  1. Yes, I've heard of this as well, but the UK way is a little cost prohibitive for me even if we could get it. I have mine budgeted out for each month, so for now this is okay for me. However, when I am building it and get down to the last issue for the month I keep thinking...."That's It?" I must have moooore!. Then I have to wait for the next 4 issues to come in the mail. Oh,well. Thanks for your thoughts, Brett. Mark
  2. SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER Updates - 2018 Hi Everyone! I didn't forget about you. I've been working my tail off at my secular job. A Lot of changes being made that interfere with my projects BIG TIme. Hopefully it will calm down a bit over the next few weeks. For my DeLorean build, I had to hold off on that for about a month because my ISSUE 10 had some missing parts. The different size fixing screws are all labeled with letters like DM which represent the screw size needed to mount some of the parts together or to the main frame of the car. Well, instead of sending me the screws label
  3. Just Got Issues 3 - 6 in the mail and assembled. Let me know what you think. Check out new pics 8 - 23. Mark https://www.nemvia.net/apps/photos/album?albumid=16123425
  4. Very Nice work. It's coming together, very nicely. Looking forward to more! Mark
  5. AUGUST UPDATES - 2018 Wiring, Wiring, WIRING! Yes, that's pretty much all that I've been doing this last month. Wiring and double checking the circuits to make sure they're working. I've had to do this because there were so many loose wired from both the Enterprise and the Dock that I needed to start getting these out of the way so I can do more wiring and lighting. Really there are only a few more effects that need to be added and then I can start working on the display stand switches and trim work. Besides the wiring I've sealed the open hanger on the aft end of the dock. The ceiling i
  6. Okay! There you have it! Thanks for the research. Either way the overall cost is too much for me to take on all at once so, spreading it out over time works for me. Also it's nice to put something together that doesn't require painting and masking, etc.. A Nice easy "take-My-Time" build. I appreciate the assistance. Thanks Again, Mark
  7. Hi Ken, I believe I saw this kit on e-bay and it said it had 18 issues. It was being offered for $140 and about $55 with shipping. I never bothered to look into the entire cost of the kit directly from eaglemoss because I knew it was cost prohibitive for me at least at this time to buy it all at once if that is even possible through this company. I haven't really checked on that. This build is just a diversion for me and one that I can work on very quickly to give myself a sense of accomplishment while working on larger projects. I also like it because all of the painting is done for yo
  8. I Just received my first 2 issues of my Back To The Future Delorean Time Machine. I've never done a subscription build before, but this model intrigues me. The best part about this build is that everything is pre-painted to specs and all that is required is the assembly of the pieces. I LOVE IT! Each of the issues takes only 10 - 15 minutes to assemble. There are decals and screws that come with the kit. This build is a nice diversion from my other projects which are very time consuming. So here goes.... enjoy! 9. JULY UPDATES - 2018 Back on track for this month! I was able to finish off the top of the display base by tacking down some Black Velvet material so that is now completed. I can now prepare to add the trim to the base then begin working on the lighting panel controls. In this month's update I have made some lighting test shots of both the light panels and the mark lighting. But first I had to square off the frame of the dock. This needed to be done because the added weight of the Enterprise was causing the front end of the dock to sag. So I had to level that off by adding a cable and turn
  10. February Updates - 2018Hi Everyone! This months updates are pretty good. First I have started to add the Black Velvet Material to the Base of the model. This will help make the model appear to floating over the base. The panel frames will be supported by two screws on each side of the frames to hold the structure up and help keep it level. This is also a very good sign because it means that I will soon be adding the Enterprise permanently into the drydock, then adding the port side panel frame assembly into place. I've added all of the wiring and some new lighting to the rear hanger bay on the
  11. January Updates - 2018 Hello everyone! My apologies for the delays. I really have been working on my build, but Life just keeps getting in the way of my progress. Hopefully things will be a little better now that my peak season at work has calmed down. For my project updates I have cast resin pieces for the outside details of the hanger bay lighting effects. I had to make the pieces transparent so you can see the actual lighting effects. I'm in the process of opaqueing the castings to prevent light leaks. I was asked by my client to put some different lighting into the saucer section of
  12. September Updates - 2017 Hi Everyone. I've been making a little more progress with the dock build. I've added some magnets to the engineering section to hole the Deflector dish assembly in place. This will make the Housing removable in case someone needs to get to some of the engineering electronics. I've also added the wiring and LEDs for both the Deflector Ramp on/Ramp off effects as well as adding the Photon torpedo firing effects to the launching tubes. I still need to fix a few of the light leeks but the effect look very nice. I've added a small video for those who would like to view th
  13. Thanks Phantom! August Updates - 2017 This has been an eventful month. Adding the Test video of the Enterprise flyby to my library has given me a little extra motivation. I want to thank all of you who have checked out the video on youtube. I am looking forward to making my own ST:TMP version of the flyby when I'm finished, shot for shot. Also I'm planning on making an additional version that would include portions of the Enterprise and Drydock that were not shown in TMP. Any ideas? Let me know. In this month's update I've been concentrating on getting all of the
  14. July Updates - 2017 - Supplemental... Okay, I usually don't jump ahead of my posts here, but I just had to add this to the blog.... I recently purchased a 80cm motorized camera dolly and I wanted to use it for several special photography effects on the side. But most importantly, when I finished the drydock build I wanted to make a duplicate flyby movie that would match ST:TMP's drydock flyby. I made a few passes with the model in it's unfinished state to get an idea of what I can do for a final project for this build. The results of the tests came out very good even though the light
  15. July Updates - 2017 Hey Everyone! My apologies to all for the big delay. As you may have noticed my website was hacked and my NemVia.com version of my is no longer functioning for my website. I have had to update my site to NemVia.net and try to clean up as much of the garbage that the hackers have caused and try to get things back in order as best as I could. I've had a few setbacks with the Drydock build, sick relatives and other problems have caused further delays. Although I do have a small update for this month I think you'll find some of it interesting. I became discouraged when I fo

  21. 1/350 scale ST:TMP Drydock « on: Today at 11:44:34 am » I Moved this topic from the Armor Modeling section to here. Hope that's okay. I didn't realize there was more than one Display Case. Sorry guys. This is a model I built in 2009 to the scale of the PL Enterprise. Originally I wanted to take this model to some hobby shows, but the size of it and the transporting of it made it difficult. The dock ended up being about 42" long and about 2' wide and 2' high. It is built almost entirely out of styrene plastic. Everything was built by scratch. This was a learning experience especially b
  22. Thanks Phantom... But I think this thread dropped off the "Display case" section somehow. Should I re start it? Or did I put it in the wrong category. Just FYI this is not my current build.... this one is an older one I did a few years back that I never shared with ARC. Let me know. Mark

  24. Greetings everyone! Phantom suggested I move this topic over here. I agree. well, I am currently in mid construction of this build which is taking place in two phases. The first part of the build is the DeBoers Refit Enterprise model which is about 45" in length, so this will require a dock which is about 56" in length. Both of the Enterprise models are pretty much complete, I have to hold off on sealing the saucer sections until I can run the wiring through the support armature that will hold the Enterprise in the drydock so that will appear to be floating. I've already built a drydock for th
