  1. Hi, for those who interested here is a work-in-progress thread of HpH's B-52H https://www.modelforum.cz/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=129318 at Czech modelforum. Although it is in Czech language the pictures are selfexplanatory enough. Regards, 66misos
  2. Thanks for reply. These all are Russian Cobras - they have either grey or black prop. blades: So yes, that grey one is probably clear coat over the metal for corrosion protection. Regards, 66misos
  3. Thank you for reply. It is clear. But it looks they used both paintings in parallel. That grey one - was it only matt varnish on the steel surface or was it some grey paint?
  4. Hi, could anybody, please, explain reason and/or purpose of the different colors on the Aeroproducts propeller blades on P-39? They were either black with yellow stencils and yellow tips, or silver-grey with black stabcils and without yellow tips: Thank you in advance. 66misos
  5. Hi, Here is another colorized photo. Not exactly the aircraft, but at least related to it - the aircraft carrier IJN Akagi: Regards, 66misos

  17. Hi Jason, Thanks for comment. So here we go: Regards, 66misos
  18. Thank you :D I followed process described here at Mig3 pages. Everything is done in Adobe PS. Basically every element (color, construction detail, shadow etc.) is in the separate layer, it enables me to control everything individually. However, the result could be more than 100 layers and PSD file of several hundreds MB. Final result exported to JPG file of tens or hundreds kB.
  19. Hi, this is probably not real aviation art but I enjoyed colorizing a lot. Hope you like them too. So here we go: 1.) Avia S-199 (actually post WWII) 2.) Captured Bf-109G2 3.) Il-2 Sturmovik Thanx for watching. 66misos
  20. This photo shows interesting detail - bright fuselage with the evident dark panel lines and rivets bellow the left wing. I was not able to find something similar on the matt grey painted surfaces. However it is quite usual on the NMF as seen on this photo mix - Gabreski's plane is in the red rectangular:
  21. I know, the last post in that thread is mine ;-) I do not understand one thing. Plane was camouflaged with RAF paints earlier, before invasion stripes were painted. Photos show that bottom side of the horizontal stabilizer and at least outer half of the underwings were NMF, while bottom engine cowling and fuselage was probably Light Grey. Where was demarcation line between NMF and LG before invasion stripes were painted? Why it should be somewhere in the middle of the wing? Or was LG painted latter, together with invasion stripes?
  22. Tbolt, thanks for correction and explanation. So Gabreski's plane had USAAF insignias of the left upperwing and no insignia on the right upperwing but had insignias on the both right and left underwings Btw, what does mean "DP"?
  23. It is interesting that they did not:
  24. @Greatgonzo - very nice kit. And a serious "homework" before you started. I want to do something similar - to colorize some bw photos to better see campo patterns. @Hal - as Tbolt wrote my intention was only to show that NMF has typical visual features, while camouflaged surface has different visual features. And under the similar light/photo conditions NMF surface has always similar appearance, regardless different planes or units. And based only on these visual analogies I tried to guess/estimate surface of Gabreski's plane. Thanks for hint about Little Friend page. Plus I also found web p
  25. You undisclosured me ;-) What about wing? Firsty let me quote from P47.kitmaker where they had some hig rez photo: "...After sending the pic to Pro Modeler Wayne Little, the following things were noticed: 1. The front lower cowling certainly looks Medium Sea Grey to me, if it were NMF it would have a brighter reflective appearance I would think… even though the image looks to be taken on an overcast day. 2. The drop tank is painted and not NMF. 3. Now, the undercarriage leg cover ‘looks’ NMF to me, much brighter, certainly when compared to points 1 & 2. 4. However, the small hatch on
