  3. So here we go. I too had the 51 fever as a young'n. The Revell 1/32 Huey converted into fire firefighter, This was done before VCR's, Video snaps, Just a copy of the LACityFD inventory. so details are lax And just like in the movies it turns into the 1/24 Monogram Rambo chopper in fire motif Using the JoHan LAPD decal and some red letraset rub n letters The original clear see trough Monogram chopper turned civilian with this paint scheme It took a wood burning tool with a heated Exacto blade to cut the door open There ya go my some of my rotor division greg

Tim the episode was where the roads were washed out and the 51 squad was repositioned at another station the LA 'COUNTY' chopper was different than the LA CITYchopper both were uh 1 c or newer, I did the 1/32 Revell in the same scheme with a drop tank, I'll post pic of that one Check HULU for episodes, they used the chopper in several episodes greg

  7. Awhile ago (years) Los Angeles was thinking of purchasing Canadair CL 215 fire water bombers. See I'm a buckeye in the Midwest and used my noodle to think of what the paint scheme would be. I used the Heller 215 kit oob and used the ESCI helicopter decals to make this version of the CL 215 bomber. So I hope I picked the right category for this tale as it could be commercial or fiction, but I chose props greg
  8. Just new here and wanted to contribute. Here is my built oob of the ESCI 1/48th LAFD huey kit. I enjoyed the kit, I'm sure there are a lot of errors in the kit but I'm not one for exactness, just glad to have a kit I can use for ideas take care, keep the glue where you want it greg

I am a fire apparatus model builder and now I venture into unknown territory. I recently had a 45th class reunion and met up with a classmate who was the RIO in this crash.
