  1. That little round devil has been my go-to saw since the mid-90s. The whole two sets are money well spent imho.
  2. The acrobatic kit is great. Its only lacking the wing-walker pylon but there's photos on the web to get you there. I wish the 48 scale Lindberg would get re-released, another fun build.
  3. I build just about anything except armor. But most of my time here is at the in-progress sections. FWIW.
  4. It's just masterful Giovanni. Eagerly awaiting the next installment. I love F-101s. Built a bunch, even the Matchbox one. You inspire me to do a AMS (Advanced Modeler Ayndrome) build, and I swore those off years ago. Cheers, Chip
  5. You guys will laugh at me ..it's okay, but I truly miss A-10 warthog from the 486 days. I'd love to have that game, simple as it was, for my Windows XP. I haven't flown a military flight SIM since. Chip
  6. Okay, the Snark is out, as well as my Aerobee Hi and a 1/44 B-1B. Waiting on my cataract surgery in October, cuz right now I'm building kinda blind. -Still building though. Chip
  7. Digging my Snark kit out today. I think the decals are still good. Or maybe the Aerobee Hi.. Waiting for August.
  8. This sounds great at first look. I think you are going to find that a lot of the posters here are passionate about this or that particular subject, and if you ask for feedback on a project you'll get great help. Myself, though, I'd have to see your track record of producing actual finished, existing kits for sale before I take the risk with my wallet. I wish you well with this.
  9. What I'm building are the following: F-7F, P3 Orion, B-25, DC-9, TBM, and AS 350 helo. (Oh yeah, I have a Canadair, too). I've been collecting parts and decals for some time.. Just no pics of the actual mechanisms. Chip
  10. Outtasight! Thank you, fellows.
  11. Hi all, Need info/picture how a typical retardant tank works. Does it have "bomb bay doors" that swing open, or a sliding gizmo, or what? I think I'm onto an idea to simulate the "in-flight" slurry discharge, but I'm stuck on this detail. Any help? Chip
  12. For airplanes. Hobbycraft/ESCI Cessna Skyhawk 1/48 Monogram F-105 1/48 Monogram P-40 1/48 Chip
  13. Sorry to be a buzzkill. But I hope this doesn't cost another pilot his life in filming like Art Scholl. Probably not, with the state of CGI and whatnot, but I can't watch the original without thinking about Art.
  14. ...Looking at that I couldn't help to imagine two huge solar panels on both sides and a mini-me Darth Vader figure inside.. Fozzy, did you use anything like a lathe/mill to make any parts? Chip
  15. Still no idea how to display it when done yet? Maybe a shadowbox? Very beautiful model Jan. Chip
  16. ...And Hyperscale and CultTVman if you're into sci fi. Starship Modeler too..
  17. I do understand that magazines like FSM are expensive to produce. All that color photography and such. But they are facing all the (mostly) FREE info on You Tube.. I really don't get the Mig magazine prices either. Neat stuff, but 40.00 plus! That's a kit or two. Unbelievable.
  18. I like International Scale Modeler in addition to here and the others just listed. And the model mags have certainly gotten too expensive for my wallet, too.
  19. Been watching this build avidly, with nothing to contribute, but I do send best hopes for a speedy and painless recovery to you! Chip

    ZVEZDA models?

Their kits don't "fall together" by any means. The kits require a lot of work, but to me, that's more fun. (Sand, test fit, sand...) Kinda like a Kopro or similar kit from Poland 20 something years ago. ..slightly better, but definitely a "skill level 4".
  21. Good scratchbuilds make ARC my favorite modeling site, and this one is wonderful. FWIW, I believe that it's good ppractice to make your audience "work for it" a little.. I hide some things to get folks to look through hatches, portholes.. Move around the model on the display table. My 02, Chip
  22. Best prop I've seen in many years. Good idea!
  23. I can add that masking tape on both sides of the gap keeps putty use to just what/where you need.
  24. I'm also looking into doing some "3D" stuff. By cutting the plane in 3/4the and having it "fly" into/out of a picture on the wall.
