  1. That is so cool! Reminds me of the Cold War days of CIA/spying and general all around snooping and pooping /> . Thanks for sharing the link.
  2. Nice thread dredge! Good tech too.
  3. Which company offers the best F-22 in 1/48th scale? Opinions, suggestions, and advice are welcome.
  4. Are you looking for dimensions on the single pylon or double pylon ESSS wings? I have the Academy 1/35th scale AH-60L and won't be using the single pylon ESSS wings nor the Hellfire missiles and tube rocket launchers. BTW; I happen to be looking for a pair of Academy external fuel tanks for my helo. I have the one pair that came with the model and I want to build it carrying four external fuel tanks. If you have said tanks or know how to get a hold of them, maybe we can work a deal if you're interested in my stuff.
  5. Yep. That's what I was talking about.
  6. You ask good questions because I'm learning about the Strike Eagle too /> ! The only reason why I know what you're talking about is because there's an aftermarket kit (I don't remember which one) that has a PE piece that you put right at the top of the vertical stabilizer under the RWR antenna. It's that strip with bulging fasteners right under the antenna. Also; See the brace on the leading edge just below the antenna running horizontal? See how bulky it is? My Revell model has raised lines to represent those braces but I can barely see them. The aftermarket kit I mentioned also has
  7. Since I like building 1/48 and 1/32 scale aircraft I plan on building a shelf floor to ceiling to take care of that problem /> . It will be in the modeling/craft/bicycle storage-garage/man cave/food storage/general storage room. The master bedroom in our house is so big (About 600sq ft) that the wife and I decided to turn it into said room.
  8. Here's the starboard Vertical stabilizer of an F15I: I'm going to guess that's it's similar to the F-15E's vertical stabilizer. Hope that helps.
  9. /> I goofed! I meant to say Hasegawa. It's a Hasegawa F-15C that they want $39.99.
  10. Awesome informative thread :cheers:/> . Just might put the Talon on my 'to do' list.
  11. There's a Tamiya F-15C at my LHS right now that I'm contemplating. They want $39.99 for it.
  12. Check out this source: http://www.arcair.co...CK32028/00.shtm
  13. Just took a look at my F-18A. It's flat in that with no step as well. What's ironic is that it's an incredibly poor model by AMT.
  14. Nice! I'm building a 1/48th scale Revell F-18E right now and plan on building the A/E-18G Growler in the future.
  15. After a twenty year absence from model building I'm a little behind the times in the modeling industry. I was hoping to cover your point via the last option.
  16. Just found this thread. Great build so far! Any updates on it?
  17. Who makes the best (overall) 1/48th scale F-15C Eagle? I am interested in opinions on model accuracies, flaws or shortcomings, and especially fit. Credit to GlennCauley for his Best F-15E thread layout as I used it to set up my thread. Thanks Glenn!
  18. Ah; Very interesting and informative insight! Good points on your last statement. Thanks for helping to bring me up to date!
  19. DISCLAIMER: Just my observation after being absent from the modeling world the last 18 years. The Revell F-15E quality is the exact quality of Monogram from the '70's and '80's era. Revell was no where near that quality during the '70's and '80's. I'm going to W.A.G. and say the Revell F-15E was tooled at the former Monogram factory/facility/plant. Since Revell acquired Monogram they simply labeled it a Revell model. So in that light, you are correct that it's 100% Revell tooling because Revell owns Monogram now. I started building models in 1971 and then stopped in the mid '90's. So betw
  20. Back to the top for a great tech source :cheers:/>.
  21. Thanks for sharing the link :cheers:/> ! That'll help me with my build.
  22. After examining my model I noticed there is a slight curve in the wing tip area to represent that. But it isn't as pronounced as I've seen it on other models, though.
  23. When I saw the thread poll results I was perplexed. The Revell I know from back in the day (25+ years ago) were terrible kits like the 1/48th scale AMT F-18C I just recently bought /> . After test-fitting the Revell F-15 I realize, because of the quality and accuracy, said F-15 is just a Monogram under the Revell name (I know Revell and Monogram are one now). At the LHS there was also a Hasegawa 1/48th scale F-15E that I was really tempting to buy instead because of what I used to know what Revell and Hasegawa was from back in the day. But because of this thread I got the Revell inst
  24. Due to this thread I just picked up a 1/48th scale Revell F-15E at my LHS :)/> .
