! These are photos of the test assembly. Based on the results of this work, correctons are made to the set. As far as I know, 2 people are currently doing this for Arma Models, and these are photos of one of them. What paints and materials he uses for the assembly - is not reported. -

The barrel of the gun in the kit is made of 3D resin, you can buy it separately from metal. The wheels of landing gear in the kit are less detailed, and can buy additionally with more details. The Ka-52, shot down in February, remained on the ground, the crew was evacuated by another Mi-24 that came to the rescue. There was another case of forced landing of the Ka-52. The crew was able to repair the helicopter on their own and flew away. P.S. Bonus - in progress pics -

I could help some modellers, post service works fine. However, the transfer of money from the US and Europe to Russia is now very difficult due to sanctions on the banking system -

When ordering a Ka-52 kit, can choose few options with Arma Models pilots - sitting in the cockpit, after the flight, helicopter inspection, emergency landing -
Thank you, Gabor, for your efforts in collecting and systematizing information! Annetra looked very interesting in my opinion. I hope the project is still alive. Unfortunately, one inadequate person tried to do the same for political reasons with the topic on the Ka-52, but the moderators turned out to be fair and figured out this situation. Thanks to this, we can return to modeling and discuss only those things that are related to the building of modelkits and real prototypes.
