  1. Hi Pappy, That must of stung some to need to grind away some of that pretty sidebay detail. Had to be done though. <_< What are you going to arm it with? My vote is go big with a couple B61 nukes. Belcher Bits in Canada has some nice special weapons in their line. Couldn't sleep tonight.. Watching your detailed and helpful build is a great way to pass the time, thank you.
  2. Question.. What happened to the "Make and Take" sessions, sponsored by Revellogram, Testors, etc?
  3. Vote/protest with your wallets, folks. [p
  4. I haven't seen a Thayer in a long time.. Are they still made? Might be ebay time.. Maybe try Atlanta Airbrush?
  5. If you can find some Floquil Crystal Cote, try that. I've saved some archaic decals a few times with it.
  6. I've had several orders now in the past months from David Barnes, maker of PropBlurs. He posts on eBay as "brassdogornaments". Great guy. I ordered some PB's from him, only to find out when my Wife got home, she had cancelled our P.O. box that day. -We'd just moved in to a new home.. P.O. sent the order back to David.. He emailed me right away, and resent the order. I offered to pay the new shipping, but he waived that and sent it to me on his dime. He's always dependable, and his work is top-notch. Highly recommended. Chip Johnson
  7. I've stopped watching tv almost entirely. No broadcast hookup other than Netflix. Just got burned out on it all. Olympics? too political, too much BS. I'd rather not.
  8. Jack (One-eyed terrier and pal of Jake Cutter) Tales of the Gold Monkey TV series.
  9. Forgive me if there's been a similar thread about this. I've found reviews (complaints?) about many Trumpeter kits, but not any recommendations to buy any until this thread. I buy 99% of my kits online nowadays. Mostly from reviews. Chip
  10. Hi all. Reading on this forum and others, so far, I've heard nothing particularly positive about offerings from Trumpeter. I've never bought a Trumpeter kit. I'm wondering if anyone here can suggest anything in Trumpeter's line of aircraft or helo's that really stand out compared to the other manufacturer's offerings. I find it hard to imagine they stink at everything. So, honest question here.. Are there some good (Or great) kits from them? Any suggestions? Thank you.
  11. Nice! Hey, how often did you need to change knife blades, and how many did you use?
  12. Plain plastic, my man. Other neat scribing guides; A steel flexible strip, sold by UMM. And a vacuum cleaner rubber belt. I've had mine for years, and it does the trick. Cheap, too.
  13. Anyone tried it? Do you like it? Where do I get it...
  14. I've been buying a lot of stuff lately from Amazon. Recently, I saw a kit I wanted for 18 bucks. I tossed it in my online "cart" to buy later in the week. Three days later, it had increased to $23.00! arrgh. I left it in the cart, and over the course of a month, it changed prices up and down numerous times.. I cought it at $17 and hit the buy button. Weird times, gents.
  15. I heard Squadron was sold awhile back. Who owns it now?
  16. Hasegawa.. I build Voodoos in all scales.
  17. Well, if they're like KISS, this will be the start of many Farewell Tours..
  18. Hello, fellow Zonie, I've built a couple of the Minicraft DC-3s, and they are accurate enough. I'm not too into AMS with that scale, though.
  19. Man, my favorite jet. I would have to say that if it costs $75+ like the latest new kits, it'd have to be pretty darn special to tear me away from my Monograms and Hasegawas.
  20. maybe you Canucks can ship him off to the NWT, where he can be eaten by bears and black flies...
  21. Another Stearman cropduster for me, this time in a favorite scale, neat!
