  2. Run a small electric heater out to it? This is coming from a guy living in Arizona, though.
  3. We used to call it America Worst..
  4. DOH! ..And I JUST bought another Revellogram T-6... Gotta save the Beer Monsy for this kit!
  5. Okay, I got a kit that's older than I am. The Lindberg Goose is 1/48-1/50, and is pretty stark in the execution. The most glaring thing so far are the toylike wheels. I'm hoping someone out there can suggest a True Details set or similar to replace these chunks. I'm building Cutter's Goose from Tales of the Gold Monkey. DRAW Decals has a set for the Signifer kit in 48.. Hopefully I can fit them to the Lindberg. I'll probably be replacing the P&W engines with some resin items. The cowls are a big visual point on this plane, and while I don't plan to go nuts with this build, the engine/p
  6. A friend of mine once bought a small 60's camp trailer, gutted it out and made a small shop outta it. He parked it in the yard and bob's yer uncle.
  7. Clever idea, Steve. I use basswood or tupelo for medium to large bucks. Both woods shape easily. I've also tried plaster bucks from a latex mold with mixed results.
  8. It's such a pleasure watching your progress with this build. I'm just getting back in the saddle after six years off getting my bad eyes fixed. Isn't the internet great with things like this? Best of luck in the final steps, Alf. Chip
  9. Having built both the Revell 1/72 and Lindberg 1/48 Stearmans, I'm ready to buy a couple new tool kits and stretch some sprue again for rigging..
  10. Love it, good metalizing effect too.
  11. I'm 57-stuck-at-12... Lotsa hanging from the ceiling.
  12. I miss the Squadron paper flyer.. They have always done square with me. That said, you really do have to place a big order, as well as know the prices to get a deal with them.
  13. Well Mike, it could have been worse. -A few years back, I got a bunch of kits from a guy in Ehrenberg AZ -Out in the big ol' desert. Got home and got the warm fuzzies opening all that styrene goodness.. ..And found a live scorpion the size of Rhode Island in one. Mr. Murphy sure has a sense of humor. <_<
  14. Try washing it in a tub of water and a splash of "Orange" household cleaner. Another possibility is using lemon juice or "Pet Oxygen" used to clean up after kitty accidents. Good luck.
  15. In the world it's known as Artist's Block.. I find that these things work when I've got several projects stalled and I'm losing interest/gumption.. Take a field trip out to where my 1/1 model subject is. I'm lucky to live in a area with a lot of aircraft graveyards and the Pima Air Museum. This usually gets me pumped to restart that project kit. Go take some sub-assembly and vow to superdetail the crap out of it. It's like building ten models from the same box. Alternatively -I'll grab a simple snap-tite junk kit from my stash (I won a lot in club raffles) And build the thing in one night..
  16. Couldn't hoit! I use a Dust B'Gone all the time, and I'll bet my old lungs are all **SPARKILLY** inside.. The aged, outer side o' me though..
  17. Thanks for the replies! I remember I was going to use it for seam masking some long-forgotten airplane... So, can thinned? Elmers white glue be used for masking canopies? Use it straight?
  18. Hi all, I've been on hiatus from model building for the last some years. I remember buying these bottles of Elmer's Gel Glue and Washable Clear School Glue back then, but I can't remember what I was going to use them in place of. I know this sounds kinda dumb, but I appreciate any feedback from my fellow modellers. Chip
  19. Just a drop of Future in the Smoke worked for me. I washed the canopy well in a dish soap mixture before I airbrushed the Smoke.
  20. First post on the forum, hi everyone! I'm also a Co2 guy.. I use a tank w/Paashe regulator, and it preserves Marital Harmony.
