  1. Thank you! Thanks to all who replied. Now I have an azimuth to follow!
  2. Any information on this, nomenclature, dimensions, and does anyone make one in 1/48th? I have the Furball decal sheet to do this aircraft, and would like to build it as pictured. Thanks!
  3. Just to add to the subject, Here are, top to bottom, Academy/Zheng, Ozmods Conv4803, Monogram A-10, and Reskit RSU48-0449.
  4. Roger that. I had no idea there was a difference in the fin spread between variants. I learn something new every day. Ozmods offered 2 different sets of tanks for the F-111 series, OZConv4803, mentioned above, and SDA48001, which I would guess stands for ScaleDown, and are def longer per your picture. Thanks! Caracal decals had a Pave Tack pod 3D printed. Have you seen it?
  5. Hi Jim, I printed this picture a few years ago, and that's where all my notes regarding the tanks are! The Scaledown tanks look about right, but are a bit rare, plus the bonus with the Reskit tanks are that they are hollow, thus MUCH lighter, so that should help keep the dreaded wing droop at bay. The Reskit tanks are a recent add to their 'Vark catalog, and I was happy to find them. PS Will you ever do a Mr Vark Tales book, to include your flying stories and hints & tips for us who just want to build a decent kit? Your EDC book was terrific!
  6. They got it right!!!! Hello dear Sir, Thank you very much for contacting us and for your interest in our products! We are happy to help you with your request on dimensions of RSU48-0449. Please, find the pictures attached. Main measurements are: Tank length - 159,14mm (6.26 in) Tank diameter - 16.46mm (0.63 in) "Container" width and height (brutto dimensions, if needed) - 20.25mm (0.79in). Hopefully it'll help with your project. Kindest regards, Team Reskit.
  7. I see Reskit now has F-111 tanks for sale, does anyone have a set to measure? I got a set from OzMods (OZCONV4803) that are a resin copy of the Academy tanks, and both are too small - by a lot. Best I found is the real tanks are 299 inches long, roughly 6 1/4" Academy - 5 1/8" Monogram A-10 - 5 7/8" Input is always welcome.
  8. I picked this kit up recently, and would recommend getting either the Nautilus fuselage brace(Wood), or the 3D printed one from Flying Leatherneck. I got the 3D one, and it is worth every penny! Now, if someone would just do something about that hump...
  9. I ordered some 1/48th ordnance, M-118x2, SUU-30x2, LAU-10x2 from MPM in '23, and it came quickly, and seem to be well made and detailed. My experience, I am in no affiliated with them.
  10. Just want to share what I picked up over the weekend; Punch right sized holes in aluminum foil, then put on a drop of UV glue, then cure! Brilliant!
  11. MV Lenses were very nice, but now out of production, right? Little-lenses from the UK are no longer being made - SO - Does anybody make Clear and Colored lenses anymore?
  12. Any sneak peeks of the Dark Vipers V?
  13. I can't help with the OPs question, but I agree about the Monogram Thud. The real A/C has an ogive, Mono provides a cone. I made myself crazy over a fix until I simply added a .030 shim on the BACK side to eliminate that step between fuselage and cone, filled the pitot hole in the front, and filed the fwd half to taper to a point. Now the length is correct for the cone itself. I then drilled a hole, and inserted new pitot made from 1mm Albion NiSilver tube, with a needle in the end. A better modeler may have come up with a more elegant solution, but this is what I did. Cheers!
  14. Thanks everyone for the help. It's appreciated!
  15. The things one learns. Thank you. So, does anyone make an aftermarket Optical Sight Unit for an F-4, or the Combiner glass for an F-14D, and possibly B model? 1/48th, again.
  16. Arrived in yesterdays mail, and it looks to be a great read!
  17. Does anyone make them? I've still got a stack of Monogram and ESCI kits to build!
  18. Two Bobs decals say FS 17875, which MRP calls White. Jake Melampy's F-16 book says they are "A very, very light shade of gray." AMS strikes again!
  19. Thanks! Actually, the pylons with the TERS attached. Looks like parts C5, C6 and C10. I'd be happy to pay for them!
