  2. I remember reading an article in Popular Mechanics about a pilot flying off the deck of a carrier in a crusader with the wings folded and surviving, It had an illustration with the wing tilt mechanism showing the wings tilted. Got a good deal on the Airfix 1/24 mustang at a toy show and thought it would make a nice Tuskegee p51. Anybody know where I could find decals? greg

  5. Very interested in this build as I would like to build a regular ambulance on the Hummer, I have a box full of Jurassic park Hummers looking for completion. Here is a Johnny lightning and the Revell snap that I have done. Hope you can share your dimensions on the body. greg
  6. Revelogram 'Rambo' chopper and 144th Hmmmm? I wonder what kind of test that would be with blade wash on the model? greg
  7. The Ford Louisville set fits the ALF frame, you have to extend the frame at the rear of double frame to get it to fit when doing an ALF body work, If you do the body work from the picture you might get away with splicing the two frames together. Here is one of my snorkels with # 20 Humbrol red on it.
  8. The paint I use and if you have availability to is Humbrol #20 Crimson red. When AMT released the kits they had ALF red in spray cans. May I suggest to you another site: http://scalefirehouse.com/sfh_brd/index.php?sid=5e51bdaa3c110f1ae432aa49e84007fa for a wealth of fire information. For the rear tandem I would suggest a set from another tandem truck kit instead of using two single axles. There are body modifications to make the cabinets work right and there are two variations on the body work around the rear duals. here is one of my trucks The snorkel in the kit was exclusive ALF desi
  9. Did the Denver Bronco's give their uniforms to the Cleveland Browns?
  10. Great pictures of a great plane, the only thing that made these pictures of these fast planes look slow were the ones with the canopies up
  11. Are there aftermarket decals for the large scale 1/24,25 scale planes from Bandai, Trumpet, Airfix or is there a site where I can order some. greg
  12. Have a question regarding the main rotor on the Bell cobra. I have an old 1/32 Aurora Cobra that is a glue bomb which I want to rebuild into a Fire Copter like what the US Forest service has. My question is that the mast rotor in the Aurora kit looks like a 14 penny nail and I want to change it. I have a spare Revell Huey and was going to swap the rotors and then I noticed the Cobra does not have counter weights, How does the Cobra and Jet Ranger masts work without the hardware the Huey has? Cobra mast JetRanger mast Huey mast Could I get away with removing the counter weight syst

  16. After spending the afternoon researching the research site and looking at about 30 of the 64 pages on Phantoms I have not found what I was looking for. My question is on Marine f4's with the two tone gray circa 80's paint scheme did the belly stay white or was the ship all light gray and just the dark on the upper body? Also did the wheel well edges have the red outline like the Navy planes? Are all the edges red or just specific areas? Thanks for the help. greg Just a fire modeler wondering into the wild blue
  17. As stated by a member in another thread "99.9% sure that's their 1/72 kit. I have a couple for my kids. They are BAAAD! I know it says 1/32, but there are no 1/32 UH-1B kits. Closet think is the 1/24 monogram Huey. HTH Ray " Revell has re-popped a 1/32nd scale UH 1 D since 1967. I made one into a LACityFD Copter Revell also had another interesting Huey that was motorized and had lights, It was 1/32. Excuse the condition as I have not gotten around to finishing this rehab It was pretty ingenious as the rear rotor skid was the power controller and rheostat inside controlled the spee
  18. I think this is a re-pop of this Huey version that Monogram had years ago They also had a Jet Ranger snap, both are 1/72nd greg
  19. Very nice story, maybe Mattel should make a 'build a Barbie' Have a Merry Christmas greg
  20. Keep up the positive attitude and look forward. That was total destruction, I can imagine what you felt. I was at work when I was notified of my house fire. First thing I saw of my house fire was the plume on the horizon as I drove home, My prayers are with you. greg
  21. My prayers and hope go to Mr. Jennings. I have had the experience that he is going through five years ago. I was able to salvage some of my collection which sat in my front yard in a portable storage pod for half a year. I suggest all of you that treasure your collections have your insurance inflation proofed or a rider for your collection. I was offered 10 cents on the dollar from the adjuster. greg [/img]
