Hi, I received the kit from Mac yesterday, and the decals from Kris today. Thank you very much for this, and thanks must go to Kris especially, for organising such a great group build! Jake

Hello, Here is the finished model. I expected this kit to be fantastic, however I ended up slightly disappointed. I found the front suspension assembly and the gearbox both impossible to build. I attached the gearbox to the engine, and about a week later, I noticed it was wonky. So, I had to detach every single one of the rods in the engine area, and then cut the gearbox away from the engine. But for the most part, this was a good kit. I used Tabu Design decals for the JPS markings, Tamiya seatbelts and the EBBRO front nose frame as aftermarket parts. I am still waiting for a nameplate, wh

I'm sorry that this hasn't been a very well updated WIP post. Anyway, the Lotus is nearly finished. I am waiting for the JPS decals to come from HLJ, but this could be a few weeks still. So it won't be completely finished for a few weeks. 20140119_130549 by Jake Kilshaw, on Flickr The tub is Tamiya TS-30 Silver Leaf. Yeah, GT6 is great, much better than GT5. The handling of the cars is much better and much more manageable. I seem to be progressing through it very quickly however: I've just unlocked the final championship for the International A licence... Then again, I haven't completed all of the races, only enough for me to progress... I must say, that the NASCARs are much more difficult to drive than in GT5. Where are you up to in the game?

You think that's fast? One of the guys on F1M finished the EBBRO Lotus 49 in FOUR DAYS!

Here is my second entry into the group build, with the Ferrari 126C2 finished. It is EBBRO's JPS Lotus 72E. My model will represent Emerson Fittipaldi's Lotus 72E from the 1973 Formula 1 Season. I haven't decided on a race yet, but I need to do that soon as I need to order a nameplate for it. At Scale Model World in November, I bought three of the EBBRO kits: this, the Rob Walker 72C, and the 1967 Lotus 49. Every single build report or review that I have seen about these kits praises the quality, and attention to detail in these kits, and some even suggest that the quality is as good as or e

Thanks. I'm not a Ferrari fan either, but I just wanted to build this because of the rear wing! I've started the Ebbro Lotus 72E, and I'll enter that as well. Jake -

Hello, Here is my latest model, Fujimi's Ferrari 126C2. It is Gilles' Long Beach '82 car, which features the strange 'double' rear wing which later got him disqualified from the final standings. I used Tamiya seatbelts, and paint was Tamiya, Citadel, Vallejo and Alclad. The kit is awful, and the majority of the parts do not fit. I also had problems with painting it, as Fujimi seem to use a strange plastic that reacted badly with a lot of different paints. Thanks, Jake -

Thanks Bigasshammm! I can't wait to get the game now, but I have to wait until christmas! Why does December have to be so long! :) Anyway, This evening I have done the rest of the decals. All decals are now on the car. The next jobs are: tyre decals, attach wheels to car, seatbelts, seat to car, rear wing to car. And then it will be done! Thanks, Jake -

Thanks! No, I did glue the body on. It just required a lot of pressure to get it to stick. This build has been a bit of a disaster, so I'll probably enter the GB again with my next model. (Ebbro JPS Lotus 72E) Jake -

Hello, I have finally solved the paint problems I've been having (sort of). I had no trouble painting darker Alclad colours, but as soon as I tried to spray an Aluminium or Stainless Steel, I had problems that were different every time. Sometimes it didn't cover, other times it bubbled or crazed. I have decided not to mess around with these colours any more on this model, because the Fujimi plastic obviously doesn't mix well with these paints. Yesterday, I bought some Citadel (war-gaming) paints from Games Workshop, as I have heard that their metallic colours can work well.... and they do! T -
The Fujimi kits are not very good models. The Tamiya and Ebbro F1 kits are the best. Fujimi have made some kits of some cars that Tamiya have missed out, many of which are really good models.

Hello, After a couple of weeks with no progress due to frustration because of the Alclad not working, I have finally done some work on the Ferrari. So, what are my thoughts on the kit? I think that this model is one of the worst I've built (OK, I haven't built many...). So far, I haven't used a single part that has fit without modification, and the way that some of the parts align is very vague. I will build this model with the body panel glued on, but I have had to remove the air filters from the engine in order that I might be able to attach it to the chassis and for the bodywork to fit ov -

Thanks. I have done a test fit on the main parts. I think I'll follow some advice from the post on F1M, and only paint the bodywork when I've completed the chassis, so I know of any modifications I need to make on the body part to allow it to fit onto the chassis. Here is the test fit so far: Thanks, Jake -
Hello, I am new to this forum, and I should probably introduce myself. I am 14 years old, and live in Warwick, England. Here is my entry to the group build. It is Fujimi's Ferrari 126C2 Long Beach GP. This was the car where Ferrari sported a 'double' offset rear wing, in an attempt to increase downforce on the street circuit. This wing later resulted in Villeneuve being disqualified from the final standings. My previous experience with Fujimi kits has been truly awful. The only other Fujimi kit I ever built was the Ferrari F2007, around a year ago, and I never finished it, in fact I sold the

Hello, Here is my Williams FW24 that I have just finished. I'll be entering something in the group build soon! The Williams-BMW FW24 was used by the famous Williams F1 Team throughout the 2002 Formula One season. The #5 car was driven by Ralf Schumacher, whilst the #6 car was driven by Juan Pablo Montoya. My model represents JP Montoya’s car from the 2002 United States Grand Prix, held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This was one of the most controversial races in history, with a backfired staged 1-2 finish between the two Ferrari drivers. Williams’ race wasn’t smooth either, because the

Yes, Alclad is fantastic! One little word of warning I would give you from my experience of this kit, is the DFV Engine's exhaust pipes. They are very difficult to assemble. Try to get them as straight as possible, and of course the ends need to be close to each other, to make it easier for them to connect together when you attach the connector pipes. Jake

I'm looking forward to seeing this model! Who were the drivers for it?

Have fun, this is a great kit! Here's mine: http://formulaonemodelling.wordpress.com/tyrrell-p34/ Good luck!

Thank you! I've not had any problems yet... however masking the white/blue was very difficult and time-consuming. I also purchased a set of Studio 27 Cartograf decals, these are just better quality than the kit decals, and include white fill-in decals for the complicated part of white on the cowling. These are similar to the rear-wing fill-in decals. Good luck and I'm glad that you like mine!
